This looks excellent! I'm needing to get that Voultar PCB, I did a DIY version of the RGB mod on my own SNES Jr. years ago but I'd like to clean it up. I'm curious though, why didn't you go with the C11 capacitor replacement? Apparently replacing that with a better one is supposed to fix ghosting on the system.
Just an FYI, you can tap 5V and ground from the bottom terminals of the reset button instead of in the middle of the board where the voltage regulator is. Makes for an easier wire management of LED modding.
Much appreciated sir and excellent advice. I should have given you some love as I use all your pre-sets on the framemeister... Next time I will do so and link to your site!
Why do content creators insist on putting music in tech videos? Not even appropriate music, just plain shitty music. What is a very informative and interesting video, is endlessly irritating. Good grief.
Ok this is a fantastic mod! It keeps the console classic but with an extra flair which makes it pop! Have you tried to cast the controller buttons yet? Because led with see through buttons would be even more awesome! Great video and keep up the good work!
Any chance of you selling the semi-trans buttons? I really want to do a simple power on/off light in my Junior. But cant find anyone that produces the lower button
The BT RGB is a clever addition indeed. I picked up an SNES Jr, so once I give it a full onceover, I'll look into the RGB mod chip, but looks like "the usual place" doesn't have any in stock.
Update on SNES Jr/Mini Cart slot had some light corrosion on maybe 2, 3 pins, so it had a pretty low boot rate. Like, 12% chance to boot the cart. So I had to desolder that sucker. Had my shvc unit in storage, so I grabbed that one's cart slot and put it in. ...never again. (I wonder if it'd be a good idea to find some thermal sinks for the chips... copy the N64's setup a bit)
Amazing Work! Though one thing I would like to see someday is for the inserts that you put your Cartridges in are already Region Free so that'll save people a lot of money. That being said, The SNES was the first Console I've ever played. I also liked its Controller too! The SNES Controller should be your Next Project
If you can try casting those buttons again can you try the Neo Geo button technique: just color the visible area and the rest milky white so it diffuses the light. Anyone that has moded AES knows what I’m talking about.
I got a SNES Jr. and it drives me crazy how you can't tell it is powered up because there is no light. How much did that save Nintendo to omit 1 little light?!? Another great custom RockerGaming!
Thanks Kyle and I really appreciate the comments and you checking everything out! No kidding leds in bulk are $0.01 each! Literally they saved pennies!
@@RockerGaming Yeah, these may get sold at gamecon next year but it was a pretty good score. Gonna upload a video on them in the next couple days. You won't believe the other deals I got, definitely check it out!
Another nicely done mod! Always enjoy seeing some flair added to the SNES consoles! And, of course, I'm always happy to see the effort taken to be sure to play ALL the carts as well.
REALLY liking the way that looks. Are ones for the original SNES possible too? I think it would be cool to be able to paint horrible looking shells and be able to have other colors for the switches. Maybe even cast POWER/RESET into them so they wouldn't have to be screen printed and still be labeled. So many of those cases look so bad that painting them would just help at this point.
The subject matter was informative. Why do creators insist on putting music in their videos? And not worth listening to, just irritating synthisied crap.
@@99man none taken at all, please let me know how to improve. You thinking more classical music, straight game music with no remix, or do you mean absolutely nothing?

System looks great. I know this was a no cut mod but if you could clear cast the Super nintendo lettering on the outside of the case and have RGB LED behind a clear casting of the logo to the right of the buttons, that would be epic. Been thinking about casting myself but my project that I am thinking of is big. Maybe too big. I want to make the Cyber sled controls for the PS1 using casts of the Virtual on stick from the Sega Saturn.
Those clear led buttons are just what I was looking for. I finished a half assed region switch mod from a previous owner on an snes junior. The led is a 2 color led that can switch between green, red, and combined for orange. I want to illuminate the led without cutting the board.
RockerGaming I know I would be interested but it’s very niche I’ll be honest. What quantities would you be willing so sell at? It also depends on the price too. I wouldn’t mind buying 5 sets if that makes it worth your while.
I do list items for sale on my etsy page, however, for the most part I dont list full consoles on there. Its generally mod kits, buttons, and other accessories. You should check it out though, link is in the description!
I missed this video and the LED light ring video. whats crazy is the light ring was something I was super eager for and I some how missed it lol but I ordered some.
@@RockerGaming I can't wait! I plan on doing them on my black controller with dark red transparent buttons and my blue controller with transparent blue sticks with white buttons. I might also try it with the glow in the dark sticks.
Could you please clarify? I still don't understand the question. If you're running games from an Everdrive or SD2SNES that would be doing the region patching for the game ROMs regardless of your SNES' actual region, whereas otherwise it's a physical lockout for original Japanese game paks which is what the mod is meant to fix.

You should mass produce the buttons and sell em on Ebay. I'd pay, and I couldn't be the only one who would.
Good mod,now show it to nintendo and tell them how to make snes minis, haha.
Haha, thank you and I agree always need more SNES minis!

Do you ever take custom button orders? Looking for Power/Reset button like these, only in clear smoke for a N64.
Wow this is never seen, and totally amazing! Now can we get a SNES controller mod as well? 😁
You know what... I think you're right... Absolutely we need to do that!!!
I didn't realize how mini it really was inside. They could have made the shell even smaller like the NES one.
Did you ever sell these? Just picked up a jr and would really want to add these instead of drilling a hole
Could you use that led Bluetooth controller in the GameCube game ports for the leds as well?
