Great video! I just changed my radiator, expansion tank, thermostat, water pump and 3 coolant hoses. If I venture into this, I will replace the plastic tubes and the two hoses that go to the heater core also. 2004 X3 3.0i 88K miles.
Very impressive. Thanks for showing this. What is the difference in the two coolant temp sensors. The one you showed and the one at the front of the car?
I love german cars, but jesus christ overengineering is killing me, different bolts, lugs, no space in the engine bay, to change something you have to take half of the engine😁
Yep just got an estimate for oil pan gasket replacement 2000 dollars and guess what the same bmw x3 also had these coolant pipes leaking too just when winter starts this happens
I just did this job and replaced the CCV but new pipes are leaking coolant like crazy. I will take everything appart again and this time use some RTV or JB Weld waterweld on the end. I don't want to deal with this problem ever again .
I'm sorry to hear that. I've had similar issues using cheap replacement parts on other M54 engines. Using coolant safe RTV is never a bad idea. Best of luck.
Where does that single vaccume line go thats connected with the canister i cant find where it connects im manifold i see to im my x3 in back of manifold but they are both, plugged with a rubber plug
My 06 x3 keeps overheating and when it does the radiator cap just lets all the fliud out, I got new tstat, new hoses, I temoved the water pump to inspect it but found no issues with it, any ideas anyone??
On my 1997 528 , it overheated. All parts good, BUT very dirty between radiator and air conditioner radiator, l removed coolant radiator and pressure washed it with water and air nozzle off air compressor. Leaves between parts restricted air flow. All good now for last 5 years
HELPFUL TIP: THE O-RING SECTION WILL PROBABLY BREAK OFF IN THE BLOCK. USE A SECTION OF HACKSAW BLADE OR JIGSAW BLADE WITH VICE GRIPS. CUT SOME GROOVES IN THE PLASTIC. BREAK IT WITH A SMALL SCREWDRIVER AND THEY WILL POP RIGHT OUT. DONT PRY ON THE BOCK PLZ!

Thanks for teaching us personally I really appreciate it best video I have watched
Great video! I have to do the same on my 328i 2000
Oh man , I believe it's time to get mine done 😓😓😓😓😓😓
Thanks for the tips and everything 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great work. Thank you.

😂 yup that’s Bmw that’s why gotta learn to do it yourself it’s simple really just seems like to much if you over think it

Not sure if I’m over thinking it but I’m not sure if I’m looking at the right parts

Does the 3.0i m54 E83 not have a (Non return valve) & Vacuum Control valve?
How much time did this work take excluding the time to bleed the system at the end of the job?
Hi Ron, I think it took me 5 to 6 hours to film the process and complete the job. I would expect a seasoned DIYer to be faster without a camera.
@@Rurik_JustCruznI am new to this and am seeing it to be an HVAC Heater Hose. Am I correct?
I didn't even know you could access the 16 mm bracket bolt without removing the throttle body
is this the same engine model as a bmw x5 M54 2001?
Yes sir
That intake bracket on the bottom 100% was deleted for my car.

Not covering the intake ports was stressing me out lol

Good idea. I'll keep that in mind next time I do this job. Thanks for watching
