Time rehearsing with the band was very limited, so KZ called her guitarist Makoy Portado for help. He caught a flight from Manila to Shanghai the morning of the show, they worked out the arrangement in the afternoon and performed it that night. Both of them killed it and I think this was KZ's best performance on the show. A Great Big World praised it highly at the time. Jessie J was one of the contestants and she ended up being the winner. Jessie J was one of KZ's idols and someone she borrowed from. There's an amusing and touching video from the first time they met on the show. KZ was so in awe she could barely speak. As the only English speakers on the show, they quickly became friends and Jessie J asked KZ to help out in the finale on the song Bang Bang. KZ looked so thrilled to be performing with Jessie J. I'm not sure if what I heard was true but the reason why KZ was so versatile was because she used to be a belter singer and something happened to her throat, I think, so she wasn't able to belt like she used to do and tried to find other genre that suits her voice but she thinks everytime that it is not the right one when she tried another genre until she mastered all the genre she tried😅😅. So no doubt why KZ was such a flexible singer.
