For me, the really funny thing about this bit is for years, Jerry the comedian was always slammed by critics and even on THIS SHOW for being the "What's the Deal with...?" and so when he wants to bomb, he puts on the Gallagher suspenders and uses "What's the Deal...?"
Jerry bombing on stage is some of the funniest stand-up on the show. "What's the deal with homework? You're not working on your home!" "Booooooooooooooo" 😂😂😂
@@edtheman28And anything that aired between those two shows would be a hit, no matter how bad it was. The same was true for anything that aired between "Seinfeld" and "ER."
Lol Bania is so well written. It makes sense why Jerry is so annoyed by him, but he's still a pretty good guy! Like, I'd probably hang out with a guy like that

This is one of several lines Seinfeld cribbed from the infamous Buddy Rich tapes. These are huge in comedy circles, leaked tapes of '60s Big Band performer Buddy Rich berating the bandmembers after his shows. Throughout the tapes, he has such fascinatingly florid language and delivery that Jerry and Larry David were enthralled. In this particular rant, Buddy is threatening to have the sound man disable the supporting audio so the saxophonists' live performance is all that's audible and "see what kind of a band you got up there, without all the assistance."
Jerry said something like "I've got to get on that internet, I miss everything", in one episode. And Nina, said something about the world wide web during the Betrayal episode.
How many episodes have there been where Jerry bombed on stage (Whether intentional or not)? In storyline terms, it's shocking that he still gets gigs! lol
Hadn’t thought of that, but let’s see-the airline pilot, the heckler, the school assembly, the suspenders. Sally’s one woman act. Within the sphere of the show his standup act is a total lead balloon.
Not really. When Bania gave Jerry the Armani suit, he kept bragging how he didn’t want anything for it, when in reality he wanted an expensive meal which he kept stalling by getting a free soup which wasn’t supposed to count for the “meal”.
"3:45 You had some good stuff, the cancer bit" 😂😂😂 That entire exchange is one of my favorites from the show.
Kramer is such a good friend to show up and laugh at Jerry's intentionally terrible jokes.
Lamp shade joke was hilarious 😂 😂😂
"You worn the suit yet?”
“Actually, I did. I put it on last night and slept in it!
“YA DID!?”
Oh I’m joking.!
"He HAD cancer!"
"And laughter is the BEST medicine!!!"
George's pettiness reaches its peak behind the wheels... the elderly gang chasing him is so ridiculously good.
Whatchya got there the 4 volt? I liked it when he beeped the horn and gave Jerry that look to help him get his wheel unstuck. 😀
Did we watch the same clip - or did you forget to take your anti-imagination medicine again?
Jerry's rivalry with Bania is the greatest in television.
Newman
I'm not sure about that, Costanza's ability to self-sabotage might make his rivalry with himself the best.
The Best!
What about Cheers rivalry with Gary's Olde Towne Tavern?
Nah Newman is bro
Come on, you can’t beat his rivalry with Newman.
Kramer saying “I read on the internet he killed” is surreal
definitely! must've been some message board of the olden days!

4:20 Anything with Chris Parnell is gold, Jerry, gold!
I love how half the time when people leave the scene they just wander deeper into Jerry's apartment
I think they're supposed to be going to the bathroom. I think the apt is just the kitchen/living room, bathroom, and his bedroom
For me, the really funny thing about this bit is for years, Jerry the comedian was always slammed by critics and even on THIS SHOW for being the "What's the Deal with...?" and so when he wants to bomb, he puts on the Gallagher suspenders and uses "What's the Deal...?"
He is brilliant, very creatively taking jabs back at critics
3:30 one of the few times Jerry actually says his most quoted line
The Killin it dialogue killed me in the beginning 😂
Chris Parnell's great in everything
Jerry bombing on stage is some of the funniest stand-up on the show.

I heard this episode was an allegory for the Friends and Seinfeld time slots on Thursday nights.
Seinfeld used to air at 9. Friends at 8

Oakily doakily.
We all should be in the Kenny Bania business! "BANIA! BANIA! BANIA!"
Shopping carts with one bad wheel. Who knew later that would be a meme theme.
Its ironic that Seinfeld didn't do well until they put it on right after cheers ,it was cheers that did it for Seinfeld
Yes and also the talent he is surrounded by.
Jerry is probably one of the most successful untalented comedians to have ever lived.

He was just starting his career here, late-90s... then he went to do SNL and 30 Rock next.

Shopping carts with one bad wheel!!!😂😂😂😂
One of the first times, I have heard the mention of the Internet on Seinfeld, the TV show coincided with the start of the World Wide Web
Jerry said something like "I've got to get on that internet, I miss everything", in one episode. And Nina, said something about the world wide web during the Betrayal episode.
Nina did yes. Email.
"That's right, Choochie."
"Ima go pick up some chicks."

I like Dr Leo Spaceman's cameo.
Kristin Davis at 0:44! 😍😍😍😍❤❤❤❤

Bania’s show went on to have fifteen seasons won several awards and somehow ended with Kenny getting elected president.

By season 9 the show had gotten very slap sticky, but I think this is still my favorite season.
Bania's one of those really great side characters, but he doesn't get the love he deserves

Kenny is actual good guy... Jerry hates him for no reason like all sociopaths
That punchline would've landed better if we hadn't heard the guy yell "I have cancer"
I never understood why Jerry hated Bania. He was always pretty nice to him 🤣
He was kinda overbearing at times.
Jerry says outright in "The Alternate Side" that he hates everyone. In fairness though, in "The Invitations", he also admits that he hates himself.
He was a douche, a hack, “fake nice” in order to leech off of him. Complete sociopath
