- Golden State Warriors VP of Player Health and Performance Rick Celebrini met with the media to discuss the San Jose Sharks winning the No. 1 pick. Rick's son, Macklin, potentially may be the first pick in the NHL draft.
I appreciate his humility saying "if" he gets selected despite the obvious fact that he will.
That is a class act. It's nice to see a Father with humility. The if part was perfect. This guy isn't living through his son.
Humility goes a long way doesn't it.
Yup and he was just picked Number 1. As expected .
As a local Oilers fan, I went to the Shark Tank two times this year to see my team play the Sharks. S.J. has a lot of passion for the Sharks, and they needed this big win. I'm happy for all Sharks fans. Remarkably, his dad works in local professional sports. Great Story, just awesome. Congratulations to the San Jose Sharks and the Celebrini family!
i respect that whole comment and fele the same way seriously 🙏🙏🙏
We’ve gone thru too much pain
Thank you brotha!!! 🦈
Im happy that the Sharks won the 1st overall pick they definitely needed Celebrini the most. And he also played with San Jose Jr Sharks U14 so theres a nice connection there aswell. Rick is just being humble here Macklin is 100% the best player available at #1
Who's he like that's in the NHL now or past?
Combination of Toews, Horvat and Bergeron.
so. you’re telling me. with all of those coincidences the sharks “won” it
@@martintorres8982 they put the sharks envelope in the freezer 😂
@@3lackavarWith more offensive upside though.
As a hockey fan, this is really cool. I had no idea about this connection.
Rick shouting out Chris Paul as the one who called him......... CP is a good dude.
hope he comes back on a vet deal. Besides how the season went.. he had our bench unit looking really good
he is?
This fires me up so much. Go Dubs and go Sharks! Let’s get it back on track for both of them next year!
Good for the Sharks man, they needed this.
Congrats to the entire Celebrini family! Can't wait to see Mackilin back in teal whenever he decides to leave BU!
Seems like a great Dad.
Son's gonna be a Dud
@@armuk you sound gay af
Congratulations San Jose! CHICAGO fan here. Us getting bedard made the stadium electric every time the puck was in his possession. I’m sure it will be the same for celebrini in San Jose.
Yo for Basketball fans who are new to hockey or think it’s not for them, give it a try! The games are really cheap right now while we are rebuilding, and the cheap seats is where you will meet all the families who will be happy to adopt you and teach you the ropes if you just tell them it’s your first game! Let the ushers know also, they are soooooo dedicated and wonderful. I know a couple of them from Reddit and discord and they are just amazing stewards of hockey fandom. We have a great team with a really great reputation, and our rebuild is really looking spicy!
So happy to be a Sharks fan!
On the come up baby! 🦈
I hope this turns the Sharks around, I'd love to see Mike Grier succeed as GM.
YES! Im a ranger fan, loved Grier as a player. Love seeing him as a GM now. Building the Sharks back up is needed.
It was meant to be for him to become a Shark. Awesome the Sharks finally get their 1st overall pick to build around. Would have been crazy if Chicago ended winning again, Bedard and Celebrini would have been unfair
Ah I'm a Wings fan but I was 1000% rooting for Chicago to get the #1 pick lol
Would have been cool to watch 2 generational players on the same team at that young
@@aepochbrettHave you never heard of Kane and Toews?😂. I mean Toews wasn’t a generational player but his impact on the Blackhawks was generational
Celebrini and Smith will be alright. Plus a second first round pick this year and two first rounders next season. Any way it shakes out this is a move towards returning to relevance as a franchise.
@@KevinQ25 Patrick Kane was NOT a generational player ... he was a very good player but not generational.
@@former2u Well he currently the best US born player of his generation and his resume speaks volumes and was picked #1 for a reason, he was a key part in turning around a bad Blackhawks team. So if points is all it takes to make someone generational, then I guess not.
I haven't cared for or watched Basketball since the 90s, but it was great to see Ricky's thoughts on the Lottery and Mack's future. It was fun to see the Golden State logo behind a long hockey press conference! 😆
As a blackhawks fan, yes I’m disappointed we didn’t get him, but it seems right for him to be a shark, played on the Jr. Sharks, its close to home, even the jersey in my mind looks more right on him than anywhere else. Only regret is that he won’t play with Bedard even in the world championships because they took him out
No it’s cool if you trade bedard to the sharks for filip zadina Macklin and Connor can play together!
y'all litteraly the most lucky fanbase of the last 20 years. Do you want the next 5 first overall pick too?
@@user-xg6sx5ev9u Success isn't built through luck. Yes, Blackhawks fans should want the first overall pick every year.
@@mr.brenman2132 y'all got kane toews and now bedard. I'm talking drafting franchise/generational talents high in the draft in recent memories. And now you have Bedard even after the controversies. You already have your franchise player, you might grab demidov lindstrom or the big right D as an other elite/franchise player. You can add to that all your other B prospects right now. That's more than enough for your foundation. It would have been a tragedy if you got your hands on Celebrini while teams like colombus never had cups and superstars in their history (you can debate for Nash, but that's it).
@@mr.brenman2132 i wouldn't have commented on it cause obviously he wants the first pick and the stanley cup every year i understand, but y'all on the golden states warriors channel not on the blackhawks chanel or even the nhl channel. We don't care, y'all spoiled enough
Go Sharks Go Warriors
We need them back in Vancouver.
"we assume if the Sharks were to select him" literally Mike Grier basically said they will be barring some unfortunate unseen incident.
So humble
the biggest culture change in all bay area teams is "Family" every team has some kind of "family tie" and its kinda cool to see
Go Sharks, Warriors, and Raiders!!!
Sooooo happyyyy
Great news! Great news!
