Greetings from the Netherlands. Matt, you always have great videos, always love watching them. I currently put 2 ZM F-4EJ Kai to my stash because of the awesome yellow and blue anniversary paint schemes. Love japanese F-4 in general. Will keep an eye on the fit of the cockpit, thanks for the warning. The Wild Weasel I will wait until you completed the series. Maybe that one I will take the Meng and put some effort adding detail in the cockpit. Pity they did not include the pilot figures as in their Hornets. Keep up doing the great videos.
I will go for Meng just because the upper fuselage is one piece. The cockpit details are DIY dreams. However, I must admit ZM is better looking overall.
The ming looks to be a lot easier to build than the other one which is more detailed, ugh. But , I can make a map case and some wiring. So, have evergreen will travel .
I got lucky with the sill fit, but that may have been assembly sequence, I test fit everything before gluing the sill and actually tacked it in with the fuselage mocked up.
Maybe. On my F-4D the starboard side fit great and it was the port side that was squirrely. Was trying to test fit everything here but something obviously snuck through.
There we have it; silliness 😁 Great shootout. Although a draw, the question could also be: would you rather spend time fitting the Zukei cockpit or spend time modding the Meng one to Zukei's standard.
I had the same issues fitting the ZM cockpit into my early E kit. I thought it was operator error so I am relived it isn’t just me. Heads up that I had some seem work where the lower forward fuselage joined the main fuselage pieces when I brought it all together. Not that hard to fix though.
Pimping the Meng cockpit using CAD designed 3D prints sounds good to me - Does anyone have any idea if anyone 's working on that? Great video by the way.
To fit is almost everything. If the parts don’t fit its worthless to me. I had a kit once where the wings would not go together and i mean over a 1/16th of an inch plus i did everything i could and no go. It went in the trash
are you going to scratch the rats nest of wires to both rear ips matt? they seem naked without it. or are you keeping that stuff to a minimum for the purpose of a purer comparison
Not going to lie; won't be getting a Weasel until this series is finished.
