Hi Jose, Just refilled my cartridges with PC inks for the 3rd time and the prints are still great. They haven't been "full" refills as I'm still extending the number of prints to come up with a safe number so that none of the cartridges go empty; last time was 50 8x10s and a handful of 13x19s. Great video on this subject and xp15000. I have two questions that I need your opinions. Does the xp1500 feed and print on premium matt presentation? Can the carts be filled the same way you've done it with sublimation ink? Thanks very much for the great content.
Hello Jose, I really enjoy watching your informative videos. If I get the message that my black is empty and it will not allow me to do anything. Will I still be able to use that cartridge? I have to order ink to refill my cartridges.
Once you go empty the cart can no longer be filled to max capacity. If you intend to refill you first need to install chipless firmware from www.inkchip.net and then never allow them to become empty. Once you install the FW they ink levels will remain always full. SO...you need to top all 6 carts like every month. depending on how much you print. The full weight will be 26 grams. If you let them go empty you will only be able to fill them about half way. That makes no sense.
@cheo1949 yes, thank you. So since I let the black show empty I need to purchase new cartridges and put in. Or do I purchase the chipless software then the new cartridges?
You must have waited till it was close to empty. PC showed why you should always fill when the cart weighs no less than 18 grams. Something gets tripped internally which will prevent you from filling it completely to a final weight of 27 grams. I will contact him to get the procedure to unlock the ink bag.
Hello Jose, thanks for the video. I did this method for the XP 630 ... Same thing I think - it worked thank you. i ordered the firmware from your link and saved $3. thanks for that also So I also check the link you gave for the the weights of the cartridges but the XP-630 did not have this one. do you know how i can get the full weight for these cartridges ?
great videos Jose...have a question regarding refilling epson xp-15000. do you think the inks will clog the jets sooner than normal or do you think the chiplesssolutions inks are as clean as the epson inks? I had a R1900 that had clogging problems with aftermarked inks that were supposed to be high quality. I don't want to clog the nozzles but would like to save some $$ with the ink.
There are no chiplesssolution inks. Chipplessolutions is a firmware that renders the X-15000 and other supported EPSON printers chipless. Meaning your ink levels are constantly reported as full. It's your job to make sure you phisically do not run out of ink. I am us in precisioncolors inks for with excellent results. Refilling your original carts is a blind process so you must use a gram scale and ink bottles with needle tips to directly dribble ink into the exit ports of the carts. You MUST top them off at least every 2 weeks to make sure you catch them with plenty of ink still in them and fill to 27 grams total weight. Or you can use less reliable refillable carts but they do not include chips. You need chips so the printer knows which color is what. They use sponges which is a terrible approach for EPSON printers.
Hello Jose, thanks for the valuable info. Do you know if the XP-15000 still performs a purge cycle when a cartridge is (re)inserted when the Chip-less Firmware is installed? This seems important, because you will have to check regularly if all cartridges have sufficient ink (and you cannot see it from the outside).
Yes it will. You lose about 2ml total ink each time. So you really have time your checks very carefully. I'm doing it about every month and a half or less if I am printing more than normal. I am going to be printing 20 almost 7x10 stickers for my grandson's upcoming birthday party so I will likely top off directly afterwards. But don't worry. The ink is pennies a top off and you have a user replaceable waste ink tank that only costs $10 to replace. I figure it will last one year at my rate of use. So I am not in the least worried.
Hi Jose, I'm curious if you are planning to continue this series about the XP 15000. Specially the chip less firmware from Inkchip. I had recent experience with this firmware ( version V2 and the 99 version) and must say it was a disaster so far. At first I had a lot of issues with registering the Inkchip firmware and afterwards occurring errors and a malfunctioning printer (error 031002, blank page printed and error 031001) I could not revert to the standard Epson firmware and had to send the printer to Epson for repair. Although the support from Inkchip was present and adequate. They had some tips an tricks but sadly they did not work out. Did not like the Inkchip menu structure at all but I could live with that if it would work flawless. I even ordered ink form Precision Colors (I know that was too premature.....) but that will be paperweight until Inkchip is presenting a flawless firmware update for the XP 15000 and then I still will be scared to flash the firmware again. Guess I stay on the original firmware and ink for now until I see and hear better things about Inkchip firmware for the XP 15000. This is not to rant on Inkchip but just my 2 cents and to let others overthink things before they flash there firmware. love to hear or even better see more vid's from you about the XP 15000. Stay safe and healthy!
