Valentin Bogolubov playing piano transcription of V.Bellini's "Casta Diva" from opera "Norma" composed by S.Thalberg. Recorded 14th June 2014 in Ryerson United Church.
Да,это исполнял Мастер.Черно-белые клавиши издавали не только звуки великой музыки,но и звук голоса великой Монсеррат Кабалье!Жаль только ,что моё время потихоньку уходит.Но какое наслаждение...Спасибо Вам!
As a rule, I don't really like transcriptions of vocal pieces for instruments but this one here is impressive. Superb performance by the pianist as well.
"As a rule", you know nothing about the instrument. Many great pianists have described the ultimate goal on the piano is to make this percussive instrument "sing" (Horowitz was one of them), so obviously playing transcriptions of vocal pieces would be an effective way to go about this. Blocked.
I agree as a general rule also. But I also heard it played with other instruments recently, and it was sublime, biut missed who it was by, very frustrating.❤
@Tyler Notariano i think he means that it has been transcribed and played very well. We can feel that it was meant to be sung even though it's played on the piano
Have been listening to your version, since yesterday, after enjoying the late, Montserrat Caballe. You bring such beautiful and pure (piano) melody. Magnificent🌺💖👏
Eu vim escutar essa música, por conta do livro Senhora de josé de alencar, onde ele menciona aurelia tocando essa música, e eu amo música clássica, fui bastante agregada com essa descoberta 😍
I gotta say...I love this performance, in particular, as well as Thalberg's arrangement; normally I wouldn't try to rank it, but this time, I have to say it's better than that of Chopin. An odd thing for me to admit, considering I know Chopin better.
I love this version above all others. The way Bogolubov slows it down in all the rights spots, where other versions speed up...just sublime. I do love the music box version heard here, though: ua-cam.com/video/8NQUOYO1tow/v-deo.html

Pure joy with no distractions.
Che compostezza nell'eccellenza dell'esecuzione . Lo risentirei mille volte , commuovendomi ogni volta . Che invidia ....
My God, this is sublime!🌹🌹
Die kunst ist dasgöttliche und das lässt uns alles alles anders vergessen.
C'est vrai! Danke!

BRAVO!!! Now I know what is meant by making a piano sing! Powerful performance that radiated sensitivity & emotional honesty. Thank you.

Greatly divine God given gift bravo opera singer paulette
Those fingers are hypnotizing
I feel this can actually be sung to. Bogolubov clearly knows the vocal works. He breathes well. This is so perfectly done.

Hi I love the sound of the piano which you play beautifully- what piano are you playing?
It's just simple Jamaha.
Es la voz de la Callas o de Caballe
百聼不厭

Thank you, beautiful Anita!
I prefer this recording... A lot mire depth and sensitivity here.
The Nocturne the young Chopin always wished he could have written ...
Iian Neill he wrote far greater.
This is one of the most beautiful opera arias ever composed. Listen to any sung version and it is ten times better
yeah god and all he produced was that shit nobody plays

Need to relax
So much tension in your articulation
Let it breath
