For best sound do remove the box which is placed above the original filter..
There are some disadvantages of this filter.. if you are removing upper box of filter. Do cover it by some kind of net. So it can help to prevent dust to enter the throttle body.

Yess , definitely it will affect to ur engine !!! If u have to install performance air filter then.u should also install aftermarket exhaust it will make the flow of air seamless and won't harm ur engine!!😊

Clean the filter regularly (mandatory), if possible get an ECU remapping done(optional). No harm at all if you take care of it.
