    Great presentation. The Dairy J was not the Surf side but a different building at the end of the beach. The foundation is still there when we get the right type of storm it gets uncovered. Also, Green Island had a circular house built on it by a Mr. Bishop. It was only one floor and lasted for years until the Wortmans built the house that is currently there. You may want to contact the Burkharts who live in the building that was Lounsbury's They at one point had a collection of cards that were left in the building.

      My dad was a school teacher in East Haven he and my mom were owners of the dairy j before I was born the j stands Jeannette I have pictures of her and my dad there at the dairy j I remember riding along as a kid that I enjoyed

    Thank you so much for posting this. Was The Ark, which I think you said is at the dead end of Linden Avenue, is that now the end of Linden Point? My family had a cottage on Linden Point, one Cottage in from the very tip of the point, and I'm trying to get my bearings as to where that would be.
