These edits are amazing! Season 3 has some of James's finest work, especially in episodes 18-20. His ability to portray concern, helplessness, wonder, joy, fear, pain, and utter heartbreak all in a matter of seconds never ceases to impress me. PS If it meant that James would save me and lie next to me to keep me warm, I would totally walk into the ocean. Just saying.

Hi, Sarah. I've never watched Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, but I'm familiar with the franchise/genre nonetheless. I revisit the original series and films featuring the ensemble when possible. A video focusing on Kirk and Spock's relationship is another of many videos I plan to publish in the near future. Also, I couldn't agree more in regards to James's performance in 3x18 when Lizzie "dies". Originally, the idea was for Red to give a monologue of sorts, and that was changed upon his recommendation. He is truly "the master".
Monique Martin I asked if you had seen DS9 because Red reminds me so much of a character called Garak. He is a former spy/assassin but became an exile. Over the course of the show, Starfleet utilizes his skills and resources to help them win a war. (It’s a fantastic show I highly recommend! (But you have to watch The Next Generation to get some of the references and back stories from DS9)) You mentioned the writers wrote a monologue for when Liz died, and I agree 100% that it would have ruined such a tragic moment. When it was revealed she was pregnant, I immediately had a fantasy where Red was the one to deliver her baby in the back of the car or in some trashy building while there is a gunfight. I actually really liked the way they did it though, just watching Red’s emotions through it all was amazing!

I've watched seasons 1-4 nearly twice in total, and much of season 5. And loads of clips...and I am so depressed, I feel very little. Rarely can I cry anymore, but I lost a few tears watching this...thankyou. To be human is to feel, living in a way without that, is cruel, I cannot describe it, it's hopeless to describe what the dark looks like to anyone who has only lived in the light, no matter how mean the light can be. It's better than death, but I live despite that, through others, and sometimes, I see that ray of light, coming into the cave, as Reddington put it once. Except I am no monster, only in an abyss, but no one can know the future. I will hold onto my life regardless of it's very absence.
I hope after all the twists and turns that he is in fact her father. His love and fierce protection. But the look he gave her, that look was dangerous but his self control is something to be admired.
I think he IS her father. But for some reason he won’t tell her the truth out of some fear of rejection or maybe putting her in more danger. He said constantly that he went into hiding for years and built his empire to protect her and anticipated every attack. He wouldn’t do that for someone that isn’t his daughter! He gave himself up to captors more than once to spare her! That’s a parent’s love!

I have said this on reddit time and time again, that all that I respect everyone's theory, that doesn't mean that they all make sense it all makes sense. Gven previos cannological information, the Redarina theory has too many glaring inconsistencies in it for it to me true. I have my own pet theory, but either way, I do think that Red is a father figure to Liz . This "reveal" is probably just another diversion by the writers 😳!

I literally feel so bad for Raymond. I mean he is literally a stranger to Liz but cares about her so deeply even after the countless times she betrayed him. Raymond literally changed his identity for ever and took on the life of a criminal and a father to protect a woman who he’s in love with. I mean fuck it this man changed his identity for Katarina just for her to then kidnap him and leave him without half of his blood dying?! And he still didn’t give her up to the fbi. Like wow the loyalty that this man has. Like katarina was literally killing him while all he could say is “ I never betrayed u”. and Liz like she literally put him on death row. He cared about her so deeply I can’t imagine the pain of knowing she literally almost killed him. I honestly think Reddington deserves so much better. He is so scared of being betrayed
I wish I had an answer for either question, Alexis. I’m still trying to understand it all honestly. There were far more fitting ways of writing the Elizabeth Keen character off or saying goodbye to her than what the finale offered. Red moving forward from losing her is difficult to say the least as she comprised his purpose.

Thank you so much, hun! Don't get me started on TPTB and their golden child who has done nothing to warrant the redemption that's being forced on us. In no capacity are Fakob and Red similar. Frankly, I don't know what I'm most exhausted from: seeing the character on my screen (well actually not so much as I and others in my family turn away until he's off - LOL) or the fan partitions who worship him. Long story short, I've been harassed on every platform, and their antics (let's just label them as such) have escalated to the extent that in addition to asinine thumbs-down on my presentations including those which are in no capacity connected to the show and/or Spader my 3x18 video was flagged as "offensive" and has been subsequently blocked. That I'm annoyed is just the beginning. I agree with you 100% as far as the dangers of not returning focus to Red, Lizzie, and their relationship to one another.