They seem to be aware of that problem with the 15000. I as well as precisioncolors had installation problems. We ended up using an alternate firmware which I found a link for in inkchip help forum. I think it's the one that chiplessolution uses. I also used their installation software. You can install it with printer on without going through the service mode process. But even that one is not 100% trouble free. The installation freezes at around 97% and you get a NEXT or REPEAT notice. You are supposed to ignore it and click NEXT. The rest goes through without issues. Once finished and you click activate on line and paste the activation code, you will see a Recovery Code which you copy and paste in case you accidentally update to an EPSON firmware. There is a Recovery process that will allow you to go back to chipless condition using that same original Activation Code. Then you reboot the printer and now the ink levels will be at full. That was my experience with mine own and also PC. PC has explicit instructions on his XP15000 section telling you exactly what to do and use. Mine is running and printing without a single issue. I top off all my 6 carts to a total weight of 27 grams once every 2 months or so depending on how much I use it.
@@cheo1949 thank you for you reaction. I did all the things you mentioned but it left me with the error codes and printing blank pages. I will wait for a decent firmware or might check out refillable cartridges with ACR as I will soon receive the ink from Precision Colors.
Have a question. I have successfully made my hd do 15000 chipless. Took me a while but I finally got it done. My question is my black ink is not printing. I have replace the cartridge. Still the black is not working. I don’t want to run the epson software to clean the print head. Not sure if it will make my machine want chips again. If you know of anything I can do. I would greatly appreciate the knowledge. Even if there is a fix it utility I need to purchase I would love to know anything that might work. Thanks again for your time. Love your video. I have owned many epson printers sbc gave learned everything I know from your videos.
You are on a 15000 right? Running cleaning cycles will not revert you back to using chips again. Reinstalling the EPSON firmware will. What carts are you using. Originals you are refilling or the refillable ones being sold. Something happened to your black cartridge. Cleaning cycle and nozzle check. Your cart should weigh 26 to 27 grams when fully refilled. Installing the chipless firmware will not cause any ink delivery problem. Only the carts will affect that.
@@cheo1949 REPLY actually I am using a chipless cis system I ordered from alibiba. I also gave refillable cartridges for it. When I installed the chipless system the only way I could get my printer to accept the firm ware was delete everything epson like the printer app. I also had to uninstall it from my iPhone to be able to print from my phone to the printer. I was so happy when I got it to work chipless my. Took me 2 to 3 weeks but I finally got it. Printed fine until the black ran out now that I have installed the cis I was afraid if I install the epson program to run the cleaning cycle it would change the firm ware back. How can I install with out changing the firmware back? I am not a computer genius.
I have also tried different black cartridges which I stored in ziplock and were working fine when I removed them. That why I know it’s not the cartridge clogged it’s the printer clogged.

I know it’s not the program or the cartridge it’s probably just lack of ink with air. Since I had to totally uninstall everything epson for it to work just not dure on how the run cleaning cycle to clear out the clogged print head. I have an epson artisan 1430 as well great printer I use for sublimation. I clean that one with a syringe and a tube . But this print head is not the same.
Hi Jose, I'm late in the game looking for a printer but I finding something different in the description model Expression Photo HD XP-15000 Wide-format Printer is the same as the XP-15000? the other has "HD" on it?
You installed InkChip Firmware and rebooted the printer?? You should show a different FW Version in your nozzle check from your original FW Version. That's how you know you had a successful install. In fact you don't even technically need actual chips any longer. Did you refill your original OEM cart? Did it ever show as ALWAYS 100% full?
@@cheo1949 thank you for taking the time to answer, seem like the problem is at the activation utility, always show “Activation code write failed” I just communicated this to inkchip to figure it out what is the problem, again thank you for your videos
How do u know if you go chipless on the cartridges? They seem to have two different kinds of refilling cartridges but I don’t know if there is a huge difference of chipless?
