This performance is the first chapter of a profound journey-born from my collaboration with Elian Zeitel during my residency at Cité Internationale des Arts.
It captures the emotions and challenges I faced during my first six weeks in Paris, navigating the often harsh realities of being an immigrant. Blue Facade serves as an honest reflection of these experiences, delving into themes of identity, displacement, and resilience.
At its core, this work is about confrontation-the emotional and structural challenges of navigating a new life. The performance simplifies the architectural essence of Parisian streets into drawn lines, transforming facades into metaphors for identity: fragmented yet holding strong.
🎶 Music becomes memory. Reimagined Romanian folk songs, performed by Elian Zeitel on piano, have transformed into a lullaby-a daily ritual of self-soothing amidst the unfamiliar.
Blue Facade is not just a performance but a dialogue between music, writing, dance, and visual art-a formula I’ve created to process and express the multifaceted experience of migration. It is part of my larger project, ”Dans Ma Rue”, an homage to immigrant women artists whose stories echo through the streets of Paris.
