Ive loved Andreys work for a long time. Glad hes getting more recognition with his work in the last couple years. You guys should definitely have some of the guys on that he mentioned; Chris Primm and definitely Josh Payne. I have work from both of them and they are great people

@@unemployablepodcast Thankyou you guys for making these every week! I’ve never felt the way I feel about tattooing for anything else and to see you guys talk about that and still feel that way after being in the industry for so long just makes it even that much better!
Tattooing is in my family like me and my little sister grew up running around a shop in Colorado in Seattle and my mom even worked for a shop in Florida for a bit. I have a huge passion for tattooing last year. I’ve spent tracing traditional art however, I have not committed full-time to it because I have a passion to be teacher. Truthfully, what do you think of somebody who is trying to be a tattoo artist while keeping the career meaning, maybe tattoo after school in the school gets out at 2 o’clock or on the weekends or the entire summer would respect someone like that. my mom always scold me about how this is disrespectful to the industry but if we’re talking about change in the industry is changing why can’t this be a part of the change?
I think this is a great question. Me personally, I will only take on full-time Artists. I know there are shops out there that have part-time Artist. I know the traditional mentality is all or nothing. I would say it really comes down to what you want. If you want to become the best tattoo artist possible why wouldn’t you put all your time into it? if it’s just a hobby or something fun to do then yeah, maybe part time would work out.

You know what they say about Florida? The further north you go the further south you are I spent the first 36 years of my life in Jacksonville.
Do you prefer Northern or Southern Florida?
@@unemployablepodcast unfortunately because I broke my ankle in 2000 and had surgery, then managed a 15 year opiate/ heroin addiction, I only like to visit now 😂 I was a body piercer for years in the Jacksonville area from 1998-2003 then 2008-2012.
I can tell you that I absolutely hate Miami. We went down when we were 16-17 and stayed with my friend’s sister for a few days. On the last night we were at the apartment laundromat washing clothes and smoking a blunt on the porch. Two guys road by on a bike, yes, 2 guys, 1 bike asking us what we were looking at. It was probably 9-10pm. Finally we said “nothing” and I noticed shadows on the buildings headed out way. Next thing we were running for our lives from about 30 Latinos . I only go to Miami when I am going on a cruise. Jacksonville is a shit hole. I love it, but it’s a shit hole. I started off piercing in the late 90’s and I was making around $80k a year. After my surgery and the doctors just giving me hundreds of pain pills for years (I didn’t realize I had an addiction for about 2.5 years) by 2013 I was homeless living in a tent. I woke up one morning in 2015 (May 26th) got on a bus to Ohio. I’ve been clean since the day I got here 5/27/2015.
