Well I don’t know if you have any of these, but there is the following: The Lion King Broadway sales Video (6 minutes comes in a black slip out case) The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit (Demo Tape) (Touchstone release) Sebastian’s Caribbean Jamboree (Demo Tape) Disney 1988 Summer Promotion Demo Tape (One Side has Walt Disney Mini Classic Mickey and the Beanstalk while the other has Ducktales) Goldrush: A Real Alaskan Adventure (Demo Tape) Dinosaurs (Demo Tape) There might be other, but the ones I have are Spirited Away, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and Castle in the Sky (2004 version Demo Tapes in Clamshells)
I am currently working on 4 collections The Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection releases Sealed (I have 5 currently, but 9 have been shipped plus I found one I didn’t even know existed a Wide-Screen VHS copy of Sleeping Beauty sealed!) I also have a recalled copy of the Rescuers) The Walt Disney Family Film Collecion (I only have one so far: 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, but if I win the bid it will be 3 total) Walt Disney Studio Film Collection (I own 3 so far Dumpling Gang, Professor, and Kidnapped) And the one I have the biggest collection of so far is Walt Disney Film Classics Collection (If the titles I want are still there on Saturday I will have a total of 20 of them). The only ones I would be missing are: The Legend of Lobo, Big Red, Greyfriars Bobby, The other release of Old Yeller, Kidnapped, A Light in the Forest, That Darn Cat The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again, Herbie Rides Again, Herbie Goes To Monte-Carlo, Herbie Goes Bananas,
DisneyVHSMuseum I work at a Goodwill and see them come through all the time. I would like to see a video showing the difference between let’s say 101 Dalmatians Black Diamond VHS Releases or the Alice in Wonderland Masterpiece Collection VHS. Do you think that would be possible to do in the future?
James Moyner the main difference is the previews change through the years. That’s why there are many Alice in the wonderlands. Also they had different variations such as sticker label changes and ink label. The masterpiece 1994 releases use sorcerer Mickey intro while 1995 and later used masterpiece logo.
DisneyVHSMuseum Ah, okay thank you for the explanation. The sealed ones I have in my possession so far are: Bambi, Cinderella, The AristoCats, The Rescuers (Recalled Version), Pocahontas, I have won the actions that contain the following sealed: Dumbo, Melody Time, Sleeping Beauty (original and Widescreen), Alice in Wonderland, The Sword in the Stone, Pete’s Dragon, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules.
DisneyVHSMuseum If you don’t have one yet here is the person I bought my copy of Rescuers from www.ebay.com/itm/Disney-039-s-Masterpiece-The-Rescuers-VHS-Recalled-For-Nudity-Insert-/193218847708?nma=true&si=L2OiKIRo4eGvHVSBTfGqP9A7%252BLQ%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
If you don’t mind me asking, why do you have so many copies of the same video release? I know there are different versions of them (from opening logos, previews, etc), but I’ve never heard there being like 6 or 7 variants!
Vivir the black diamond classics and masterpiece since it had releases over many years there are many label variations and opening variations. You can tell a lot of the times what version you have by the date on the tape and also on the back there is a release number such as Pete’s dragon masterpiece (10-6) which is the 6th official release. It can be confusing.
Now I dare you to hunt down all the tape releases by the sublabels of Disney (edit: ignore that, I saw it later in the video) In all seriousness, that has got to be the biggest collection I've ever seen. Normally I would consider this hoarding, but given that this will be a museum of some sort, I'll grant that as an accomplishment! Even if incomplete.
Naaaah, I'm just kidding, don't push yourself that far. But yeah, you ever collected those drawer boxes from the 20th Century-Fox Video and early CBS/FOX eras? Those are damn nice.
Could you tell me what that Pinocchio early in the video in your master piece collection is with the white boarder? It’s between your 1985 Pinocchio releases and 1986 releases. I think I have that one but always thought it was a bootleg.
If I may suggest something to do with these, I think that you should gather up all of the extra copies, and sell them for a dollar per tape. Because, to me, the only thing wrong with this large collection is how unnecessary a lot of it is. Plus, if you do sell the unwanted tapes, you could be closer to obtaining Disney tapes that you don't yet have.
IdeaBox9000 is your talking about the tons of variants (black diamond/masterpiece) on the normal shelves, then those are there cause he is collecting variants. But, if your talking about that big stash at the beginning, good idea!
@@silvin8033 Thanks! Strangely enough, I was referring to both the variants and that large stash. And it was very nice of you to speak of both of them so eloquently.
@@IdeaBox-dk5vj Since I'm documenting variants I have no plan on getting rid of them. Dupilcates yes, I will get rid of at some point due to space constaints. As for getting the final remaining 92 tapes i need...it will take years just to find them. Selling the duplicates will not get me closer to a complete collection unfortunately. They just are never for sell :(
Colin the Cartoonist required a lot of research at first since there isn’t much information on a lot of releases. It took me 2 yeArs just to figure out everything Disney releases on vhs. Some tapes are insanely rare that I’ve never even seen a photo of the release.

I was a child because I heard Disney cartoons.
Curious- how many would you say you had if you were just counting one of each title/release?
3307 unique disney/buena vista tapes so far
