If only we could get back to these days again. I never left them. Class of 1989. 1986 was my freshman & sophomore years. I use to ordwr videos on Video Music Box on cable tv back then. God i miss those days. 2Ks suck.
Animal House on Halls Ferry next to ( Castle Point ) was the place to go on a Friday night. I still remember that place used to jump off man. There eaz no place like it, I will Never forget it. STL circa 1986
Straight up classic & my Deaf HIP-HOP loving ass KNOWS IT!! I had this album on tape..it was quite sonically unique at that time! ✊🏽💪🏽🤬😎 May y’all be safe in this nutty world. ✌🏾
I remember having this cassette then buying all the other artists that was featured on it I was 13 in 86 & loved when they did the video for UPTOWN KICKIN IT
Thanks for the upload ! I bought this cassette when it was new probably over 30 years ago . I still have it , along with 100s of other cassettes and mix tapes . This was a great album and Heavy D was such a slept on rapper . He was hella nice on the mic . You never had to fast forward any of his songs on any of his many albums / cassettes either . I've lived in Northern Cali my whole life , but gravitated very heavily towards East Coast rap . Heavy D albums always fit nicely into my collection as a nice contrast to Eric B. & Rakim , Big Daddy Kane , and my P.E. albums . Rip Heavy D .
This compilation album was more of a sneak peek of what would everyone comes to expect from Uptown Recordings, and boy they were right about that. Yep, Yep!
Yoooo!!!!! I grab this joint from solid gold when it dropped. We had listening parties back then. That's when all your boys came over and dubbed it. Lol man... nostalgia!!! Lost this and all my vinyl in a fire back in 2010. Thank you for this 👍👍👍👍

Super def album. Got this on us import from Groove records in london back in 1987.
I saw the Uptown crew perform this album live at the Animal House in St. Louis Mo. One of the most enjoyable experiences as a teenager.
RIP Heavy D

True classic!!!!! Pre-Bad Boy era
Well Bad Boy was more like the successor to Uptown in 1993.
DC go go influence was so heavy in early hip hop
I miss that music
I wish I could get that on cd