Daniela Campos I couldn't agree more about those who worship Fakob. The character on its own merit is beyond annoying, courtesy of those in charge focusing on the superficial. Even more puzzling is the knowledge that the genius of "Cape May" only came to be as a result of network execs intervening, requesting more of James. Seriously?! One shouldn't have to be encouraged to incorporate "The Master", especially since he's both the headliner of your show and the primary reason why the audience is so drawn. Just unbelievable!!! As happy as I am for Famke whose work I have always enjoyed and Edi, my family and I will not be watching the spinoff either. The character has done nothing to warrant redemption. Only Red has that right. And thank you so much for your continued love as well as support. For the time being, there are a couple projects apart from "The Blacklist" that I would like to work on. The first of which is already prepared - an updated Jean-Claude Van Damme compilation. He's a terrific martial artist, so humble, and I love as well as respect him a great deal. Another is a second Spader career compilation. Oh my!
I never really liked Tom either. Something bothered me right off the bat, and add the lying and everything made it worse that Liz took him back so soon.

Thank you so much. I admit that the episode quality has declined a bit, but there's so much potential I think. Combine the talented cast with a return to focus from a writing perspective, and the show should be able to recover. Ultimately, we just have to be patient and see what happens. I'm optimistic that there will be a turn-around for the better. Yea i only mean like if they would have made the show WITHOUT HER from the begining i would have been soo much happier, you know just too see red doing his thing across the world. But i love the show eitherway.. just the first and second season kinda sucked imo because of all the emotional bullshit with lizzy. But thats just my opinion about it, i have always fantasized about someone like red, pulling all the strings in the underworld and knows where everyone is at any point of time, and what they want and what they need.

Essentially, because my videos don't focus on their beloved Fakob/Tom (and I refuse to waste my time and energy dissecting a character and by association a relationship that I absolutely loathe) they resorted to antics inclusive of asinine thumbs down, flagging, and reports - a combination of which resulted in one of my videos being blocked among other matters. Disagreeing and being respective about the situation are equally important as far as fandom participation, I think, especially since we all want the same thing which is for "The Blacklist" to sustain for as long as possible. In turn, one should be able to advocate whatever character and/or relationship he/she pleases without being vilified for it, but sadly these days that is damn near impossible. If I could post it here on YT, I would do so happily, but I can't. Only recently has my channel been restored to "good standing", and I'd prefer not running the risk of jeopardizing everything. In the meantime, my only request in addition to what I mentioned before is for them to do what I've done and that's use their time constructively instead of tearing into other people's work. This harassment across all platforms needs to stop.

Sometimes, the notification function acts wonky to the extent that I have to manually review comments ensuring a) I haven't missed anything as I truly appreciate everyone who takes the time to watch and write (Responding to as many as I can is very important to me.) and b) that those flagged as 'spam' or suspicious in nature are indeed inappropriate. That's one among many revisions I've made to my account as a result of the trolls who I'm increasingly tired of dealing with and being harassed by. Hi, Jade. Yes, I'm doing well. At the moment, I'm working on a couple compilations outside of "The Blacklist" which I hope to prepare and publish very soon. As for why James's time on screen is diminishing, I wish I could offer a logical explanation for that, but unfortunately I can't. It makes no sense not to utilize his talent and has nothing at all to do with his wanting to focus more so on his role as producer or strictly working off camera. At the forefront , from TPTB's standpoint, is launching the spinoff which involves focusing less on Red - more specifically, making him less possible to relate with - forcing us to view Tom in a more positive light. You know my feelings on the latter subject, so I will simply offer that disgust is felt by many in the fandom in light of that shift. As for Lizzie, I don't recognize the character anymore. Instead of evolving into Red's equal as promised initially, now she serves as a plot device to accomplish the agenda I alluded to before. What a shame! Hopefully, not having a new episode on next week's schedule can be attributed to circumstances similar to "Cape May". By that, I refer to network execs stepping in and demanding something different. In the meantime, since what's really going on off camera isn't likely to be made public until after the show ends, I'll continue supporting the show for James who is a class act in every possible regard. I just love and respect his work, his dedication to the craft, so much and refuse to miss so much as a moment he's on screen.