As a Warriors fan, I'm sad this season is over. It really felt they were in a good place, but when you're in the play-in, one bad to awful game, and it's over. 😭😭😭😭😪😪
On to next year! Can't wait! 🥳🥳🔥🔥❤️❤️
The team isn't very good and they were not going to go anywhere. They have become slow and old to go along with being too short.
And you can watch Rick Celebrini's son play for our Sharks, the Bay Area's NHL team. :)
Grier already said he is taking Macklin so Rick can talk like it is so.
Bay Area Lets goooooooooo!
The only solutions...coach Q or Bérubé to shake things up! Bring some leadership experience and get rid of Tavares and Marner for a "return of investment even if it means losing a trade", Try to bring in the next best "Matthew Tkachuk" type of player. As for Goalies I would still run it back with Woll, Jones, Samsonov.
happy for him he will be the leader of the new sjs generation
See Vancouver,Canada is home to
All NHL mock drafts have fluctuations between picks 2-16
All NHL mock drafts have Macklin Celebrini at #1
Home is actually Canada
Weird comments. You came to watch this video about Macklin to talk about the Dubs.
ya i don't get it either, i decided not to respond to it. video about a proud father talking about where his son is likely to be drafted as 1st overall and then there's a comment about fans talking about how sad that the dubs season over or what they need to do improve in the offseason... what does it have to do with this video?
i won't even comment about the two onlyfans bot accounts with the call of duty comments lol
Why though? This is sjsharks stuff, not Dubs stuff.
Because he works for the Warriors? I thought that was kinda obvious....
If the sharks select? Oh he’s definitely go to San Jose
I mean really could there be a perfect fit better than this? The beauty part for the Sharks is no one can say they reached by taking him #1 overall. Do the right thing San Jose.
So the first pick is... What a show. Real sports do not exist anymore. They exist but not on TV.
yessir
they really put this man in front of a podium loll. pretty cool tho
The team is moving in this is happening?
These guys aren't carrying things on; they're exploiting the business and social infrastructure in order to destroy everything. To force a new city to adjust to a new team and take for granted the excitement an adaptive nature of the overall NBA fanbase while bringing in this young basketball superpower, this tremendous talent who nevertheless is a young pawn in the worst way to shake everything up, treating it as the greatest good thing when it's going to devastate what already exists... It's too much.
The apple obviously doesn’t fall far from the tree. Obviously.
only time ill ever watch an NBA video lmao
I’m a hockey fan first and love hockey more than any other sport but you should watch some basketball. It’s a fun sport . Nothing beats the excitement of hockey but the NBA can also be extremely exciting . Look up mash up clips of playoff buzzer beaters . Can’t deny how awesomely exciting that is.
Because the sharks won the first overall pick, the Celebrinis are staying in the Bay.
G-State Still Alive !! (DiVo !! ...)
😮
As I understand, generational meaning someone that good comes around every generation. If Cerebini is generational and Bedard is generational, how long is a generation nowadays 🤔
The term is too loosely used IMO.
Celebrini isn't considered generational. Crosby-McDavid-Bedard were all viewed as generational and we're almost 10 years apart (2005-2015-2023)
Who is this guy?
Rigged
San Jose had the best odds but I absolutely agree, the NHL made sure a team with a lesser chance would not jump over the Sharks! Basketball rigged too
Warriors need to get a a better defensive coach, a true Big man and Wings who can help Steph and get 20+ points a night. Keep the core and add the right pieces. Tell Steve small ball isn’t a threat anymore. Everybody can shoot 3’s now.
Keep the core??? LOL. They are too old, too slow, and too short.
What does this have to do with Celly?
Hockey is better then lame basketball.
dam i aint even know his dad do this........ lol
😂😂😂 that his dad he take of his son
@@ChristianonlyhockeyEdit You speaking English bro?
@@mr.brenman2132 yeah why you speak English?
@@mr.brenman2132 you are American

Lol this guy looks like a meme
Poor kid is going to lose half his money to taxes in California. Refuse to sign in SJ.
Just imagine if he went to Canada, they’d tax him 90%
California generates more revenue than any other state in the US by far. Stay triggered righties!
Mark my words. Gier will no select Macklin, this guy thinks he’s smarter than the game.
Sharks are forever poverty
Huh??
if only the Warriors had bought the Sharks and moved them into their new arena they'd have a much higher profile. Sad though, I wonder if Rick knows how much the NBA hates the NHL?
You must not realize how often a hockey players and basketball players cross paths. Especially in the world of golf.
@@JohnTheAngryBuddhist You must not realize I'm not talking about the players, but the NBA and most of its teams.
@@geoff3103I like their arena. Winning will raise their profile.
@@mr.brenman2132hasn't yet. And IF they win.
@@geoff3103 How has it not?
Macklin Celebrini> joins the sharks> Sadabrini
He'll get traded to the leafs for Marner lmao
It’s great to have your kid play for local team! But you can tell Macklin in the interview little down he knows he wants to be with Connor bedard! Two local Canadian for Chicago! Either one it will be great to see San Jose for this!
No
People have the fucking weirdest imaginations and say the dumbest shit. Yeah he totally doesn’t want to go to the same region his parents and siblings live.
And live in his shadow for almost ever? 🤦♂️
Rick is a nobody.
Yeah he’s only the director of sports medicine and performance for the Golden State Warriors.
And who tf are you¿
Commiefornia doesn't deserve Macklin, he deserves so much better than a losing culture. Macklin, my dude, refuse to sign/play for the san jose guppies
😂 what a weirdo
California is the probably the most capitalist place on the planet lmao
Internet tough guy
Must be a Blackhawks fan.
Stay off the booze, twinkletown.
