I was waiting for the study on John, but I have to say this study on Ruth really spoke to me. I've been feeling very bitter in this time of singlehood, no family, few true friends in a giant city. I have been feeling bitter and empty like Naomi/Mara, and wondering if or when things would ever change. This study cracked my heart open. I had a good cry and talked to God honestly for the first time in a long time. I realized that God has set me free of all the abusive relationships from my past that I would willingly have stayed in, but like the Israelites after leaving Egypt, I have no idea what freedom means, and sometimes I find myself longing for the horrors of the past simply because there was certainty there. In the past at least I came close to feeling like I belonged somewhere. Now, I am in the hands of the Lord, and I have to find a way to trust. This is SO hard for me to do. But I am determined to do it. Clinging to God has to be my new way of life. Your studies have been so important and helpful. Thank you.

I am so blown away by this. God is so faithful. If you were the only one this study was for, to God be the glory. Thank you for being so transparent and sharing from your heart. Yes, you are in the hands of the Lord, and He will help you trust. HE will do it In your weakness, He will make you strong. Just cling to Him. Praying for you right now. May God bless you richly as you cling.

The day after Thanksgiving I finished the book of Judges in my personal study. Ruth was next, but I had just studied it not long ago, so I was planning to move over to First Kings. I literally turned past Ruth, then a couple seconds later, turned back, my insides churning. My gaze tilted slightly upward as I spoke in my heart. “Really, Lord? I thought John was the next Cling study.”
What’s that proverb? “The mind of man plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps” (Proverbs 16:9). I prayed as my insides kept churning and here we are. :) It’ll be a while before John gets edited, but meanwhile, let’s feast on Ruth together!

So true...bitterness can blind us from seeing what God wants to do in our lives...God sees and predestin our steps especially when he is using us for his purpose. One needs to put complete trust in what he is doing. Naomi does not see the blessing set before her. In verse 16 and 17 it is fascinating how she is imploring Naomi to stay and to serve our God...Ruth surrendered herself completely to God. Oh, how God must have felt hearing her! Remember she lost her husband but was not bitter. She continued on trusting in our God, now hers...beautiful!!!!

Hi Kim, it was so good to spend time today listening to you expounding on the word... it was as fresh water on a dry and lonely soul. I love the book of Ruth for me it remind me that although Ruth was a Moabite and had no right to be an Israelite, Yahweh had made that clear as you read " no right to the 10th generation" she turned away from her past life and as it was made covanent with Yahweh " Do not urge me to leave you,or go back from following after you. For wherever you go, I go and wherever you stop over, I stop over. Your people are my people and your Elohim is my Elohim. An example of how as gentile we are "grafted in" among the chosen people. This ex- mo' abite later on became the great- grandmother of David...Oh what an awesome Elohim we serve. Amen and Looking forward to chapter 2 ... Yahweh bless you. Love in Messiah Yeshua🤗

I have received much from listening to this message Kim! I greatly needed this reminder to not look at what circumstances I've been through this year but to find my way back to what God wants for my life. I am at a crossroad and without being able to seek Him as I should and this message surely has spoken to me about not dwelling on the past and not knowing what the future holds without a job and my husband being taken away from me by my step sons I can relate to this wonderful message and find my purpose in serving God again despite what's going on right in front of me! Please send prayer for strength to overcome this place of feeling helpless and bring back the joy to my heart and soul 🙏

Just knowing that there is someone who cares enough to reach out to a person who has gone through different battles of warfare to fight the joy in the journey and finding hope and joy by His spirit! Many blessings to you for your ministry to others for which I am grateful for your caring spirit and wisdom to know what to pray about during these days of hardships of many people who feel alone on this journey of faith.🙏🙏🤗

What a powerful word. And what precious display of love... Naomi's love for her daughter-in-laws their love for her and God's love for Naomi. I recall the times of my life when the pain was too great to know what to ask for or to want to be strong or to even say help even though I didn't do all I need to do God still looked out for me still made ways out of no way still kept me even though I wasn't sure I wanted to be kept and showed me truly what Amazing Grace was and is. love this message so much... thank you for the reminder of the benefits of clinging

Trying to peace it all together, and get me back, before the loss. I have no real family, the REAL one's are in Heaven, and their a lot of them. I always thought it was interesting that Ruth chose to go to a land where she knew how they felt about Moabites. It makes me wonder just how bad things were in Moab, not just a famine but tue people and their practices. She was willing to trust God and go to a land where she had to have known she might not be accepted.

"When we cling to God or not it affects other people, our witness..." That's so true. There's a difference in what we think, say and do.

Thank you so much for such great studies, Mrs. Kimcashtate!. Your knowledge and love for the Word is evident and it shows in the connections you make as you read. I am not a young believer, but I have strayed in my reading and studying of the Word; I am trying to start over again. However, I feel overwhelmed with finding motivation, time, and really knowing where to start. I've watched your other videos and find myself wanting to listen to you and the great insights you provide. Will I be able to make these similar connections and see the big picture I keep asking myself? The cross reference resources don't usually provide the same verses that you share. Also, I tend to feel shame and insecurity about digging into the Word thinking my knowledge and understanding is at the superficial level and I just don't crave the Word like real food. My actions are not backing my desire to know God and His word and besides, I have memory issues that seem to last in the short term...any thoughts?

I would pray and ask God where to start. And I wouldn't try to tackle too much.... just read a little at a time, faithfully. Better to develop the habit of being in the word regularly, than to get discouraged because you've taken on too much. As you stay in the word, the connections will come, and the Holy Spirit will build your understanding. I didn't pick up a bible to read it until I was 27. God is faithful to help us.

Gen 35:19 and 48:7 .... Ephrath (that is Bethlehem)
Ruth 1:2 ... Ephrathites from Bethlehem in Judah ...
1 Sam 17:12 ... Ephrathite of Bethlehem in Judah ...
1 Chron 4:4 ... the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem ...
      Micah 5:2 ... Bethlehem Ephrathah ...
      Mat 2:1, Mat 2:5 ... Bethlehem of Judea ...
Mat 2:6 ... Bethlehem in the land of Judah ...
One and the same in the Bible. Not 2.

Hi Kim ,I have a doubt ,I don't want to reveal the person name but if a spouse has committed adultery but later repented ,does she/he need to confess to their partner?Need to support my friend mentally.

Amen, she's gonna follow God, no matter what. Ruth. Naomi, she changed her name even. She was mad, at God, I guess, cause things, didn't go her way. God way's aren't ours. Naomi, is going to be in trouble, for her actions. God don't think it's funny. He don't play, he will make you realize, who he really is. No God before him.
