Dovreste trattare più spesso le performance di Victor Borges, perché sono uniche, incredibilmente esilaranti, senza mai scadere nel volgare. Borges è divertimento puro, sempre con eleganza, con affabile ironia. Non ce ne sarà mai più uno come lui.

Marilyn Mulvey performed with Borge for many many years. She held it together pretty well and while his routine was rather practiced and well rehearsed she said she often had no idea which schtick he would do on a given night so she’d just have to hang on and react in the moment, which is not the way classical singers tend to be trained. There’s a video that must have been from one of their first performances together where she almost cannot keep her composure which is a lot of fun to watch and presents a nice contrast with performances like this one where they were more used to each other. Nobody who uploads Victor Borge clips tends to include this but typically after the silliness Marilyn would sing something with Victor accompanying her straight and letting her have the spotlight for a bit. 😊
