maybe its because im older than you adam but if you ever get the chance to go back and watch vader in his prime in wcw and in japan you need to do it. he was amazing and its so sad a man with his talents could be a main event player everywhere except in the wwe where they needed someone like him the most. big, intimidating, fast, and could actually wrestle. wwe really messed up not utilizing him.
According to WWE, as of now Summerslam is no longer the 2nd biggest PPV of the year. It is now 3rd. WrestleMania is 2nd and Super Showdown is 1st. WWE said so themselves on multiple occasions.
I just watched Summer Slam '05 yesterday, that ladder match was actually decent considering how much Rey and Eddie had to do on the fly, and Hogan Vs Michaels is one of those matches that is so over the top with cheesy '80s antics and Michaels overselling everything that it's actually really funny when you go back and watch it. And when Hogan "Hulks Up" after kicking out of the superkick, how can you not get the feels, because you know, nostalgia.....
@AlwaysLookCool 729 Correct. You wanna listen to Bruce? Great. Am sure it's an entertaining listen, but you nshouldn't take it seriously. He plays a character, Conrad has confirmed this
Actually the Mean Gene this isn't what WWE want us to forget. Gene used to host a show called Vintage and on the Aniversary of this incident, they tried to re create and made him cuss on TV and I remember seeing it.
Hi guys. So can you re edit this and sort out that reeeaaaaalllly annoying music looping that is way too loud in the mix? I'll come back and watch then
Vader was booked to win the WWF Title alright, but not at SummerSlam. The plan was for them to do a trilogy with Shawn winning at SummerSlam, Vader getting back on him at Survivor Series and then they do the blow off at Survivor Series in Shawn's hometown of San Antonio inside the Alamodome. But Vader was apparently too stiff, so Shawn pulled strings to get Sid to replace Vader, whom he later called a big piece of luggage.
That shot that was intended to be the end of the Summerslam 91 main event was from Wrestlemania VIII. Warrior chased General Adnan and Colonel Mustafa to the back.
Imagine being shawn Michaels trying to wrestle for wwe today with his same ego while being told last minute that he has to drop the title to Jinder Mahal 🤣😂
@@dokuganryu1565 no you wouldn't. Breach of contract is a very powerful thing. There's a reason people request a leave when theyre disgruntled instead of outright quitting on the spot. They'd wrestle the indies for free for a long time trying to pay that off.

Shawn wasn’t mean to Vader because he had to drop the title that was never the plan there. The plan was to have Shawn win summerslam then lose to Vader at survivor series and then win it bacc at rumble. Instead Shawn didn’t like that Vader was so stiff with him. On top of not being able to keep up with him and had Vader switched out for Sid.
Nitpick on #7, The HBK Hogan feud was originally set to be part of a best of 3, with each person getting a win, but Hulk's heath was such shit that they scaled it back to only SummerSlam with Hogan going over, so Shawn decided to protest by over selling. This had less to do with Shawn's ego, and more to do with Hogan being the Diva he is and not putting over somebody younger and more relevant.
I think WWE should regret turning Eddie heel after we all loved his new gimmick of lie, cheat and steal..I remember not wanting to boo him thru this time but he was such an amazing wrestler he pulled it off...man I miss Eddie so much 😢

Just because WWE doesn't want to talk about Chris Benoit doesn't mean WhatCulture and others shouldn't. Instead of acting like a whiny coward, actually say it. It was a tragic event that became one of the major pillars as to why today's wrestling has many of it's medical safeguards. Chris Benoit's brain looked like swiss cheese when he killed himself. Tragically, between repeated, untreated concussions, possible steroid and alcohol abuse and having the brain that literally looked like an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient, the guy likely not in his right mind when things went down. If you've ever had a family member with Alzheimer's or worked with them like I have, they see all sorts of things when reality slips away and they quite literally freak out. I'm not defending Benoit's actions; however people need to stop treating Benoit's case as taboo or otherwise "Not conversation material." Talking about the murder and suicide, the ramifications that came from it, and why we shouldn't tolerate things like exposed chair shots to the head, growth hormones and steroids in wrestling and the health and well being of wrestlers is as equally important as ensuring something like this never happens again. *Grow a pair WhatCulture.*
