Bummer, you had to relocate, but I can't imagine a better person who has a redundancy in place. I'm catching this on replay. I hope the weather is still treating you folks okay out there. Stay safe. 🤙🏾
As I recall, you had the Kenwood D710GA in one of your vehicles running VHF/UHF. I believe you liked it at the time for its APRS capability. Just checking my memory! LOL
Great memory. I still have it and use it. That radio is great. I have the DigiRig mobile connected under the passenger seat with a 3' USB cable going into the center console. It's really nice to use it with EmComm Tools for packet operation from the tablet. However, I will still use the Kenwood's native APRS capabilities if I don't have my laptop or tablet with me.
Dang, I was on my other channel and didn't see this notification. Watching it now. I'm interested in your emcomm tools. I'm picking up a ruggedized Dell Surface this weekend and I'm thinking about wiping and loading Linux. I have a PanasonicFZ-G1, but im using that for storm spotting, so i dont want to run Linux on it. I have my Tech license and a Xiegu G90. Also have the TYT TH-9800 in a manpack that I'm trying to get set up with the digirig. That's giving me trouble, but I'm not giving up. I love your stuff. It's really got me going again into prepping after becoming too complacent.
I have to FZ-m1 ready to go is there any ETA on when I can send them to you for you to load emcomm tools onto them? I believe you said that will be an option in the future for Buymeacoffee members?
Thanks for making and presenting this!
Great summary and update, Gaston.

2:55 Absolutely hold in my hand- may even burn it to a disk if it’s a download!

Wish I was in QUARTZFEST too.
Tell Kriss hello
Will do! You missed 30 degree temps and 40mph winds. ;-) 73
With the ICOM 705 not having APRS (has DPRS), does it allow the 705 to do APRS? Also, can an ICOM ID-52 / 52 Plus also work with the software?
Plug and pray =))))
where's et phone home? lol sorry couldn't resist.
Is kiwix in the r4 install or do we have to put that in manually?
It's in R4, which has not been released yet. R4 is coming the first week of April.
@TheTechPrepper I am looking forward to it. I just got R3 installed this week and am hoping to make a contact this weekend.
So HAMs can put up antennas that don't fall down in the wind but not AV equipment? 🤣
