I have had the oportunity to see her twice when she came to Argentina (1991 and 2015). A love and profound respect to this little woman with a great heart and a great way to tell something.

A very beautiful and clever way of reimagining Aristophanes. Miss Anderson always delivers.

There's a story in an ancient play about birds called The Birds
And it's a short story from before the world began
From a time when there was no earth, no land.
    Only air and birds everywhere.
But the thing was there was no place to land.
    Because there was no land.
So they just circled around and around.
Because this was before the world began.
And the sound was deafening. Songbirds were everywhere.
Billions and billions and billions of birds.
And one of these birds was a lark and one day her father died.
And this was a really big problem because what should they do with the body?
There was no place to put the body because there was no earth.
And finally the lark had a solution.
She decided to bury her father in the back of her own head.
And this was the beginning of memory.
Because before this no one could remember a thing.
They were just constantly flying in circles.
    Constantly flying in huge circles.

We are dying in the wake of the ancient gods from a recent century and their decrees which remain archaic. All that surrounds us is a consequence of grief. Writings on paper walls represent a truth no one reads anymore - We are surrounded today by governments of puppets artists blinded by other beliefs than our simple desires and aspirations - I thank God for inspiring me this hollow and redundant text!

I aliken Laurie to Kate Bush, Annie Lennox,Bjork, David Bowie and David Byrne as a creative genius in my opinion.

It is interesting to hear how a non-Indigenous person... a person not of a Tribal Earth nation shall we say.... from a culture that has no or very little understanding of collective memory, memories that are stored within the Elders and gifted to younger generations through song, art, dance, ceremony and everyday talk... the Oral Traditions..... it is interesting to hear how memory is thought of and it is interesting to me how she still connects the elder with the younger. Very thoughtful L.A.

i didn't know this song (or didn't remember it - memory...)
i was expecting the creation of land, after the beginning of memory - instead of which : silence ! good thing, gives time to think - maybe some kind of land to let the spirit get somewhere, after circling
