    This was a really nice pattern and it turned out perfectly when i made it.
    For the record, i used 3 balls of 100g medium weight yarn. I made the length of the skirt to be about 2 inches above knee level.
    Also, i noticed some people complaining it turned out small but was their waist size. So you're actually meant to make the skirt circumference based on a chain which is the hip measurement and not the waist measurement.
    I hope this was helpful for someone atleast.

      I wish I read this comment earlier. I had completed 200g of yarn worth of skirt...... Only to open everything because I had made increases and decreases and it turned out to be awful. All because I took waist measurement instead of hip measurement. I am sooooo saddd.

    We absolutely do understand you and can follow your instructions easily, so don't ever worry about that. This is the second skirt I'm making from this pattern, and will likely have to make 5 more once my nieces get a look at them! I loved this pattern! I extended the skirt to just above the knees and added tassels then made a matching top. Quickly became my favorite matching set!
    A couple months ago I would’ve been intimidated by this pattern but your tutorial was very clear and the pattern is surprisingly easy.
    Thank you and keep up the great work! :)

    For anyone making this i would recommend doing a double crochet foundation chain, its more flexible than doing a foundation chain ans then double crocheting along it and makes the work more even! After i have finished ill let everyone know how much wool i used
    Edit: i gave up after finding i did it too small but the waist was bigger which i was confused about, but i got about half way using 100g of wool in total

    • @feyibadmus
      @feyibadmus Рік тому

      It could probably be the chain stitch you make during the mesh pattern
      OR
      You didn't measure the hip. Probably you measured the waist for the chain.
      It came out fine when i made mine.

      I'm not sure if either of you figured it out but I was also very confused but after the 3 row of shells I did the mesh pattern again. Just double crochet and skip every other stitch. And it'll work itself out, it looks a little wonky at first but it looks good in the end.

      I figured it out, after your last shell row, do your chain 3, then skip the first stitch and continue with the half double crochet and chain one pattern into the shell. So into the the shell you make a HDC, chain 1 then skip a chain then HDC, chain one all the way through.

    Hello. I'm in the middle of crocheting this skirt but I don't know how to transition from the shells back to the double stitch skip one. I really hope you can get back to me soon as I am stuck. By the way you are an amazing teacher and I love that you include mistakes so I realize that I'm not the only one messing up

    • @feyibadmus
      @feyibadmus Рік тому

      Hey there! It's simple. I will try to explain as much as i can.
      So once you're done with the shell stitch row, you chain 3/4 (i made ch 4, ch 3 for my double crochet and ch 1 for the space of the mesh stitch), then you skip the first stitch of the shell and make a double crochet into the second stitch of the shell. So you keep following the pattern (1DC, CH 1, Skip 1 stitch).
      If your stitches are the right number, you'll always have a double crochet on the treble stitch between each shell stitch.
      I hope you were able to understand. :)

    • @claraaaa4253
      @claraaaa4253 Рік тому

      Hopefully this can help someone else. The easiest way to transition is to just double crochet into each stich around. (A total of eight stitches per shell bloc.) You should have the same number of stitches as your starting chain.

    Word of caution!!! : That measurement is of hip circumference not waist circumference!!!!
    I had completed 200g of yarn worth of skirt...... Only to frog (open) EVERYTHING because I had made increases and decreases and it turned out to be awful. All because I took waist measurement instead of hip measurement. I am sooooo saddd.

      I used 100g for half of it with medium wool (as I gave up halfway through) so I would guess around 200g for all of it

    there's always a pattern but no one ever tells what to wear underneath the piece so our underwear doesn't show😔

      I would wear a waist slip but make sure the dress is longer than the slip
