After decades of a perilous journey, Father finally brought back the Milk that never expires.
Yes, and he brought back strawberry milk.
Yes, he brought back milk. It was the Mario milk.

We never saw him take his clothes off. Manly takes showers with his clothes on confirmed.
@@kemistree. I presume he cries too while doing that.

Wait a minute... Guy at the gas station sees the murderer outside his window and upon you coming back he goes "you need to leave!" leaving himself alone and sending you back outside where the murderer was just seen. Hm... seems completely reasonable to me.
Probably he thinking if we leave then the murderer will follow us
Maybe he noticed the resemblance to Claire and thought she was in on it?
he wants you to leave bcuz the killer is following you. He thinks if you leave, then the killer will leave him alone.
The whole “story” was painfully reasonable.
If I were a murderer, and if I knew some people in town, I would totally spin them in. The gas station guy sends me the victims and the butcher takes care of the evidence.

I quite liked the tension throughout this, everyone in the town feeling a bit off, the building mystery as you get closer to the end. Alas, not too big a fan of the ending itself. It doesn't ruin the overall experience, but I think it being your alcoholic father who has been brought up once before is a weak reveal.
Yeah I agree. Then again it didn't really feel like it could've been anywhere else.
I knew it was him the moment the flashback happened.. But I agree it's weak.

Fun fact! The Minmo Cat Food boxes at 3:02 is a nod to Silent Hill 3 where a poster for the cat food is advertised in the subway. Finally, a proper store with showering facilities for testing shampoo. I hate having to go to the public bathrooms and washing my hair in the sink.
I like how there’s a killer on the loose and you’re in the gas station which presumably has lockable doors, with another person, with the police on the way, and the cashier guy is like “uhhhhh yea you gotta leave cuz like…yea” and your character is just completely fine with that.
Time to read your coffee to see whats up, because that is some deadly premonition type weirdness
I feel like these horror games should all have a story path that just leads to you saying "Fuck it" and going home. Having to barter with a guy at the grocery? Shit scented shampoo? A merchant who refuses to sell you anything unless you perform amateur electrical maintenance? Yeah, no thanks.
Hmm.. You didn't notice the gas station before, that's where your car should be?
I was thinking the same lol. All that bs and a killer on the loose? I'd rather eat dry cereal lol.
I think the visual style and atmosphere were on point...for the most part. It started to lose focus towards the end. But I am glad to see that Timmy and his creepy toy store weren't the bad guy, because that would have been too obvious.
Well according to the dev's comments, that dude IS her father. He just did so much drugs that his face changed and both didn't recognised each other, until AFTER Claire left the toy store.
@@changednamelit Thanks. People were saying her dad but that didn't make sense to me because there was a toy at that coworker crime scene and the toy guy was clearly hiding something with that attitude. But now it makes sense.
At least the toy store owner didn't charge after the player helps with the sign. Very fair!
I really liked how the game baits so many times with no breaks (the fetch quest for the fuses in the dark, the entire segment outside right after the butcher is murdered, the office hallway "chase", the just long enough to be uncomfortable forest walk, the trip to get the evidence, the walk to your car, several very slow loading bars, the car tires breaking, the shower scene, the peephole scene). It almost seemed like the twist was gonna be the fact that there is no twist. Aaand then it had the cheapest ending imaginable. Still think it's a very well-made game overall.
Honestly, I think the best ending would have been if after the MC sleeps, everything is back to normal. As in, the entire creepy nonsense(Besides the disappearances, to keep some sense of mystery going) was just her seeing stuff due to being extremely stressed out and tired:
-The guy in the slaughterhouse just had to take a sudden break outside for something
-the guy who seemed to follow her just had to do something in the office building
-there were no bodies(and those people are still alive)
-the creep that some people talked about was just that, a weirdo, not a murderer.
-The slashed tires were just some trolls picking a bad time to do their trolling.

When you choose no, the game forces you to accept the ride. The name doesn't matter. The game is completely linear and the choices are not relevant in getting any different outcome.

