Models of HMS Ajax, HMS Exeter and HMS Achilles chasing it around the pool would've made for an excellent historical diorama!!
So this is KMS Graf spee?

As a custom builder, my deepest respects to owner/builder of this incredible ship, she's truly a work of art. Thanks for sharing her with us, a great video as always.
If thats the size of Graf Spee RC Model, Imagine Bismarcks RC Model
Confused Admiral Or Yamato
Sebastian Hurtado Cordova tirpitz would be the same size as the Bismarck tho
Pocket battleships are half the size of a battleship
@@cloud6254 Half as in displacement or length?

For the people who haven’t read the description, this is KMS Graf Spee, she was a Deutschland class heavy cruiser and typically referred to as a “pocket battleship” and is most famously known for the Battle of the River Plate in which she faced off against HMS Ajax, HMS Achilles, and HMS Exeter in which she suffered damage to something related to the fuel. But after fake reports of HMS Ark Royal and HMS Renown I think in the region made the captain and German High Command scuttle the ship. Some of her rangefinders rests in Uruguay I believe. I typically can tell the Graf Spee mainly because of her 6 main guns, and her rear quad torp tubes.
Captain was not a jerk...he actually saved alot of lives in a battle he couldnt win, and if ship stayed in port, it would of been seized by allies..
RC ROTOR Captain Langsdorf was a true gentleman..much respected by his prisoners.
I do not know how they did it , as it blow up . But the British secret service got the radar off it .
He should have been given an award by the British for the many lives he saved on both sides! Rest in peace Captain!!
Hi
The captain was stupid, it’s a warship, he would have battered the competition again and sailed off, the Spee wasn’t damaged..
Atemberaubendes Modell eines erstaunlichen Beispiels der Meerestechnik. Kapitän zur See Hans Langsdorff (20. Stunning model of an amazing example of Marine Engineering. Commanded by a Naval hero and truly honourable man, Kapitän zur See Hans Langsdorff (20 March 1894 - 20 December 1939). Crewed by heros.
The front turret is suffering from ED.
Elevation Dysfunction.
Only shoots blanks!
lol
Tourettes Syndrome.
be nice if the main guns would have elevated and turned. Anyone that can build a ship of that detail should be able to come up with that function.
The detail is just as incredible! Not at all surprising that it was built by Germans! 😄👍
Good model. A very well designed ship in real life. All three gave good service.
That is the admiral Graf spee pride of German cruisers
I got distracted by the Titanic sailing in the background lol, very cool ship!
Like all these electric boats, the fun is in the building. Going round & round in an indoor pool would have to be akin to watching paint dry.
Am I the only one kinda disappointed that at that scale, they didn't motorize the turrets and go the extra step to make it more realistic?
Or you know, make the front guns level and not pointed at the deck.
Everytime the Graf Spee enters a match in War Thunder: "Why do I hear boss music?"
Try World of Warships you don't hear it there.
@@StarBornMichael yup but hear it when the Yamamoto battleship enters.
Good to know Arnie loves his ships too 👍😊
German engineering at it's finest
That is a thing of beauty. The workmanship is amazing 😀
Fair play to the Germany they did build sexy ships . Well engineered well over engineered but still a beautiful sight .
The Admiral Graf Spee was not a "battle cruiser".
The detail in this model is amazing.
It's a heavy cruiser and it could be deutschland to
It was a "pocket battleship"
@@Schlipperschlopper still a cruiser not battleship
@@benconway9010 it was like the Mikasa in that it was meant to be a cruiser that leaned more towards its battleship capabilities instead of destroyer
@@benconway9010 "pocket battleship" was just a nickname that stuck..as thats essemtially what this ship was
Beautiful workmanship!
I see the skipper is adept at using both the rudder and the props to execute turns. Well done!
Hola !!!
Makes me drool too see that beautiful model sailing on the water
Excellent attention to detail!!!!! Workmanship most excellent!!!!!
Absolutely gorgeous model. One quibble: The Arado floatplane's really needs its canopy framework painted.
We need this to happen at an Olympic size pool and underwater cameras showing submarines.
Someone shows up with same scale yamato: "yeah.. this pool isnt big enough "
hitlersmissingnut Yamato is a favorite of mine too. Amazing ship of her time. Excellent commentary friend.
GarthanSaal444
That Yamato model is 1/10 scale. One thousand of those would equal the size of the real deal.
@@jamesgroccia644 I think you mean 10? the real ship is 10x the length of the 1/10 scale model.
@@LMP-R I mean the real ship is 10 times taller, 10 times longer, and 10 times wider. Since weight increases in cubes, 10*10*10= 1000 times the size.
Incredible build .True craftsmanship.
loved seeing the crazy innards of the beast
Those wooden decks look awesome! I remember serving on HMAS Supply, an oil tanker in 1978 and every week the morning watch would lime and scrub the decks... I loved the morning watch, 0400-0800
Great ship and video, excellent work. thank you so much for sharing.
Level of detail is outstanding on the ship itself but the canopy on Arado AR 196 really stands out.
DAS IS GOOOOOOD
Wish we had model boating clubs like this in the U.S.
Great and beautiful.👍👍👍
This is something I would call the project of a lifetime.
Really cool Deutschland class pocket battleship!!
If that's 128kg those two old boys make it look easy work lifting it in.....
ilovenitnat yeah impossible that boat weights 128k... More like near 50k
It is first lifted into the water. Then lead weights and batteries come in. Then the ship's buildings are put on. That's why you do not have to lift 128 kg of 2 people.
12kg
Then the description should clarify that fact.
It definitely doesn't weight 128kg, regarding Archimedes principle. A 128 Kg floating means the boats submerged volume represents 128kg of water, that is to say 128L. On the video we clearly see the sumbergend volume below the waterline of the boat is far less than 128L. It seems way closer to 12.8L, that is to say 12.8Kg. Basic Physics. Beautiful model tho.
