I remember going to see these cars when they 1st arrived at the Ford dealer. Each Fall we went to see all the new cars. I was 10 years old in 55. Dad owned a 55 country sedan V8 stick with overdrive. Great times in that car camping in Maine.

55-57 Chevy Belairs, 55-57 Ford T-birds, The epitamy of 50s classic styling. Nice color, lots of nice pastel colors back then.

Just bought a 1955 Ford Thunderbird Shay replica last week. Although not a true bird (manufactured in 1981), it is fun to own without breaking the bank. Not too many Shay T-birds replicas made (I believe 200) which makes it a collector car in it's own right.

The seat foam and padding is sub standard. The yellow inserts in the seats and door panels are correct. But the yellow on the dash and steering wheels should be all black.

Pulling that level locks it OUT of overdrive. Those wire wheels are not stock. They were an option on the 1962-63 Sport Roadster. Each year having its own unique center cap.

Are you sure? That would be interesting if that were true. I thought they were made at the Ford plants in Dearborn, Michigan Long Beach, California Mahwah, New Jersey Hapeville, Georgia.

Take that car to the grocery store and I guarantee it'll be keyed, doored, bumper scraped or bashed with a shopping cart first time out and every time after that.
