Growing up there as a teen in the 80s, 20 something in the 90s it was amazing. Years of being a heroin addict and having literally over a hundred friends die on these streets, the gentrification and now the city abandoning poor, working class and the unhoused and addicted. Hipsters and techies and fake progressives. Sad. Like this song. RIP The City. 😢

La música está genial para relajarse, pero realmente odio en todos estos grupos estilo shoegaze o indie que tengan esa recalcitrante fascinación por hacer videos hablando de la vida diaria como si eso fuera algo interesante, fuerzan un contexto específico para supuestamente aumentar la "inmersión" de la canción, pero la verdad es que es muy aburrido y molesto tener que tragarse 5 minutos de dos personas desconocidas hablando de ir a comprar el pan o planeando su próximo viaje a Kuala Lumpur solo para que te creas más que "es un tema que habla sobre la degeneración del interés amoroso ahogado por la ponzoñosa rutina de nuestra sociedad" o alguna cosa así. Joder, no te basta con hacer una letra "profunda" llena de metáforas y evocaciones, tienes que además meterme un video de 9 minutos sobre dos randoms teniendo la misma conversación que tienen mis vecinos en la panadería porque supuestamente eso tiene mucho significado y es "artísticamente varguandista". Claramente este estilo puede llegar a ser el summum de lo pretenciosidad intelectual o como se decía hace años: de lo hipster. En fin a pesar de todo como dije al principio está bien para fumarse un leño relajadamente.
