My old account had been hovering at 5k for 2 years with terrible reach, so I made a new account, and a Reel of mine went viral (almost 50M views) and I gained almost 200k followers in a couple weeks (about 20k followers per day for several days). So I'd say it's pretty solid advice lol
Sometimes you need to take a step back to start going forward again. Honestly youre just better of deleting it and keeping it that way. The app is pure cancer

I can definitely see this working if it’s a page promoting a product or if it’s a meme page but if you’re an artist who built a fanbase over time, and they’ve been following your journey for years, deleting and starting from scratch isn’t a realistic solution in my opinion.
It is only chance. Art is also a product. To sell you need to get seen by as many people as possible

I'm trying this now and was thinking to deactivate old account (instead of deleting it) just in case I need to go back. But, I was wondering, if I post some of the same images/captions again on my new account will the IG algo "detect" that content is used on another, albeit deactivated, account and punish me for it being "unoriginal"? And more generally, is there ever any downside to deactivating rather than truly deleting the old account? I hear people (like this video) saying to delete old account and makes me wonder why not just deactivate instead...am I missing something?

I'm sure they told those 250k followers that they were going to make another profile that's all. Those numbers would look amazing but those are just people flocking over to the new account. Anyone with that type of following would be able to do that.

This seems sketchy I built my community for a community slow growth with a great community is better then just numbers for growth with no community … this may work for people chasing numbers maybe 🤔 great content as always but specific to those that need it
That’s right but if an account has got some algorithm issues with a great community of just 200 follower’s, only 20-40 followers have it on the screen.
It’s about algorithmic issues. If someone didn’t have one, everything is alright. If someone tried everything to fix the rating on Instagram, there is a algorithm issue for sure. 😅 Because the algorithm is irritated.
@@tamara_h. there is no “algorithm” issues unless they bought followers / unfollow follow strategy sketchy things … the algorithm is in your control I’ve proved this for myself as well as my clients … blaming the algorithm and shadowban is easy doing the work is hard and no one wants to do the work

Don’t blame others by saying they don’t want to do the hard work. I worked myself into a Burnout. I’m a self employed single mum designing accessories and tried everything to survive.

We did this for a DJ in May, she was stuck at 300 followers and no engagement. By August just using reels and better content from my tips - she’s up to over 1500 in under 3 months.

Hey Dominik quick question... My instagram profile in the last 90 days had a reach of more than 43k accounts and I only have 155 followers, however my followers growth had been a little slow. My account it is in fact pre 2020 but I have high reach... Should I do this tip of deleting my account and starting from scratch?
Id say stick with what your doing just give people a call of action or a real reason to follow you and stay updated on what you’re posting

I've been doing reels every day for 2 months, the engagement is very high because it's often 20% likes from views. The problem is that each reels stops at 15k views, even if at 15k it has 3k likes and 200 saves

Instagram is def. pushing REELS right now! I’m going to start posting to REELS over next few weeks and see how that impacts growth. Looks like it’s all about REELS right now. The fact that this happened for that one guy doesn't mean we should all do this or I'm gonna throw away my IG because some random guy made a short video that told me to. I was growing slowly on IG until I removed 200 ghost followers. Now I'm plateau. If Instagram can't treat me better I will do like I have all but done with Facebook: just abandon it.. They need us more than we need them.

Yeah, it's a great hack if it works, but there is no guarantee it will, it's a lottery as well. What if you don't get that magical reach? On Insta, you can do all the right things and still get zero reach...