The fans are all worried and wanting to know wtheck is going on. I was told this show cares so much about their fans so why do they keep us hanging...alot of unanswered queeries on and off show. Like i said earlier if they only listen to the fan forums blasting away this show would not be on the danger color of cancellation. It is sad because i know how much the cast have worked so hard for it to just be dropped all of a sudden.
It was such a hit season 1 and 2 when they had great cameo stars in the show . S3 and 4 lessend abit and even if they did have they were not too famous or ones not known of much, so did the budget of the show lessend or was there a change in ownership??
I'd like to see the show renewed. We all would frankly, but looking at the statistics it's hard to make a call either way. From Sony's perspective, it's a question of investment as far as the money put into the show and all of the ingredients that essentially comprise it. Your point about TPTB is spot-on. In addition to listening to us, the fans who enable their program to either succeed or fail, James should have been listened to with regards to Tom not surviving the events from the season 1 finale. Take that one element, and imagine the position we would be in right now. Everything would be much better. From season 2B onward, the problems haven't abated. They've increased exponentially. Why? Because everything from the first year has been retconned to it's detriment. Commentary from 2x19 - Leonard Caul provides insight as to the contrasting pages James and those in charge are in fact operating on. Specifically, in light of receiving no explanation as to why the plan changed from no Tom and really making everything about him as a result of his being in the picture, James asked why Red hasn't killed him. The response: Because of Lizzie's love for him, he (meaning Tom) is insulated from ever being harmed or facing consequences.". I'm sorry, but what?!! Ugh. It's so frustrating and from a strictly character point of view demeaning as now everyone apart from Red and Dembe suffers from amnesia. Samar belongs in that conversation as well since she wasn't around in the first year.
To this day, the blacklisters continue to be excellently cast. As far as I know, the budget hasn't changed. The only visible modification I can see is from an advertising standpoint. :(
I agree with you 100%. There's no questioning the level or degree of dedication from those who work on the show. It's shameful, however, that as you observe TPTB don't have any respect for what we have to say. And to think that it's not just us asking questions and wondering what the hell's going on. Critics argue the same points as well, so having said that everyone can't be wrong. TPTB are plain stubborn to continue with an arc that hasn't yielded a single benefit.
Oh my goodness. During the first season, I didn't skip a single episode as Red played an integral role throughout - as he should. However, if I had to isolate a few, they would be the following: "The Freelancer", "The Stewmaker", "Frederick Barnes", both "Anslo Garrick" installments, "The Good Samaritan", "Madeline Pratt", "The Kingmaker" and both "Berlin" installments. These are the eps, I think, that provide the most intimate glimpses into Red and the man beneath the armor from the freshman season. But again, the season as a whole was great.
Yes, the hiatus will have a two month duration, and June will mark the end of the season. I think we'll get a 5th season, but beyond that or if the episode order will be either standard or abbreviated is tough to call. Ready for tonight's broadcast?

Jade Montana I'm sure he spent his special day with family and friends. It doesn't get much better than that. :) I don't work in the industry. I'm a freelance graphic designer, street photographer, and manage cable broadcasts for my local town hall. As for behind-the-scenes info, there are multiple blogs in that regard that I try my best to keep up with not only in terms of "The Blacklist", but also other programs - "The Affair" being one of them. Ratings for TBL are low, but fortunately the DVR numbers are solid. In some cases, those statistics have actually grown from week to week. Like anything else, that's dependent on the cycle. We have a broadcast tomorrow. Subsequently, we'll have at least another couple (maybe 3, I'm not positive) and then the spinoff will run for 8 weeks during the same Thursday time slot. Red being poisoned won't be the last episode we're treated with before Redemption starts. That's one reason for me to verify the new episode count before the hiatus. :) I imagine there are plenty of blacklisters left. From the beginning, I've felt that at the top of Red's list will be the person responsible for the events of Christmas Eve 1990 and essentially ruining his life - taking away all that he loved and once held dear in the process.
Hi, we're introduced to Red's family - more accurately, his daughter Jennifer - in the 7th episode of season 1, "Frederick Barnes". Specifically, with Dembe and Luli, he repurchases the home in which they lived with the intention of destroying it and while there reminisces about her running through the front yard, happy and playing with bubbles. :) It's not until the season 2 opener that we see his wife Carla, now living under the alias Naomi Hyland, and 2x04 represents her last appearance (for the time being anyway). For all the faults with respect to how TPTB went about constructing the story, I sincerely hope that we see Mary-Louise Parker again as she and James collaborated beautifully. In her own right, she's a fantastic actress.