What do you mean??? When you go chipless all the channels will always report FULL. You use your own original cartridges not REFILLABLES. You refill them as on my demo so that they weigh 27 grams. Do not wait until it's too late and near-empty as there's no way that you are going to know when a cartridge is about to go empty so make it have it a habit to top off to 27 grams every couple of weeks topping all the cartridges.
The last generations of CANON printers. Though some?EPSON that were LOCKED in North America were non in Europe. All the new EPSON CANON Printers can not currently use 3rd party products. ANYWHERE.
I don't see why not. But these carts are very small and once you go chip less you have to fill up on a strict schedule since you no long have ink level support
Jose great video... Do you know where I can buy Red Sublimation ink for the XP 15000 I'm stumped ..thanks .... If anyone here know where I can get the red sublimation ink please let me know
Yes but there's no easy way to drain the carts. Besides if could drain them you will trigger an internal valve that will prevent you from refilling them to full capacity. You could use refillable but they truly suck. You also need to install a Chip less firmware on it. It can be a bit difficult process.
Of course. You can not reset these chips. In order to do this with a USA based XP15000 you need to render it chipless. Using firmware from www.chiplesssolutions.com or www.inkchip.net
Hi Jose, at 14:16 you mentioned the issue about empty cartridge. Now the black ink on my cartridge runs out and I am not sure if the cartridge can still be refilled without the need of reopening the inside bag using the needle? Also, can you fill original cartridge that is half full with PC ink? PC website told us to only fill empty cartridges.
Hi Jose, thanks for all the videos, i bought an epson xp 15000 used (180 euro with almost full original cartridges, new costs about 390 euro) i want to ask why not use a chip resetter ? i found several for the XP 15.000 (it seems they works only on European Printer model, but mine is European luckily). Have you never used a chip resetter ? Do they work ? I want to use my original cartridges i have 2 set (6x2) of XL cartridges, how many grams can i fill-up them ? always 27 grams ? i will check the new ones when they will come to me, here the cartridges are numbered 378xl and 478xl. Let me know about the chip resetter. Another solution is to replace the chips with auto-resetting chips, did you tried ?
Another question is: Do i need to do something in particular to refill oem cartridges ? Do i need to make some hole or just simply refilling them with your method ? I suspect just refill them.
You just dribble ink directly into the exit port the full weight is 27 grams. Watch my video. You can not allow them to reach empty as an internal valve is triggered and you will not be able to fill them to capacity. You guys are lucky. Ours can not be reset. We have to install Chipless Firmware.
@@cheo1949 So you confirm that the chip resetter works usually ? i would like to use that instead to flash a new firmware, in this way i will have also the ink level for each cartridge, thanks for your reply
I will try to use some Epson ecotank inks and let you know if that will work with these cartridges and if the results will be the same like with the original cartridges, here someone has already tried the same ecotank inks on other Epson printers, but in this way i will have only 4 of 6 using ecotank inks, maybe 5 of 6 (i will have to test the grey ecotank too) but not red for now
It is possible but.....be aware that unless each cart is fully empty you will always have a MIX or photo ink and sublimation ink. And the problem with that is you can't print sub unless ALL 6 carts have been allowed to reach empty and filled with sub inks. Plus you will not be able to revert back to photo inks if you change your mind later. The only printers you can realistically use for sub printing are those who allow the use of refillable carts. So you can load a full set of carts with sub ink. Remove all OEM ones and install the sub ink carts. Two cleanings and you should be on full sub inks. That's not really something you can do on a xp1500 since you do not have the option to run refillables in the USA.
im having a little problem and i wonder if someone could help, when i try to print the printer only prints a vertial strip of the image, like just a quarter of the image, but only when i change the type of paper to photo paper glossy, the printer work fine on any other setting except that one. the printer is a epson L4150
Do you have to have the firmware to trick the cartriges into being full in order to refill them? I am unable to download the firmware because I am on a Mac. Could I just click "Dismiss" On the empty cartridge warning every time instead?
@@cheo1949 thank you Jose. I just got Expression 15,000. Still in the box! By the way, I don't want wireless (router gave up the ghost)..Any problem just hard wire it to computer to print? Great chanel ! Your opinions lead me to choose Epson printer exp 15,000. Best wishes, stay safe.
