Pro Bono Journey and Surrogacy Compensation

- Our surrogacy agency, Your Fertility Advocate, had a desire to do a pro bono journey and waive their agency fee for the set of intended parents we matched with. This was such a blessing for Jake and Kenzy! As the journey started s everal others came on board to lessen the financial burden for them. I want to publicly, thank Seed Trust Escrow company for waiving their fee, Karen Rosenberg, from Krigel and Krigel law offices for discounting her rate, and Joni Franklin from Franklin Law Office for discounting her rate.
Dan and I prayed and talked and we also had the desire to do what we could to lessen that financial burden as they start their journey as new parents. We are thankful to be on this journey with Jake and Kenzy and can’t wait to see them become parents!

You waived your fee and collected hundreds or thousands in donations for them in gift cards? That couple won the lottery with you guys. You definitely deserve to be compensated for what you put your body through and all the time and effort you put into this. I hope the social media has paid you well for this experience, I can't imagine having the financial freedom to make a decision like this.
Maybe tax incentives? Dancers 😉 get soooo many things they can write-off on their taxes. This may be considered a business expense somehow?

Dawwww. I love this for all of you. I've messaged before about how I witnessed my sister do two surrogacy journeys with the most amazing experience. I met the families and was at the birth, updates and contact still 14 years later. It's amazing. I witnessed your last journey and the way it played out and it hurt my heart. I know first hand the why of this type of journey and I commend you for being willing and able to support this family without a monetary burden for them. The reality is, you're putting your life on the line for them because you understand the pain of desiring a child without the ability to bring one into the world themselves. It's a sad reality that some people don't get to "have a child" without bankrupting themselves. So unfair. BUT you have lessened that burden, giving a gift to them that can't erase their struggle and heartbreak for them but changes the course of their entire life!You have provided a dream come true and that.is.huge.
I didn’t know you guys turned down the money. I’ve watched a few of your videos with your previous surrogate. But to see how beautiful and pure you guys are has really changed me. I’ve never had much faith. This video gave me goosebumps. Thank you for being so selfless and beautiful.
And they truly did put it into God's hands and these two couples now have the best friendship. And Kenzie and Jake have their baby who has a lot of dark hair and that's all we know

@@Tweety22. well they reason like this: who has the right to the baby if the surrogat changes her mind? The surrogat or the couple who were supposed to get it? And that there needs to be super clear laws and changes in already existing laws if surrogacy is going to function correctly and smooth. That’s why it’s not legal at the time , in my country atleast

You’re amazing. I honestly think it’s insane to do it for free. I’ve given birth to 3 kids and it is so hard physically and emotionally and I can’t even imagine doing it for someone else for free. There’s no way I would do it for free.

This is not meant as a nosey question, but as a logistical one- do Jake and Kenzy still pay all the medical bills even though they're not paying the traditional fees?
I was wondering that as well, it would be logically to cover the medical costs and anything pregnancy related. I mean, they would still pay for those anyway if the intended mother was the one who was carrying the pregnancy, so this is really not an extra cost. And i believe with how amazing Jake and Kenzy are, it’s the least they could do for Sam and of course baby.

In her postpartum and labor vlog she mentioned that the intended parents pay the medical bills and that's why she didn't do home births or a birth center birth because it would end up being double the cost if something went wrong. So I guess so

I think it is a beautiful thing to help others become parents. Ofcourse there is a financial aspect. That is the hardest thing, because you don't want to have the feeling you are selling/buying a human being. But on the other side there are costs that come along with the process. Bless you for doing this out of the goodness of your hearts.

Awwwww I adore this. I have 3 boys and it took 7 yrs for our girl. She passed away last year at 5 yrs old. She got run over. Now I wonder if another will come before I'm too old. 😢 bless you !

I wonder that too of course I wonder that with all the super happy couples. Although there's something more real with these guys more raw and strip down and less perfection. Sam showed us her falling apart multiple times towards the end. Dan was always there to make her laugh or more comfortable or whatever she needed.
Watching this when you're a 3 weeks postpartum I missed it somehow I had heard you mentioned pro bono but I didn't realize that you guys did it for free as well. And the agency that's amazing for them. Plus they were blessed with enough gift cards to not have to make food or buy anything for at least a year. But I have to say the way that Dan looks at you every woman dreams of or every partner dreams of. And the way he supports you in this wholeheartedly. Is part of the journey with you. I will never forget all the carts I'm hoping we get to see it again. But you guys have such a beautiful strong relationship I don't think couples who are not super secure could handle this. But you too clearly are very much in love and have a lot of respect for each other.
It says in God's word that IF YOU BLESS SOMEONE...DON'T TELL OTHERS ABOUT IT! OTHERWISE...YOUR REWARD IN HEAVEN IS NO LONGER THERE. for you just bragged about it and received your reward from everyone around you. This should be about God. Not about you. And if you were carrying my baby for me...for free? I would want you to keep your mouth shut about it because it's none of UA-cam's business! I can bet the real mom and dad don't appreciate your attention seeking behavior via THEIR baby.
When u become a blessing to another of God's children, which we all are, is will pour u out a blessing so big there won't be room to contain it. U being a couple, no a family of faith, know where what I just said comes from.
I am 67, never was able to have children, but it doesn't make my joy for u all any less. U bless my life just by watching & seeing you pass on the joy to others.
I wanted to be a surrogate for someone after I had kids. Sadly I didn't meet my husband till later in life and then we struggled with fertility ourselves. In the 2 countries I've lived in as an adult the only compensation you can legally receive is food costs, travel, and prenatal vitamins and maybe help towards maternity clothes but I'm not sure of that. Oh and any legal costs I would think. I'd be very curious what the normal compensation is in the US cause it's such a different system, hospital and prenatal health care here is free but you only get a couple of trys for IVF after that you'd have to cover the cost for the IVF but once you're pregnant you pay nothing. I would be so scared in the US cause 1 thing wrong and you're bankrupt. You're so brave

Realistically, there is money on the back end involved. The amount of growth involved as a content creator with this kind of content must be a healthy amount. I really do enjoy watching the bond Sam and Kenzy have and this is incredibly kind and brave to wave the standard compensation, but make no mistake, there is financial gain at hand.