VERY COOL !!
The details awesome👍🏻
Brilliant, incredible.
A lot of work.
Nice ships, what detail! That was cool to see a model of a Nam PBR scooting along there.
Beautiful model! Could you describe briefly the power plant? Which electric motors you use, how many, what batteries... I'm designing from scratch something very similar and would be great checking those details with someone already experienced.
Thanks in advance!
Ohhh, Admiral Graf Spee. Master piece! (beter plumbum batery then lipo,no fire on board)
Wow! Very cool!
What a beautifull model of DKM CORONEL, looks soy marvelous, named in honour of the battle of Coronel, Chile.
I think that the German naval architects designed some of the best looking warships ever in my opinion.
In the real world, the trouble was, as I understand it, the German Navy had not achieved its desired size at the outbreak of WWII - plus they didn't enjoy the same access to the Atlantic as the Royal Navy - so they were always constrained in that regard. They were a feared and respected opponent and were tough ships to sink. The accuracy of their fire control systems always gave them the edge in any opening exchanges.
This is a beautiful model that really looks right.. Well done to its builder.
Pip: I suppose I like the Japanese better....lower freeboard....extended bows....about 10-stories high (easier to find after they sink...)
The look on Kriegsmarine ships were very... classic, in a way. Elegant lines. Sadly for their designs, the excellence levels achieved during the days of the Kaiser were long gone and the quality of the new designs left a lot to be desired.
Pip Piperade for me germany is the number in world war 2 in making awesome weapon from ship, tank, to planes and not least the first assault rifle but too late to develope that put them to lose the war and the destruction of Hitlers falls. Its just my opinion
I won't comment about the Heer or the Luftwaffe, which both had excellent machines. The Kriegsmarine, however, had some decidedly mediocre (Bismarck) or downright bad (Scharnhorst) surface designs. However, if you want quality ships coming from Germany, look at those designed and produced previous to WW I, back when Germany could afford the luxury of going face to face with the Royal Navy.
German ships had a tendency to be "wet" in even calm waters .
Others have noted that the Graf Spee was not a battle cruiser, so I'm wondering if this is the same class as the Prinz Eugen?
Einfach nur toll!
HE WAS MADE TO RULE THE WAVES ACROSS THE SEVEN SEAS!
Great looking ship. What fun......
that s so amazing ! my dream scale model in rc ! sadly the biggest i can is going to be 1/200 scale atleast !
Amazing Job, fascinating.
WHAT A DETAILED MODEL.... ;-)))
DAMN A MODEL ADMIRAL GRAF SPEE
INCREÍBLE
Hermosa maqueta!! Un gran vídeo.
What a Monster!
Works of Art.
I have been toying (No pun intended) around with the thought for years of building a large scale battleship out of tin and after seeing how easy a steam engine would be to acquire run off propane, I am inspired by this Beautiful Ship.
Well ...the Germans did at that time many things first too they were good engineers however Germany was in quaditty behind all the others behind in numbers from the beginning so when the war broke out there was no way that they could catch up against the English or Americans so they were forced to count on quality fue ships but very well made in speed /protection/armament the boilers of this ship were special made & very advance for that period of time had to used special diesel of fuel which this fuel had to be process first at other boiler to specific grade before feed then to the main boilers then when that primary boiler was destroy by the British guns then the ship become useless & therefore couldn't escape the destruction in my opinion the kapitain sink the ship so the technology of the ship guns/engines e t c not to failed at British hands & of course by doing this he save the life of his men but he payed dearly with his own.
Hi, I'm actually designing a heavy cruiser model in 1/48 out of aluminum, based in a Spanish ship from 1930's. Pretty challenging but a real passion.
That is one of the most beautifull model pf any ww2 ships 💓💓💓💓
Beautiful ship got a lot right this graf spee is the best I have seen
Is it deutschland or graf spee
Yamato Master grad spee I use it in world of warships I can confirm this is the graf spee the aft torpedo tubes 2 283 mm guns etc
One of my favorite ship in wows XD
A great model!
I saw a battleship of that size range many years ago in Kingston Ontario being driven around by a man inside. I had the impression he used a canoe for the hull which likely saved a lot of the construction time, and in the end may not have been too far away from the ship's original lines anyway.. He made no effort to conceal himself inside which actually added to the fun of watching him tool around the local waterfront.
Beautiful ship.
Majestic.
Simply Majestic.
Beautiful
Beautiful Model. You are are a super craftsman ( men)

Can't wait for Zeppy 😂😂😂
Nice, the Graf Spee, play it alot in Wows
My favorite Heavy Cruser of the KMS
128kg, - that's a floating slipped disk right there!
Gorgeous one though.
No wight ifvrwal biat
That bloody hull should be wider to keep the thing flopping side to side so easy. Its top heavy get more weight in the base it will float better
Amazing details. However it will be better if there are some oil washing and weathering work done on it as well.
0:58 *"Allooo?"*
😂😂😂😂😂 imagine him saying while doing this face: 😱
imagining my self back at ww1 and ww2 seeing giant ship like these, astonish at the fact that human can build amazing things like these and disgusted at the same time that it was used to kill humans
Would have been better if the upper structure electronics were in full display, plenty of harness there when they put the superstructure on. Aside from that, Love how it turns!
I really want to know how much it costed plus all the wiring etc
just looking at that plane on the launcher... what kind of logistical nightmare it must have been to get that thing back up there, especially in rougher water.
trés belles maquettes, bravo
That's nice work