Yes, I saw James's appearance on Fallon last night, and as usual I enjoyed their segments. Like Red, he is quite the storyteller, and I think the anecdotes are fun. For me, it's nice to see that side - that shift in energy - amidst what has to be a frustrating situation creatively. I'm not sure why the new episode isn't being shown next week, but in the meantime it allows for me to focus strictly on my next two videos - one of which is already in progress (and apart from the show) and the other a birthday gift for him which has been a tradition of mine for the past couple years.
Monique, I am hoping the timeslot feb 23 - apr 29 (redemption spinoff) is also the annual spring break the Blacklist usually take? Or not..if not does that mean we have to put up with another 2 months of their spring haitus ?? That's too much, esp not knowing if IT will be renewed or ends. I think this not knowing is also hard for the fans and followers as we the fans have invested time and emotions on this show. To some the BL has been their life. Who/wats the culprit ...nbc? sony?

Jade Montana Essentially, that's the case. We have a new broadcast this week and two more subsequent to that. After the 16th, the spinoff will take over the Thursday 10 P.M. time slot for a period of 8 weeks. From there, "The Blacklist" will be back on. I'm not sure how many episodes comprise this current season, but my guess is that the final count will be the standard 22. So that translates into another 8 episodes after it returns from yet another hiatus.
I'd purchase 2x04, absolutely, as there are multiple exchanges between Red and his wife, amidst other gems in between. :) Also, I forgot to mention in my earlier reply that Jennifer is also seen via flashbacks in another season 1 episode, specifically the 16th installment, entitled "Mako Tanida". I can't believe I omitted that as the scene itself is among the most beautiful and profound.

LOL I know. Immediately, I concluded that 3x18 - more specifically, Lizzie's "death" - was very much a path for Megan to take maternity leave and then enjoy time with her new daughter. I couldn't be happier for her. :) Everything begins with the writing. As for executing the trick successfully, causing people to question whether the character was really deceased or not (again, we knew she wasn't as ultimately the show hinges on Red and his relationship to her), I attribute that mostly to James who perfectly illustrated a man in pain, dealing with an unimaginable grief, and simultaneously looking for a mode of escaping that which he realized in 3x20 he couldn't. Moving forward is THE way to get through. Full credit to Amir on his performance as well.
Hi, Jennifer. The season 3 finale revealed that Lizzie isn't dead, which I and many others suspected immediately after the events from 3x18. Instead, her death was simulated as part of a plan devised by Mr. Kaplan.

These edits are amazing! Season 3 has some of James's finest work, especially in episodes 18-20. His ability to portray concern, helplessness, wonder, joy, fear, pain, and utter heartbreak all in a matter of seconds never ceases to impress me.
PS If it meant that James would save me and lie next to me to keep me warm, I would totally walk into the ocean. Just saying.

Monique Martin and Spader’s acting in the episode where Liz nearly dies is fantastic too. The suffering and guilt he portrays when he is in the car outside of the hospital is just amazing.
Hi, Sarah. I've never watched Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, but I'm familiar with the franchise/genre nonetheless. I revisit the original series and films featuring the ensemble when possible. A video focusing on Kirk and Spock's relationship is another of many videos I plan to publish in the near future. Also, I couldn't agree more in regards to James's performance in 3x18 when Lizzie "dies". Originally, the idea was for Red to give a monologue of sorts, and that was changed upon his recommendation. He is truly "the master".
Monique Martin I asked if you had seen DS9 because Red reminds me so much of a character called Garak. He is a former spy/assassin but became an exile. Over the course of the show, Starfleet utilizes his skills and resources to help them win a war. (It’s a fantastic show I highly recommend! (But you have to watch The Next Generation to get some of the references and back stories from DS9))
You mentioned the writers wrote a monologue for when Liz died, and I agree 100% that it would have ruined such a tragic moment. When it was revealed she was pregnant, I immediately had a fantasy where Red was the one to deliver her baby in the back of the car or in some trashy building while there is a gunfight. I actually really liked the way they did it though, just watching Red’s emotions through it all was amazing!