I like this game's style! I was quite disappointed in the ending tho. You hear the father's story at the end, then voila it's him. It was too anticlimactic for all the great build up and personalities encountered along the way. I was almost hoping it was Claire herself. Or you the identified player name. Something, anything but the PTSD story with an alcoholic father. I understand if it was based on a true story, but the game seemed to call for more either dark humor ending or total surprise.
game probably takes place in hawaii
wait, its a girl?
@@sneej791 The character didn't really feel like a girl or boy specifically, but the name Claire is typically a girl's name. If it didn't have the "e" on the end, it would've been the boy form of the name. I guess it can be a boy?? But I just assumed _girl_ because of the name and its spelling. Ooh - also because the father said, You're just like your mother. And yes, sons can be like their mothers, but that accusatory statement also made me think Claire was a girl.
I agree, I also feel that the game could have worked on not putting out so much exposition such as the scene at 36:30
Aight ima say smthng, Claire was either going through memory issues and was the murderer, the father is magic, or the father had set an elaborate trap days ahead while murdering multiple people for it.
Reasoning? the dead body's were all ahead of her, even though she was being chased, also how did they turn the meat man into a literal mean man in such little time, ik it's horror but my brain wants logic for some reason.

The scariest part of this video was Manly pouring in milk before the cereal!
I looked in the comments specifically to see if anyone said this.
These type of games feel so soothing to watch for some reason
I thought the big twist would be that Claire is actually the murderer, except since we're playing her and we see through her vision, that wouldn't be obvious until the very end. When someone knocked at the door I legit thought it would be police coming after MC, and that would be the hint that in fact, Claire was the one killing, and perhaps the person chasing her was a shadow of her past in the form of her dad. For instance: she previously killed her dad for the things she did to her mom, and instead of him (?) going "you're just like your mother" in the end it'd be ''you're just like me'' re: the PTSD of killing people. Then in the present when she kills, it's like she thinks it's him. I started growing suspicious when the Jake said "take whatever you want and leave" like she was the threath (it still makes sense in the context of the game anyway but that me raise an eyebrow).
Anyway, I really liked the game and I like the style and the artistic choice of using real, slightly off faces for the characters, and the music is also top notch and disturbing. Much love to you and your work Manly!
Yeah, would've been a bit cliche but a much better ending, this is just... Nonsense
The only way I could see that working is if Claire blacked out during the flashbacks or something
The bigger issue with this idea is the meatshop. You go in, dude is fine. You go out, the guy is dead without you having done anything. Unless we want to go with the logic that "I can smell how rotten this is" means that the guy has actually been dead for days and thus nobody was there to replace the meat.
31:20 I love how Everywhere at the End of Time starts playing here
The empty streets and the back rooms of the slaughter house were torturous. I was waiting for a jumpscare, for the stalker to attack or at least a sighting of him. The fact none ever came just rose my anxiety
I wonder if the game recognises when you input "Claire" as the name because if not it would be like "Claire? Who tf is Claire? My name is Claire!"

A scary and interesting little experience! The ending credit note was very chilling - I hope both the author and their mother are doing well.
Love watching these indie horror games from my favorite UA-camr: Claire
I'm torn on this one. I love the aesthetic and overall style, the music from that dementia album is nice, the fetch quest stuff is a bit... too standard for my tastes, and I also didn't like the ending. If it was Claire that was the killer and the flashbacks were some kind of blackout moment, I'd accept that (even if it makes no sense). Her dad stalking her for this long seems just as ridiculous, though, since wouldn't it imply he was following her for a long time to know where she was gonna be?
The blackout could be trauma linked
Finally a comment that isn't just dumb praise lol. This game was thoroughly mediocre imo
I love how the game was created by one person with influences, it’s just inspiring

