As someone who worked with high end jewellery, warm water, blue dawn dish soap and a soft toothbrush are your best friends for cleaning! Diamonds shine like crazzzy after
Only a little blue soap with mother of pearl and don’t get it very wet at all! It really is a delicate stone when you get it wet! I’ve had to send away for so so many repairs
Soap and water for sure. I actually use Reshoevn8r on my diamonds and other jewelry. It’s a premium gentle cleaner that rinses well. The diamond sparkle after drying with a soft cloth.

I also have the same necklace, but here are my extra thoughts about it:
- The chain keeps rolling up and getting tighter on my neck, so I have to constantly unroll it or else it starts to choke me 😂
- The chain is a little too tight for me, but you can have it extended for free for up to 5cm, extra length will cost you and if you want to reverse it, it will cost you. So i got it extended and it took a week and I love it.
Vca customer service is always great and helpful and I think the onyx choice or the guilloche necklace is the best choice. However, I love the carnelian and malachite as well.
Totally with you on the butterfly. I love VCA but I prefer the alhambra 🥰 Beautiful necklace!

We just passed by one of their boutiques in Vancouver, and they welcomed us with free drinks. However, the sweet Alhambra piece that I was hoping to try on was not available, and the jewelry specialist said that it might take 2-3 months if we place an order... I enjoyed watching this video , you seemed very passionate about what you’re talking about so I decided to get me an onyx cross for my birthday. I was skeptical but you’ve sold me on it being sturdy I’m getting mine from David Yurman they make really nice jewelry for men and women they aren’t well known like Cartier and other brand but they are definitely up there like VC&A

Same I just purchased the vintage onyx two months ago and I went in wanting the mother of Pearl and they convinced me to get the onyx. I will probably go back and get the mother of pearl because I like the color for spring and summer.

I keep thinking of trying an onyx piece. I am torn between that and the small frivole earrings. It looks great on you. I agree that VCA has the best customer service. I have been to almost everyone of their boutiques in Vegas and I have received great service every time.
it's always so good, it's the only brand that I have cero complaints in regards to customer service
I got the frivole because I work out a lot and always end up covered in sweat. It’s just so cute and carefree.

@@mbelieve9919 Oops I just realized that you were talking about the earrings. I got the necklace in mini. I think mini is a good size for an everyday piece. It's almost as big as the Alhambra vintage size, as I have tried them side by side. If you want a statement, go for a larger size :)

I have the MOP in the sweet size (the same one as you want). It looks dull on my fair skin (still looks beautiful though).
I don't like the rose gold from VCA. It looks way too coppery. I like it better when it looks softer

Hey Lou! Had a question. Just got the vintage alhambra in onyx. As I took it out of the box I noticed space between the stone and the gold part surrounding the stone. Have you ever noticed this about urs or heard of anyone having this too?
I was contemplating between the sweet and vintage size and settled for the latter eventually. I also went for the onyx because I don’t really want to fuss over my necklace. No regrets so far!

i learned that they recommend not letting the stone touch water because they put a thin layer of chemicals over the stone to keep it shiny and the hot water makes it more dull over time. i think it also depends on the stone too, malachite is very delicate so i wouldn’t recommend it for daily wear but onyx is super durable and you can’t tell the wear and tear 🥳
it's still intact and so beautiful I'm so glad I went with onyx! never take it off

off topic but i wanted to purchase the oversized Toteme sweater on farfetch too, looks cute, but is it good quality? asking cause it's hard to find good quality wool or cashmere sweaters that don't pill..
I love onyx and really wanted to buy it but dont want to take it out for shower as i always forget to so thats why didnt buy it. After listening to you i think i can shower in it and i should go for it.
I have been going between the Cartier Amulette in onyx and the VCA Alhambra in onyx for awhile now... I tried them both on last month & I think I liked the Amulette better?? I don't know, though. I love VCA as a brand. I'm thinking of getting the Amulette and then maybe the sweet Alhambra down the road to stack. Anyone else in the same boat?
Edit: I am surprised you had a better experience at VCA than Cartier, because I found the opposite! It def made me like the Amulette more I think
I have the amulette in mop and the vintage Alhambra necklace in mop and grey mop. I like both but the Cartier feels more subtle, modern and chic. The alahambra is more feminine feeling, but has more presence in the vintage size. I layer my amulette but I prefer the vintage Alhambra size not layered.

Not sure if you will see this but I have been wearing my sweet mop necklace for about 2 years now every single day. I dont take it off and I havent had any issues with luster or shrinkage.

However, if you do get the sweet size mother of pearl, you really shouldn’t shower with it as water takes out the luster of the pearl.

I wear my white gold vintage Alhambra all the time. I do take it off at night. I don't mind because I love MOP. I will add to my collection and love the Malachitea and other stones. I take very good care of it because it is fine jewelry. I prefer VCA over Cartier. In the luxury world, I think Cartier pieces are too common. I want something special and uncommon. Their online Customer Service is also incredible. I think the sweet size is nice. It's personally too small for my taste. I would definitely get a magic necklace.

You can extend the length. Up to 5 cm free, any longer and it costs more. For the necklaces that is, I haven’t inquired about the bracelet.

@@carol5107 there are only two ways to pronounce jewelry. “Jool ree” or “joo uhl ree”. Both end with ree, none ends with lee, she says lee. I’m just trying to let her know it’s ree not lee. This is not about accents.
If those necklaces would not be expensive, just a little people would wear them. The design is quite lame and basic
