Joel running outside in a thunderstorm holding a metal crowbar and immediately getting struck by lightning and him not even realizing what happened makes this way funnier.
I figured it was some Breath of the Wild shit.
I tried that command myself and figured that Joel most probably got punched by a cloaked alien.
If he kept inside with the doors locked the alien would toss shit at the window until Joel went outside himself or let him in.

I'm convinced the actual reason Joel doesn't see the aliens around the base is because they're far more scared of him than he is scared of them

The dev is really kind of a genius for finding a way to counter Joel's habit of pausing when things get too freaky lol

Pretty much, yeah. That being said, they ARE bigger and stronger than most humans apparently but they can't be on earth without gas masks and air tanks.
I think it'd be adorable if you could actually befriend one & have one hang out at the base.
The closest we have to this is the fact that they'll eat the shrimp you leave out for them.
kind of an exaggeration but yeah, they're an advanced alien species that don't intend to harm people, just want to help/fuck around with them

It isn't just spooky noises I've found out, if you pay attention to the end of the video you can actually see a barely-noticable wavery effect enter his base. Which means this IS a physical entity that just infiltrated his home.