I've watched seasons 1-4 nearly twice in total, and much of season 5. And loads of clips...and I am so depressed, I feel very little. Rarely can I cry anymore, but I lost a few tears watching this...thankyou. To be human is to feel, living in a way without that, is cruel, I cannot describe it, it's hopeless to describe what the dark looks like to anyone who has only lived in the light, no matter how mean the light can be. It's better than death, but I live despite that, through others, and sometimes, I see that ray of light, coming into the cave, as Reddington put it once. Except I am no monster, only in an abyss, but no one can know the future. I will hold onto my life regardless of it's very absence.
I hope after all the twists and turns that he is in fact her father. His love and fierce protection. But the look he gave her, that look was dangerous but his self control is something to be admired.

I think he IS her father. But for some reason he won’t tell her the truth out of some fear of rejection or maybe putting her in more danger. He said constantly that he went into hiding for years and built his empire to protect her and anticipated every attack. He wouldn’t do that for someone that isn’t his daughter! He gave himself up to captors more than once to spare her! That’s a parent’s love!

I have said this on reddit time and time again, that all that I respect everyone's theory, that doesn't mean that they all make sense it all makes sense. Gven previos cannological information, the Redarina theory has too many glaring inconsistencies in it for it to me true. I have my own pet theory, but either way, I do think that Red is a father figure to Liz . This "reveal" is probably just another diversion by the writers 😳!

I wish I had an answer for either question, Alexis. I’m still trying to understand it all honestly. There were far more fitting ways of writing the Elizabeth Keen character off or saying goodbye to her than what the finale offered. Red moving forward from losing her is difficult to say the least as she comprised his purpose.

Thank you so much, hun! Don't get me started on TPTB and their golden child who has done nothing to warrant the redemption that's being forced on us. In no capacity are Fakob and Red similar. Frankly, I don't know what I'm most exhausted from: seeing the character on my screen (well actually not so much as I and others in my family turn away until he's off - LOL) or the fan partitions who worship him. Long story short, I've been harassed on every platform, and their antics (let's just label them as such) have escalated to the extent that in addition to asinine thumbs-down on my presentations including those which are in no capacity connected to the show and/or Spader my 3x18 video was flagged as "offensive" and has been subsequently blocked. That I'm annoyed is just the beginning.

Daniela Campos I couldn't agree more about those who worship Fakob. The character on its own merit is beyond annoying, courtesy of those in charge focusing on the superficial. Even more puzzling is the knowledge that the genius of "Cape May" only came to be as a result of network execs intervening, requesting more of James. Seriously?! One shouldn't have to be encouraged to incorporate "The Master", especially since he's both the headliner of your show and the primary reason why the audience is so drawn. Just unbelievable!!!
As happy as I am for Famke whose work I have always enjoyed and Edi, my family and I will not be watching the spinoff either. The character has done nothing to warrant redemption. Only Red has that right.

Thank you so much. I admit that the episode quality has declined a bit, but there's so much potential I think. Combine the talented cast with a return to focus from a writing perspective, and the show should be able to recover. Ultimately, we just have to be patient and see what happens. Thanks to a less friendly partition of the fandom, my account standing was in jeopardy. Essentially, because my videos don't focus on their beloved Fakob/Tom (and I refuse to waste my time and energy dissecting a character and by association a relationship that I absolutely loathe) they resorted to antics inclusive of asinine thumbs down, flagging, and reports - a combination of which resulted in one of my videos being blocked among other matters. Disagreeing and being respective about the situation are equally important as far as fandom participation, I think, especially since we all want the same thing which is for "The Blacklist" to sustain for as long as possible. In turn, one should be able to advocate whatever character and/or relationship he/she pleases without being vilified for it, but sadly these days that is damn near impossible.
If I could post it here on YT, I would do so happily, but I can't. Only recently has my channel been restored to "good standing", and I'd prefer not running the risk of jeopardizing everything. In the meantime, my only request in addition to what I mentioned before is for them to do what I've done and that's use their time constructively instead of tearing into other people's work. This harassment across all platforms needs to stop.