moral of the video: don't go shopping order your groceries from home
The real horror here was the $15 milk...
This game was really good!! I enjoyed every last second of it. :)
Spoiler:
From watching Manly's playthrough, I think this is a gem in indie horror game with superb analog horror graphic, excellent tension building, interesting mechanics, and good story telling.
A bit cheesy, yes. It is your typical mundane-task-turned-horror at the start, but it also turned very differently from most game of the genre real fast. I think those memories flashback is a very nice touch. It adds context and complexity to the story, and tragedy to the theme. It begins almost comedically, but with each memory played, the atmosphere burdened. By the end, we have an ending that is rather bitter, just like real life. The game can be sectioned into "chapter", with the objectives in the shopping list as the chapter title. Each section got it's own charm to them. Instead of endless dialogues, occasionally you've got the money paying modal, the rewiring minigame, the robot UI, back mirror dash cam, etc... These helps spice up the game so that it doesn't feel boring throughout. Also nice writing, every section presents different characters that stands out in their dialogues (especially the store lady). Every once in a while you have some cool plot twist happening to throw you off guard a bit, but note that there is also some weird inconsistency in the plot to throw you off guard too. Read below to finds more about these inconsistency.... Nevertheless, there is a lot to be experienced in this 1-hour-ish game. Overall, the game present an enjoyable horror experience that keep you anticipating.
That's for my view on the gameplay. There are few details of interest to note throughout the game, something extra I'd want to share.
1) Claire is unable to show their ID to Ruben. Perhaps they throw away the ID that used the fake name out of spite?
2) Claire took shower once at public bathhouse, and once at their apartment. Like a mad man, both time there's no shower curtain, door wide ajar. I know in either scenario it is unlikely to have other people, but still. Is this entire game something in Claire's head because how mad they are?
3) Upon picking poop shampoo, no one actually comment on it. Perhaps everyone else in the game is ghost and unable to smell.
4) Timmy oddly discarded Claire's worries despite there are obviously missing posters all around. Furthermore, Toy Knife is found at the pile of body later in the company part. I suspect Timmy is the real murderer, and in the end our father is just coincidentally there.
5) If above is not the case, then the reason a toy knife appeared there is because as we leave Timmy shop, the father would killed Timmy and took a knife while he left.
6) Ruben shouldn't able to drive with that eye sight in night and in rain.
7) There is a child note at company, but no child can be found. Assuming the best, perhaps the florist is the dad? They got wrapped into the mess while delivering flower to the company, and witnessed murders there that's why the Florist is so anxious at the shop. Unlikely story, this is just a fun interpretation.
8) Wait remember the toy knife. Maybe the child is the killer of the body pile???
9) Claire recognizes the bodies. Perhaps they are Claire's acquaintance back in the hometown, or perhaps Claire at some point tried to look for employment in the company and come to know this company. Seems like this wasn't Claire's first time in the town.
10) At gas station, Claire mentioned of stalking and murdering, Jake ask for evidence. Claire agrees, and picked an convenient, but f--king unconvincing evidence. How does taking a missing poster justify anything?? It's even right beside the gas station where the guy worked, you think he would have seen that? What's the logic???
11) Claire's car is really rusty and old. Maybe Claire is desperate to move away, and willingly buy a cheap, second hand car.
12) Claire's car tires has being slashed. Seemingly caused by the stalker/murderer. Ruben is lying dead, next to the car. Perhaps Ruben found the stalker/murderer slashing, and thought it was vandalizing art and tried to stop them, and unfortunately killed in line of duty. Again, unlikely story considering his eye sight.
Finally, the credit mentioned that the game is based on the author's mother greatest fear. I hope wherever she is, she have made peace.
It think the Ruben driving the car was a fake somehow. Because he was driving his car, and then a bit later is dead by his police car.
I actually thought this game was really well done. These kinds of games don’t usually creep me out, but this one really got me on the atmosphere.
This game does a lot of thing really cool it sorta feels like a mash of those like consumer horror games we have seen recently
If Claire's father suffer from war trauma, isn't he supposed to not be allowed to be outside in public? If it was this severe to the point of him becoming a killer machine, he was supposed to be separated from outside world.
Also what triggered it?
@@DeathnoteBB maybe his daughter leaving him? And his wife's death maybe?
I really like this game all-in-all, but I *have* to say..
The main character's course of action is veeeery strange and unreasonable most of the time.
Doing favours for random people when you're not obligated to, was a bit "aight weird, but fine whatever, you do you"
But the whole bit about the gas station was just incoherent.
Ah yes, calmly go take a picture out in the open when a killer is *actively chasing you.*
Ah yes, instead of simply *locking the doors* to the gas station and waiting in *safety* for help to arrive, why yes- you *should* leave the gas station because reasons.
And needless to say: the ending was a bit underwhelming. I dunno if it was meant to be a twist or not, but I feel that the outcome was incredibly predictable, so much so that I actually expected something else.
It wasn't *bad,* so to speak, but I feel that there were more intriguing ways they could have done it.
