  • A more suitable Air Filter for the all Terrain, all weather Himalayan. After running, DNA filters, Pre-Filters, Paper filters, I have discovered the best of all for a bike that is used as a Dual Sport in all conditions. Oiled Foam has many advantages over other filter types when being used in an Offroad capacity, they filter better, they flow for longer, they continue to filter in wet conditions, they are easily cleaned.

totally agree on your principles, all my trials bike used a foam element, and i still have my foam filter cleaner and oil from my trials days, so i will give this a go. Thanks again.

This looks a good solution 👍 Do you still have the snorkel for extreme situations? 😅

I do still have the Snorkel 😁. Now though I'm running a foam element I'm not as concerned as the main reason I fitted the snorkel was to act as a prefilter when following riders on dusty trails. I'm super stoked with the Foam filter quality especially with it being oiled too.

Hi Guy, I am thinking of a tune kit for my Scram. Lots of options. If I was to keep the stock exhaust for now. Upgrading the filter. Etc DNA filter plate. Possibly stock filter. Adding a booster plug or a fuel lite/pro ECU. With the view to changing the pipe in a couple of thousand miles. Probably the Lextec sa1. What is my best bet as a combination? Can't see justice in a booster plug and an ECU piggyback. You are the man in the know I guess. Great channel by the way. Love it.
    Many thanks

Hello there :) I believe the Scram and Euro 5 Himalayans are harder to modify, due to their ECUs being more secure. Booster Plugs wont work for sure. However, there is a model called FuelX Pro www.tecbikeparts.com/product/fuelx-pro-himalayan-without-choke/ . The DNA Filter and plate makes a difference but there is a lot of induction noise. Personally, I would not run a DNA or K&N if you are planning on riding Dirt. The open pipe of decat will make a difference too. Have a look at TEC Bike parts channel, those guys have really helped me develop my Himalayan with the products they have produced. ua-cam.com/video/8WunMlunm84/v-deo.html

Hi there, on this bike, I don't run a booster plug or piggy back on the ECU. I find the TEC cam , an open downpipe and exhaust, and replace the air filter snorkel with an open plate is really all you need. My bike actually ran better with the booster plug removed.

So what is the bulge on the side plate for?

When I fitted the Stock GN125 Air filter Snorkel it protruded and made contact with the side cover, which restricted the air intake. The bulge created a bigger air gap between the filter intake plate and cover removing the restriction enabling the filter to breath better.