Jade Montana Not at all hun. There's nothing I enjoy more than the conversations, especially ours. Sometimes, the notification function acts wonky to the extent that I have to manually review comments ensuring a) I haven't missed anything as I truly appreciate everyone who takes the time to watch and write (Responding to as many as I can is very important to me.) and b) that those flagged as 'spam' or suspicious in nature are indeed inappropriate. That's one among many revisions I've made to my account as a result of the trolls who I'm increasingly tired of dealing with and being harassed by. They're everywhere, and it seems that despite exercising all available option they simply won't stop. And again, all because I opt to focus on the characters (mostly Red) and relationships that I enjoy which is how it should be, I think. Rarely do I respond to their messages and/or comments because frankly what they offer has nothing at all to do with the content. It's more vitriol and ugly stunts which I want nothing to do. You are right S2 was all over the place and S3 seemed to be more about lizzie..so what is your take on season 4? and even if it is always nice that the other characters come into play, i wish the writers would bring back more of Spader. oh and are the writers of S1 S2 different from S1...could explain why not as good as S1?

Hi, Jade. Yes, I'm doing well. At the moment, I'm working on a couple compilations outside of "The Blacklist" which I hope to prepare and publish very soon.
As for why James's time on screen is diminishing, I wish I could offer a logical explanation for that, but unfortunately I can't. It makes no sense not to utilize his talent and has nothing at all to do with his wanting to focus more so on his role as producer or strictly working off camera. At the forefront , from TPTB's standpoint, is launching the spinoff which involves focusing less on Red - more specifically, making him less possible to relate with - forcing us to view Tom in a more positive light. You know my feelings on the latter subject, so I will simply offer that disgust is felt by many in the fandom in light of that shift. As for Lizzie, I don't recognize the character anymore. Instead of evolving into Red's equal as promised initially, now she serves as a plot device to accomplish the agenda I alluded to before. What a shame!
Hopefully, not having a new episode on next week's schedule can be attributed to circumstances similar to "Cape May". By that, I refer to network execs stepping in and demanding something different. In the meantime, since what's really going on off camera isn't likely to be made public until after the show ends, I'll continue supporting the show for James who is a class act in every possible regard. I just love and respect his work, his dedication to the craft, so much and refuse to miss so much as a moment he's on screen.

The fans are all worried and wanting to know wtheck is going on. I was told this show cares so much about their fans so why do they keep us hanging...alot of unanswered queeries on and off show. Like i said earlier if they only listen to the fan forums blasting away this show would not be on the danger color of cancellation. It is sad because i know how much the cast have worked so hard for it to just be dropped all of a sudden.
It was such a hit season 1 and 2 when they had great cameo stars in the show . S3 and 4 lessend abit and even if they did have they were not too famous or ones not known of much, so did the budget of the show lessend or was there a change in ownership??
I'd like to see the show renewed. We all would frankly, but looking at the statistics it's hard to make a call either way. From Sony's perspective, it's a question of investment as far as the money put into the show and all of the ingredients that essentially comprise it.
Your point about TPTB is spot-on. In addition to listening to us, the fans who enable their program to either succeed or fail, James should have been listened to with regards to Tom not surviving the events from the season 1 finale. Take that one element, and imagine the position we would be in right now. Everything would be much better. From season 2B onward, the problems haven't abated. They've increased exponentially. Why? Because everything from the first year has been retconned to it's detriment. Commentary from 2x19 - Leonard Caul provides insight as to the contrasting pages James and those in charge are in fact operating on. Specifically, in light of receiving no explanation as to why the plan changed from no Tom and really making everything about him as a result of his being in the picture, James asked why Red hasn't killed him. The response: Because of Lizzie's love for him, he (meaning Tom) is insulated from ever being harmed or facing consequences.". I'm sorry, but what?!! Ugh. It's so frustrating and from a strictly character point of view demeaning as now everyone apart from Red and Dembe suffers from amnesia. Samar belongs in that conversation as well since she wasn't around in the first year.
To this day, the blacklisters continue to be excellently cast. As far as I know, the budget hasn't changed. The only visible modification I can see is from an advertising standpoint. :(
I agree with you 100%. There's no questioning the level or degree of dedication from those who work on the show. It's shameful, however, that as you observe TPTB don't have any respect for what we have to say. And to think that it's not just us asking questions and wondering what the hell's going on. Critics argue the same points as well, so having said that everyone can't be wrong. TPTB are plain stubborn to continue with an arc that hasn't yielded a single benefit.

Oh my goodness. During the first season, I didn't skip a single episode as Red played an integral role throughout - as he should. However, if I had to isolate a few, they would be the following: "The Freelancer", "The Stewmaker", "Frederick Barnes", both "Anslo Garrick" installments, "The Good Samaritan", "Madeline Pratt", "The Kingmaker" and both "Berlin" installments. These are the eps, I think, that provide the most intimate glimpses into Red and the man beneath the armor from the freshman season. But again, the season as a whole was great.

