Kuma's Kitchen thanks for joining me on this adventure, Kevin! People don’t know that we filmed that a year ago BEFORE we went to Nara to film the Street Food episode there, the one where the deer attacked me and we ate deer poo! 🤣
I like your viewpoint. Yes, far too much precious food is wasted in the world. Canning and/or flash freezing could preserve a lot of food that would otherwise be wasted.
Your videos always look so professional,it feels like professional crew is with you.Gives the natural feeling of being there as well :) quality content as always Sir John. :)
Your channel encouraged me to return to college. It's been a dream of mine to live in Japan and well, every resource I've found said that a college degree is the bare minimum to stand a chance. I gotta thank you for your content, good stuff!
I know your busy and also working on Only in Japan Live but honestly was excited to see a new upload on this channel and like always a great job. Maybe it’s just me but seems like there is not as many new uploads as in the past :(. Anyways thanks for another great video.
Finally watched it! One of my favorite Only in Japan videos. Really cool John, thanks a lot for this video and it is always lovely to see Kevin, i became a big Kuma's kitchen fan as well!
There's a place just like this in Gardena in Los Angeles (but you pick what you want from a menu, and they prepare it from the cans, which line the walls of the restaurant/bar for display). A bit pricy and such a gimmick, lol, but kind of fun, and they always have mini shows going on with small bands or musicians playing. A fun thing to try for those who live in L.A. :)
reminds me of the spanish "culture" of eating canned food called conservas. their canned food are super high quality and some incredibly expensive depending on the ingredients.
pukachupenn, holy mother of god, Japan has everything in a can! They sell those in vending machine I won't ever question japan's vending machine superiority anymore
One thing I noticed about uni in Japan is it was about half the size or smaller than what I would find in California. Is that because they harvest it earlier or because it is a different species? They both had the same color, I've seen it in other countries where it is much more red, and the flavor was just as good, it was just smaller in Japan and also about twice as expensive. Maybe a supply and demand thing as well as a different sized species?
Normally one doesnt eat so many cans in one sitting since each can is loaded with sodium. You need to eat them with white rice otherwise each can is far to rich in flavor on its own.
That was a fun one to shoot. Never imagined before that I'd be eating canned food in a restaurant. Looking forward to our next adventure.

Great that you shot this... Hope countries where food is wasted due to lack of logistics/cold chain get inspired from this

Kuma's Kitchen iii
Did you guys notice that the restaurant owner was waiting in anticipation in the corner of the video?
The variety of food in Japan is incredible!!! Canned food restaurants...I'm intrigued.
Did you ever have/had an idea for business and been told that's crazy,it will never catch on? Maybe you should try it in Japan.
Geo Geo id say getting a point across without the grammar damaging the interpretation is good enough for comments
Yay more Kevin! it's been too long since he's been on the show.
LOL. Thanks. Hopefully John will be down to Osaka for more eating soon.

1:39 Bread in Can? This thing reminds me of squidward 😂
I think this idea is awesome
So basically a grocery store that only sells canned food and pretends to be a restaurant. Whoever created this place is a genius.
Wow that’s so cool that such a place exists! It definitely bets spam that’s for sure! XD
That Buri looks great!
Super interesting this new discoveries !
Some of those cans really looked like you should have some hot buttered toast, or crusty french bread, to go with them.
I went to Osaka like 5 years ago, and I never knew there was a restaurant like this XD
this should be available in groceries worldwide!!!
We need that kind of restaurant here in the states!
I love your videos!
6:35 the guy behind the register is having a lot of fun.
I am in osaka
Awesome! Try it out :)
I went to Mr. Kanso and its a riot with friends. Its cheap and fun.
Omg that is so funny 😂 I kinda want to try this place! Canned takoyaki... well... I gotta try this 🤔😂😜
Amberjack is one of those fish that has a 75% chance of parasites so I never eat it
really?
yup just go search up videos for it on UA-cam.
Chicken has a one hundred percent chance of tasting like chicken.
I still eat chicken :)
Not enough as a meal, but not bad for a drinking snack
My favorite canned Japanese food is canned smoked Eel..I can't find it but one place here in South Carolina two hours away.
Dennis Riley is the only person I've ever seen that can chew with his mouth open and not look like a disgusting slop.
I am the only one waiting for 1 million subscribers for this channel
02:34 Does anyone noticed that Kevin Riley looks like our Indian actor Chunky Pandey..
Love your video ^^
Love the canned food restaurant concept! Don't have to worry about hiring a wait or cooking staff. I wonder how this would fare in the U.S.?

Cool! You should try fried maple leaves.
Eating with sticks... it still blows my mind every time
Lol same but once you get the hang of it YOU CAN DO ANYTHING
I saw on Travel Man there is a tin shop resto for fish, somewhere in Europe.
Looks pretty good to try it!
I really enjoyed this...wish I had a passport :P (god, after 46 years I need to get off my ass and travel!)
RBP!!!
I love the Japanese food. Greetings from Mumbai India.😊.
John keeps saying that the canned food is good, while keeps pushing the food with his beer. That's interestinv
I love the 55gal drum tables lol

The beer machine in the back makes you look like you're having bunny ears 😂😂😂😂😂

Can you do a video with nekojita blogs. I know that they speak Spanish so that will be an interesting video of a person from USA, Spain and Japan.
Normally one doesnt eat so many cans in one sitting since each can is loaded with sodium. You need to eat them with white rice otherwise each can is far to rich in flavor on its own.
Prayers to the family of the victims of Kyoto animation fire incident I love Japan
Preppier paradise in the end of the world
Mr. Kanso isn't a restaurant so much as it's an izakaya with bar snacks in cans.
00:22 your wish has been granted.
Where can I find the prices of the items? The uni looks interesting! :D
Gordon Ramsay must have nightmares about this place...
KEVIN in JAPAN