Hi, Recently I’ve came across XP 15000 CISS on Epson Cartridges ua-cam.com/video/PleFoZ4ErUs/v-deo.html and OEM vs Foam Carts ua-cam.com/video/e2sAIKTcgP0/v-deo.html I’ve decided switching to OEM because OEM’s have better seal. The only thing keeps me from doing that is - how to drill the hole on top of the cart for ink tube to be inserted. How to do it and not destroy the bag inside the OEM cart ? Sincerely Jan
Anyone know why mine is printing blanks? I've purchased the chipless firmware and precision inks but it's printing blanks and I get the 031002 error. I really need this to work and it's failing me on the last yard line. :(
That makes the P800 perfect. Can be made chipless plus roll adapter and of course a user replaceable waste ink tank. And to top it off it can be repacked and it's chip reset. It is the sane one the 3800 and 3880 uses.
So Ink Owl just told me what you are saying in completely false and you NEED to refillable cartridges and they do sell sets of them. **I am rethinking buying from them now** if I'm not clear hear, Inkowl is full of crap and I find what they said extremely misleading
What am I saying is false again? All refillables carts for the XP15000 do not come with chips. Unless they are offering chips with them. The gaskets on them eventually stop fully sealing and cause intermittent air leaks causing banding. So please tell me a bit more clearly what it is I said that is false.
@@cheo1949 I didn't said what you said was false, I was just relaying what Ink Owl said after your review convinced me to give them a try. That was why I mentioned I was rethinking ever using them again as It's hilarious that there's a video of you clearly showing this and they are telling me it can't be done. Typical Short Attention Span Idiot. You are the only one who has complained for FREE Information on how to do this. Bet you learned something but are just too stubborn to admit it! Dumb ass!
Mr. Rodiguez. Most of the time, you only talk. Sometimes, you demonstrate how to refill a cartridge. It's the same as you tell a boy how to swim but you never go into water and do the real thing (swimming). I don't think your show is much useful.
@@cheo1949 I have seen it, but you just put the cap on and you lelt the refilled cartridge on your table. What I want to see is you use it to print if it will actually WORK. I have lost patience on watching your demo. Why keep talking so much about the unnecessary things. I can do your job under 5 minutes to save the audience's precious time.
I have a XP8600 which has the same type of cartridge as this. I want to turn it into a sublimation printer but cant find refillable cartridges for it. Are these cartridges able to be emptied and refilled? If so do you have a video for that?
If they are like the XP1500 carts you con not fill them back to full capacity IF you empty them by any form. There is a little internal components that gets triggered if you go to like 20%. Although you will be able to fill them you will only fill them to about 75 - 80% original capacity. At least that is how the XP1500 carts behave.
Can someone confirm I understand everything correctly? Just want to make sure i'm getting it all... lol

2. Remove cart from printer, replace with other filled carts so the printer doesn't dry.

Is it OK to refill the pigment ink to the OEM ink cartridge or the third party refillable cartridge? Did it before with 1390 and it works well.
Damn, EU should make a law that give the right of refilling ink cartridge to customer. Just like what they did with Apple Lightning/USB-C port.
Joe. Have you tried to fill a cart with a collapsed bag yet. I have tried and it does not appear that sectioning the air out works.
You must have waited till it was close to empty. PC showed why you should always fill when the cart weighs no less than 18 grams. Something gets tripped internally which will prevent you from filling it completely to a final weight of 27 grams. I will contact him to get the procedure to unlock the ink bag.
Have there been any improvements or changes in this process? Are single use chip cartridges worth it?
Thanks for the video! This is a big help!!!!
Hello Jose, thanks for the video. I did this method for the XP 630 ... Same thing I think - it worked thank you. i ordered the firmware from your link and saved $3. thanks for that also
So I also check the link you gave for the the weights of the cartridges but the XP-630 did not have this one. do you know how i can get the full weight for these cartridges ?
What are the cartridge numbers?

Hi Jose, I wanted to ask you if it is possible to refill the original Epson Expression Photo XP-900 cartridges. Thank you
great videos Jose...have a question regarding refilling epson xp-15000. do you think the inks will clog the jets sooner than normal or do you think the chiplesssolutions inks are as clean as the epson inks?