Yes, the hiatus will have a two month duration, and June will mark the end of the season. I think we'll get a 5th season, but beyond that or if the episode order will be either standard or abbreviated is tough to call. Ready for tonight's broadcast?

As for the show I like it that you say there might be season 5 even w/ low ratings. I do hope so too since the blacklist on netflix but what make you say? I don't work in the industry. I'm a freelance graphic designer, street photographer, and manage cable broadcasts for my local town hall. As for behind-the-scenes info, there are multiple blogs in that regard that I try my best to keep up with not only in terms of "The Blacklist", but also other programs - "The Affair" being one of them. Ratings for TBL are low, but fortunately the DVR numbers are solid. In some cases, those statistics have actually grown from week to week. Like anything else, that's dependent on the cycle. We have a broadcast tomorrow. Subsequently, we'll have at least another couple (maybe 3, I'm not positive) and then the spinoff will run for 8 weeks during the same Thursday time slot. Red being poisoned won't be the last episode we're treated with before Redemption starts. That's one reason for me to verify the new episode count before the hiatus. :)
I imagine there are plenty of blacklisters left. From the beginning, I've felt that at the top of Red's list will be the person responsible for the events of Christmas Eve 1990 and essentially ruining his life - taking away all that he loved and once held dear in the process.

Hi, we're introduced to Red's family - more accurately, his daughter Jennifer - in the 7th episode of season 1, "Frederick Barnes". Specifically, with Dembe and Luli, he repurchases the home in which they lived with the intention of destroying it and while there reminisces about her running through the front yard, happy and playing with bubbles. :) It's not until the season 2 opener that we see his wife Carla, now living under the alias Naomi Hyland, and 2x04 represents her last appearance (for the time being anyway). For all the faults with respect to how TPTB went about constructing the story, I sincerely hope that we see Mary-Louise Parker again as she and James collaborated beautifully. In her own right, she's a fantastic actress.

Yes, I saw James's appearance on Fallon last night, and as usual I enjoyed their segments. Like Red, he is quite the storyteller, and I think the anecdotes are fun. For me, it's nice to see that side - that shift in energy - amidst what has to be a frustrating situation creatively.
I'm not sure why the new episode isn't being shown next week, but in the meantime it allows for me to focus strictly on my next two videos - one of which is already in progress (and apart from the show) and the other a birthday gift for him which has been a tradition of mine for the past couple years.
Monique, I am hoping the timeslot feb 23 - apr 29 (redemption spinoff) is also the annual spring break the Blacklist usually take? Or not..if not does that mean we have to put up with another 2 months of their spring haitus ?? That's too much, esp not knowing if IT will be renewed or ends. Jade Montana Essentially, that's the case. We have a new broadcast this week and two more subsequent to that. After the 16th, the spinoff will take over the Thursday 10 P.M. time slot for a period of 8 weeks. From there, "The Blacklist" will be back on. I'm not sure how many episodes comprise this current season, but my guess is that the final count will be the standard 22. So that translates into another 8 episodes after it returns from yet another hiatus.

Also, I forgot to mention in my earlier reply that Jennifer is also seen via flashbacks in another season 1 episode, specifically the 16th installment, entitled "Mako Tanida". I can't believe I omitted that as the scene itself is among the most beautiful and profound.

LOL I know. Immediately, I concluded that 3x18 - more specifically, Lizzie's "death" - was very much a path for Megan to take maternity leave and then enjoy time with her new daughter. I couldn't be happier for her. :)
Everything begins with the writing. As for executing the trick successfully, causing people to question whether the character was really deceased or not (again, we knew she wasn't as ultimately the show hinges on Red and his relationship to her), I attribute that mostly to James who perfectly illustrated a man in pain, dealing with an unimaginable grief, and simultaneously looking for a mode of escaping that which he realized in 3x20 he couldn't. Moving forward is THE way to get through. Full credit to Amir on his performance as well.

While Red was in immeasurable pain and suffering, she was settled in a property in Cuba, all arranged by Mr. Kaplan, and awaiting Tom as well as her daughter Agnes. Ultimately, Kate's plan was foiled as Alexander Kirk, revealed to be Lizzie's father, tracked them down and abducted her.
