Dude I have watched many of your vids \ loved 'em all I just want to say as a 66 yr old , in the surf game for 25 yrs that while fishing is great fun to see you fishing with your buds reminds me that fishing with friends is even better true bonding memories you will have 25 from yrs from now
Wake and bake?? 🤔 I never heard that expression used in terms of fishing before!😂 When fishing for Bluefish, I will ALWAYS use a metal lure. My experience is that schooling Bluefish will hit almost anything, especially silver colored. So the rattletrap has my vote for sure. However those other lures look great, but I just prefer simplesaty. My favorite would be some kind of spoon. That's just me! This was a fun video to watch, for the Bluefish bite was ON FIRE!🔥
im thinking about getting a 3 piece medium/heavy 15' rod to pair with my diawa df100a, 100lb braid and 8/0 circle hook to go dock fishing for some monster catfish and carp. i use large reels because i have a metal plate with 3 screws, nerve damage and limited range of motion in my left wrist/hand. thoughts?
Hello, thank you very nice video nice to watch as a family. Could you make a video with the sabiki. I practice this technique with my daughter but I do not master it properly from the beach or rocks. Thank you and good luck to you .
New subscriber. Love your channel! Recently bought new Rattle Trap (coincidentally),, and 10 minutes later, caught a redfish in the local bayou with a $15 kiddie reel (just for fun)!
Awesome! If you found this helpful you gotta check out my website, I custom make a ton of gear to help you with your next fishing trip! www.heyskipperfishing.com 😁
i caught my PB mangrove jack/mangrove snapper with LiveTarget swimbait..BUT, huge but, toothy fish disintegrate this lure super fast. for it price i just wish it has tougher body like zman or somethin.
Big weighted lures = Slabs..... that's what we called them. I'm surprised we didn't see any birds attacking the surface b/c there are special times when the fish are running the bait fish against the beach & up to the surface which it looks like you're almost in one of those moments? Close to it & when it does happen, you can throw treble hooks out & catch fish? I'm not kidding but great show... I love it. peace & be safe!
One time I was up in northern Wisconsin on vacation and the only thing I used for a week was one rattletrap and caught everything on it. Even caught a musky on it which was unexpected. Wasn't very big maybe 2 1/2 feet long. So bringing my big honking tacklebox was a waste of time...I even bought a net for the week that I actually used. The Indians had speared the year before so the walleye fishing wasn't that good by now it's probably good again been five years or so.
I love cast my metal Jig far away at my local fishing pier fishing 🎣 with metal Jigs is great any species of fish hits it because saltwater fish are predators so they eat anything
So honest question, why don't you guys and gals use really thin steel leaders? We have lots of toothy fish up north here in the Great Lakes region, and we use thin steel leaders for pike and musky and it really helps us from losing lures. When my friend and I go down to Florida, we will be using some thin steel leaders to cast in the surf for sure. lol. Anyway Great video as usual. Maybe when we go down to Florida we can all hook up and fish together some day. :)
When the water Is very clear, the steel leaders are too visible and scare the fish. In Texas the surf water is brown from minerals, steel leaders will catch anything in brown water.
@@HeySkipper Yeah, we have gin clear water most of the time where I am in Michigan, but we catch fish on steel leaders all the time. I will have to try some different stuff out while I am down there to see if I can find something that works. I hate losing lures, it can get too expensive if they bite off too many of them. lol.
These experiments are not fair and really misleading to beginners, because they are way to broad because it may not matter for something like mackerel, but something like snook it does matter how realistic.
I suppose I could clarify. I always know if I still have a bait on the line. If I don't find fish, I can move to where they are. I only have 30 years experience, but it might just be my constantly moving around that works. I have spent a whole day drowning baits and caught nothing. I've never been skunked with an artificial. Lots of variables, I suppose.

Wow what a goober. How can you compare a metal rattle lure with double trebles to a realistic plastic lure with a single hook? Of course the live targets have a specific purpose and fishing them on the beach for bluefish is obviously not the ideal situation for them 🙄

Great action! I've got to get out and start fishing. I'm in Palm Coast, FL now. Just moved here a few months ago.

I would go with 40-50lb braid max. I caught a handful of 25lbs 35+in catfish with 15lb braid
Good fishin fellowship and fun..Thanks bro..

Yea. U need a stell leader with all them blue’s running. When it’s like that I will throw a bunker head. Cause on the bottom there are big bass eating
Thank for the footage 🤙😎
Great job bro
Hi from Mew Zealand. I was just wondering if you ever use fish bites? We can now get them here in New Zealand and they have really taken off.
Did you use a sinker or is it just the lure you’re sending out?
give away black daimond rod bro😅 btw big love from india really loved ur all videos specially surf fishing with
baits🥰
i caught my PB mangrove jack/mangrove snapper with LiveTarget swimbait..BUT, huge but, toothy fish disintegrate this lure super fast. for it price i just wish it has tougher body like zman or somethin.
What brand and length rod are you using?
Don’t cut the line with your teeth. It will chip them. Get nail clippers
Too late for me, already chipped cutting line with my teeth. You are absolutely right
Did not know this
You sound like my mom...of course she was right
Yup, expensive dental work as a result learned the hard way
I’ve caught fish with the rattle trap before. I have the live target but I’ve never caught anything on it.
Nice bluefish blitz

I LIKE THE RUBBER BAIT
where do you fish at mate?
I love cast my metal Jig far away at my local fishing pier fishing 🎣 with metal Jigs is great any species of fish hits it because saltwater fish are predators so they eat anything
Love casting the metal jigs too!
What kind of lure that suitable for night fishing?
Poppers
Nilbog…..that’s goblin spelled backwards hahaha
We need more surf fishing

Gotta use a steel leader with those swimbaits bluefish annihilate them lmao
Is that Bama Beach Bum's spots
matel leder so jou dont get bitten of ????
Damn Bluefish galore, to many other good fish that are better eating than bluefish. Well I know you enjoy eating them so have at it.
I will one day commit to lures but till then I’m all about lice and fresh dead
My prediction is that the rattle trap will out perform.
My favorite part {it smells like bacon 😂)
Haha
Of course lures are designed to catch fishermen, not fish. The fish don't have any MONEY!
Hehe,
These experiments are not fair and really misleading to beginners, because they are way to broad because it may not matter for something like mackerel, but something like snook it does matter how realistic.
👍
I like donuts
Don't waste your money on apples ..... oranges are cheaper.
The topwater rapala stick lure is useless, should have bought this rattler
Not plastic anymore..... 😅
Blue fish will hit a floating dog turd lol.
Even mullets
Lures will always out perform natural bait. Fool em, don't feed em.
That’s a good point, but sometimes they don’t want anything except live bait
Sometimes lures are better, but in my 50 years of experience, bait works a lot better.
I suppose I could clarify. I always know if I still have a bait on the line. If I don't find fish, I can move to where they are. @@iancaen2977predator fish eat live bait

Rubber, not plastic.

Why are you just keeping and killing all of those fish? Why dont you just rhrow tyem back if you are not eating them
