I love the L’Oréal tinted serum I swear it makes my face look so flawless even with oily skin! I just hate the applicator 😐 but the Maybelline looks so good on you too! Def need to try it myself.
EXCELLENT COMPARISONS!!! I love how you said they are both great for DIFFERENT PURPOSES bc that’s what I got from it too. I am on the hunt for a daily drugstore foundation that looks like your skin but better, little to no fragrance and evens out redness and is hydrating so that’s what brought me to your video. I am going to get something different for a more full-coverage look. Based on your review, I think I’m going to go with the L’Oréal right now bc my skin is really dry but extra dry from the winter and then try the Maybelline in the summer when I need more longevity in the humidity. I like a dewy look but more toward radiant than wet. THANKS SO MUCH!!!
So happy to watch this review. Felt a lot more honest than some of the others I’ve seen for the maybelline. Completely agree with your review about both products
Thanks for doing a wear test! I just watched another comparison of these two & the Maybelline looked more luminous on her. Both look great on you. Your skin looks amazing 😊
The L’Oréal one is my absolute HG🖤🔥 I love how versatile it is, like if I wake up late and aim in a hurry it’s something I can kinda just carelessly slap on if I need to and I don’t have to worry about blending too much. Recently got the maybelline one and as much as I wanted to like it, I don’t know it’s just kind of dry feeling. Like if I was in a rush and I needed to just quickly put it on I think blending would be a bit more of a requirement with the Maybelline. I’m definitely going to keep using it though, maybe it’ll grow on me lol
I actually do think the amount of shine/oiliness coming through is more noticeable on the L'Oreal side! However just my 2 cents as someone with dry skin, I found neither of these hydrating. I still like them and wear them but have to prep well. I have flakiness from retinol on top of my already dry skin and the L'Oreal one still requires a thick moisturizer underneath, if that helps anyone 😁 I would recommend the Neutrogena foundation serum for dry skin or if you have flakiness - that one actually feels like skincare
You’d be so helpful if u told me more about the maybeline one ? Is it too thicc ? If I have dry or normal skin which one is better ? Also coverage. But is it cakey ? Thank you sm
@@cucumberpufway9108 if you have dry skin I don't think either of them are hydrating so they are equally drying in my opinion. If you have normal skin, either should work similarly. If you have texture or larger pores, I felt the Maybelline one emphasized them more, so it might give a bit more of a "cakey" appearance if you use a lot of product. I don't like a lot of foundation so I very rarely have this problem with any foundation looking cakey because I will barely use a pump for my whole face. I'd say Maybelline has better coverage and shade range. Hope that helps
The dry down time and matte look of maybelline is because is has denatured alcohol in its top ingredients list, I am pretty sure it might be number 3 on its list, that’s why I can’t use it, I have dry skin, I would have to prep my skin so much, so I just prefer to stay away from denatured alcohol unless it’s further down the the ingredients list. They both look good on you.
Thank you for sharing that info! That’s so unfortunate that the ingredients exclude your skin type 😕 so are you a fan of the L’Oréal tint since it seems to be geared more towards dry skin?
@@ByKristinaStudio I actually haven’t tried it yet, I need a little more coverage, because I tanned in my younger years and have some sun spots on my face, I actually use the bounce skin tint by beauty blender. It is light, but has more coverage and doesn’t sink into lines or pores, I have mature skin, I am 56 tho, and didn’t start taking care of my skin until I was 50, so I try to let everyone know the importance of a good skin care regimen and spf., I wish I would of been smarter, skin care was not as well known about when I was a teenager. I'm so happy I tuned in! I was on my way to get the Maybelline, but thanks to you I prefer the L'Oreal and will purchase that one instead. I like that it gives a subtle glow, looks very nice on you. Thanks so much for this informative video... 💄✅
That is SUCH a good idea. I should have done that! Thank you for the feedback and I'll be sure to do it next time 😊 If it's helpful at all for you, I haven't noticed any bad flashback from either. But I will keep you updated if that changes!
Great video! They both look great!! I’m in need of a new foundation. My tan has faded but not completely. So I don’t want to spend a fortune on a foundation that I won’t wear in 2-3 months. I usually go “dewy” but wondering if I should try a Matte look.
I do same thing you do with the droppers on the face and use my fingers to blend out, then a brush and then the sponge… I do have the L’Oréal one and did not like it and just now got the one from Maybeline. Will be trying the Maybeline tomorrow.
Your face looks more oily with L’Oréal. With Maybelline radiant glow but not oily at the end of the day. I’m a big fan of the L’Oréal but I think Maybelline goes better with your skin.
The L’Oréal one doesn’t have enough yellow and the maybelline is closer to yellow in my opinion. I use 21 & 36, it’s weird how maybelline change their shade numbers in different countries.
Yes I see that too! Probably because the L'Oreal shade I chose is neutral undertone and the Maybelline was a warm undertone. I always do neutral but the that one surprisingly matched the best out of the range for me
Ooh thanks for the comparison. I was wondering, is a skin tint in the consistency of a thinner foundation or are they like tinted moisturizers? Wanted to know what the differences are between the formulas
Hey! I feel like brands use skin tint and tinted moisturizer synonymously. For me, I would compare this more to a thin foundation though because of the amount of coverage I'm able to get. When I think tinted moisturizer, I assume the base is mainly for moisture with a hint of color to offset any skin discoloration.
This was so helpful!!! The difference is small enough that I’d probably just get the maybelline one because I have one of their foundations and the shade match is perfect for me
Thank you for your thorough and useful videos! I've been enjoying your channel a lot since the last few months, and we're the same skintone so I'm able to make good decisions for purchases :)
Always appreciate how thorough you are, especially with comparison videos. What shade are you wearing in the Maybelline skin tint? I didnt catch that in the video or description. Thanks!
I've used the Maybelline only. Getting the Maybelline off is kind of interesting...doesn’t come off with soap/gel cleanser and water. I have to use elf makeup remover, tissue off, and then cleanse with soap. And even with toner, there's still a bit left. Even using less than demonstrated, it's still tough to remove. Unlike any other foundation I have ever used.
Oh that’s interesting! I always use a cleansing oil or balm as my first cleanse and then a regular cleanser and have no problem. Have you tried any other first cleanse other than elf? Maybe that one just isn’t thorough enough
I'm just confused about the hyaluronic acid bc normally when you use a hyaluronic acid serum, you are suppose to apply to damp skin and then follow with a moisturizer for it to work properly. But when its in the foundation, you can't follow those steps. So I'm not sure if it really does what it's suppose to do and I heard if you don't follow those steps for hyaluronic acid it will make your skin dry. And the exact opposite of the purpose. Am I just overthinking it?!
That’s a valid concern and something I haven’t thought about! Maybe the assumption is that you put it onto already moisturized, hydrated skin? And it pulls from your existing skincare. But honestly I never rely on makeup for my skincare so I almost feel like the skincare in it is like a “btw this is in it” but not actually doing much 🤷🏻♀️
I love the Maybelline but I'm having a hard time finding it here in Puerto Rico. They only sell it in select Walgreens and even then, every time I go they're always out of my shade. I don't understand. But because of that problem I ened up buying the L'Oreal one to test it out. I only tried it out at home and it looked pretty but I have no idea how it would hold up during a long work day as a teacher. I am also VERY oily.
Someone else said that they were both a bit drying on their dry skin! They recommended the neutrogena foundation serum instead. My skin is dry and I have the maybelline fit me dewy and smooth foundation and I like it a lot! I often apply it with a damp sponge/beauty blender for a more sheer and natural finish