Good day is that pigment base ink
Thanks Jose!
Does this work for a printer converted to DTF or is this specific to sublimation.
thank you for your reply

REPLY actually I am using a chipless cis system I ordered from alibiba.

Can you do this with the starter kit cartridges and how many times can it be done
If you do it correctly you can refill them indefinitely unless you damage them.
Hi Jose, I'm late in the game looking for a printer but I finding something different in the description model Expression Photo HD XP-15000 Wide-format Printer is the same as the XP-15000? the other has "HD" on it?
Not 100% sure but I have a feeling it is the same.
I really appreciate your help! some how doesn't work for me, it might be from inkchip the problem, cartridge has an X after recharge
Can I replace regular ink with dtf ink? The red and gray will be replaced with white ink.
hello, I bought my epson xp15k a while ago and the ink is about to run out and I wanted to ask you what type of ink I can use to refill my cartridges
and I wanted to ask, if I fill the original cartridges, do I have to modify the code for the "chipless" or it is not necessary
Jose, greetings from France. Which printers are easiest to circumvent? Canon or Epson.. Merci.
The last generations of CANON printers. Though some?EPSON that were LOCKED in North America were non in Europe. All the new EPSON CANON Printers can not currently use 3rd party products. ANYWHERE.
Can we apply this method if we would like to use the OEM cartridge for DTF ink?
I don't see why not. But these carts are very small and once you go chip less you have to fill up on a strict schedule since you no long have ink level support
Jose great video... Do you know where I can buy Red Sublimation ink for the XP 15000 I'm stumped ..thanks .... If anyone here know where I can get the red sublimation ink please let me know
I've not run into any.
inkpro2day
can this be used for sublimation ink how can i take the regular ink out to apply this
Yes but there's no easy way to drain the carts. Besides if could drain them you will trigger an internal valve that will prevent you from refilling them to full capacity. You could use refillable but they truly suck. You also need to install a Chip less firmware on it. It can be a bit difficult process.
Is it possible to post something here ?
Are you able to refill original cartridge after it’s empty with sublimation ink ?
There is no red sublimation ink. So even though you technically can it would not really work as RED is absolutely used by the print engine. .
Hello I’ve did exactly what you did but when I turn my printer back on it still says that it’s empty What should I do?
I will try to use some Epson ecotank inks and let you know if that will work with these cartridges and if the results will be the same like with the original cartridges, here someone has already tried the same ecotank inks on other Epson printers, but in this way i will have only 4 of 6 using ecotank inks, maybe 5 of 6 (i will have to test the grey ecotank too) but not red for now
@@claudiosoprano71 and? How went it for you? Whats your suggestion for us?
i have a xp 15000 epson but i run a Mac can this ink-chip firmware be done on it as well
Unfortunately no.
I wanted to convert mine to sublimation. Should I not do that?
WiFi or USB?
Thankyou.
Can this printer be converted to sublimation?
Yes, it can, but you must convert the printer to chipless
Chipless works with apple computers
La tinta la envían a Colombia?
No. Solamente aqui en USA.
Do you have to have the firmware to trick the cartriges into being full in order to refill them? I am unable to download the firmware because I am on a Mac. Could I just click "Dismiss" On the empty cartridge warning every time instead?
Only works on Windows.
It says refill Epson exp 15,000 cartridges but the printer is Canon
You you'd be Wrong. That is an XP15000 OEM cart.

Hi,
Recently I’ve came across XP 15000 CISS on Epson Cartridges ua-cam.com/video/PleFoZ4ErUs/v-deo.html and OEM vs Foam Carts ua-cam.com/video/e2sAIKTcgP0/v-deo.html I’ve decided switching to OEM because OEM’s have better seal.
Try to upload the correct version of the firmware
locking out printers for any use of third party, in Europe, is not legal...
Epson is worse than Canon with the firmware fighting and lawsuits...going chipless with one of their models with a paper roll is really going to help.
Mr. Rodiguez. Most of the time, you only talk. Sometimes, you demonstrate how to refill a cartridge. But I've not seen you (so far) how you reinserted your refilled cartridges into a printer and PRINT something. Except I did do a refill video on the xp15000.
