It's indeed brave of you to share this video, especially if you have high expectations of yourself - but it's really helpful and motivating (and gives a giggle). Who hasn't been in these situations when the dog happily wants to greet everyone during training and you feel as superfluous as an old plastic bag and at the same time have to remain a calm and fair leader. And I'm sure everyone knows these annoying moments when the dog just forgets that you even exist, simply having a good time and you have to control yourself. BUT the way you deal with this situation shows your professionalism and despite Toph's touching cheerfulness (OK - at the wrong moment 😅) the skills of both of you are at a high level. The most beautiful thing is to see that - in your protected frame and with your loving, skilled, experienced guidance - your dogs are allowed to blossom with love, joy and dignity. All of you - you and your family and your team are making the earth a better place! 💯

Man I feel for you. This kind of thing has happened to every trainer I know. You can probably say the same thing. I’ve seen your training videos, and they’re good. Sometimes it’s just a bad day, it’s humbling and we learn from it. Keep up the good training.

You cut off your end commentary kind of like a cliffhanger. Yes, you are hyper critical of yourself, those judges have forgotten how many dogs they've seen poo during trial over the years, but she passed, and you know what needs work. Just a random idea, before they go out can you wet the back of their neck fur to cool them down during the trial?
Are your dogs trained to potty on command? I train mine to access test standards and relieving on command is one of the standards.

Yeah they go on command. She pooed 2 times 30 mins prior. You can wet them, I am sure, not a bad idea at all. We are our worst critics for sure. Thank you for your support. Back in the lab with her changing a lot up to fix my engagement issues with her.
