Back then, the "good guys" demonized us since the war ended, but today you can watch more and more stories of German soldiers, that not only racked up many kills, but also showed respect to their enemies, because that is, what we were really like. Stroheim is one of the realest takes on Nazi German soldiers there is.
Stroheim's hyperactive, and quite frankly unhinged, nature makes a lot more sense when you learn that the S.S were issued methamphetamine.
