THANK YOU!!!! The hot shoe on my Canon Rebel Xti has been loose for years and as the photographer for a small summer camp, I really need it to work. I thought I was finally going to have to buy a new camera, which I can't really afford right now, because the local camera repair shop is no longer in business and there's nowhere else local. I don't have any Locktite on hand and the hardware store is an hour away, but I was able to tighten the screws for now and will get some next time I go to town, or maybe on Amazon. Woo hoo, back in business!
Thank you. I have been annoyed by the loose flash shoe on my EOS 650 for 30 years! Finally fixed in two minutes. Awesome!
Your video saved me $400. I was ready to buy another used 1DS mark II to use with my strobes, cause my hotshoe didn't work. Your video solved the problem. Thanks.
Omg that was so easy, thank you so much!!!! I literally nearly rented another camera for a shoot tomorow because I didn't have time to take mine in for repairs... You saved me so much money! :) huge thank you!
DUDE YOU ARE AN ANGEL IN MY LIFE!
I have a big job in an hour and that litterally just saved me! worked perfectly on my 6D, but i didnt have the locktite, so i just tighten the scrools and it worked. thanks man!
Absolute legend!! I'm working in an hour and was stressing HARD that I'd have to make do or use my crop sensor camera. THANK YOU!
Thanks for the slick fix!
thanks for this video, I've had this problem for years!
Many Thanks for this video!
That works on my 1DX MKII - but it doesn't work on the R5 - the screws are tightened from inside the camera - in other words the camera has to be almost completely disassembled to tighten those screws from the inside - Canon really screwed up the design with their R series cameras
Saved me $$. Thanks!
Off topic but: I saw your earlier videos on partnering with a company to custom design your own yoyo. I was wondering if you could describe the process and your experience in a longer video?
Fixed! Thanks.
Awesome! Thanks!
Thank you very much, very helpful, it was perfect!
save me on taking it to technical service :)
I leave my like, thanks!

wow!.this video is so helpful!!!.. Thank you for making this!..i'll give you a sub!
Thanks
Tkanks a Lot
Can I can what are those small circle/electrical components of the camera called? My camera seems to be missing the top/bigger circle and I was wondering how that could be fixed? Please
I screwed up. Flash wasnt popping up. I looked up a YT video, but I was over zealous & removed one to many screws to the point of maybe no return. The two little swing arms & left spring are loose. Have you done the same? I just wanted to clean the dust from the crevices. Yes. I am upset with myself.
Vid idea
Atlas yo-yo vs monster edge
thanks bro xxx
by the way, you might wanna put "loose mic holder" in your video tags cause that's how I found you
What size screws are those?
I lost the metal cover with the ramps on it. Didn’t think anything of it but blew my speed lights flash tube while using it without . Is that a coincidence?
what camera is that?
Does anyone know the screw size?
Any idea how to do this on an EOS R5?? I fixed my old 1D and 5D's no problem, but after getting a loose hot shoe last night on my R5 I pulled the top plate off this morning and there are NO SCREWS on the R5! Not sure WHY they would do this, but now I'm stuck having to work out how to get it fixed at short notice before a gig this afternoon. NOT HAPPY JAN!
For R5 and R6 canon has incorporated a different design unfortunately... the screws are inside the camera, you need to send it in for repairs. it involves removing parts of the camera. it seems to be a design problem, there are a lot of reports of this problem with r5 and r6. i know someone that had his camera repaired by canon and after 6 monts the screws came loose again...design issue
@@claudiutoader5938 Yeah I found some vids that showed the process, but I was like yeah nah, not doing that lol. And I'm not paying to send my cam away only to have it potentially happen again, so pissed off. I now only use my R5 for Video and daytime no flash photos. Oh what great value for a $7K camera lol. Canon I want my money back
@@PossMcLeod they should do a recall on this problem and fix it for free, the reports about it its growing...
this is a different model and the screws are inverted on the 6D mark ii. The heads are underneath the top cover that need to be tightened.this technique will not work
crap!! my R5 hotshoe is screwed from the bottom!!! WTF?!?!?!
I sent it in for warranty repair to canon. It took about a week. Good luck to you all!
👍
You'd assume they would do this in the factory.
FYI this does not work for the Canon 90D! Hotshoe is screwed on from the inside of the camera...
Transition was a little slow ngl but maybe next time speed it up a bit by 1.5x
Yeah, This don't work for R6 & R5!
My flash wasn’t working and I was absolutely stumped during tonight’s wedding, luckily I carry two camera bodies with me so that saved me. It wasn’t till I got home just now to study what’s going one and found out my hot shoe is loose. Your video was first to pop up! Your a life saver!!!!
