O-H-I-O Porters🇺🇸Nice video of a nice old truck. I come from a long line of truckers…Dad, brothers, uncles & me included. One uncle loved GM trucks & that’s what he drove. He bought Macks, Petes for his drivers though. He took great pride in caring for his trucks. Love seeing an old Chevy Titan like that. 🥰🤩✌️

Drove over a million miles with a Astro Detroit diesel and a Chev Titan 90 with a 855 Cummins and a 13 speed with 4:11 gears and tall 11r22:5 tires 😊

It's pretty easy to figure out what it's got for an engine. Within seconds of hearing it I knew exactly. Anyway I know that this is an older video but I'm here to tell you old or not you have alot of good videos. I'm getting close to my 35 year as a heavy truck mechanic so obviously I enjoy this type of thing. It brings back so many memories. Some good some not so much but I appreciate putting stuff like this up for people to see. So ya ty ever so much 👍 🇨🇦 🔧

I bought a Chevy Titan new in 1979 with 8V92 Fuel Squeezer (430 hp) with 13od. and 4:30 gears .... the dealer I bought from sold a lot of trucks to ICL brokers (Chatham Motors) and most were big Detroits and some with the 5 speed Allison automatics set up to pull 130,000lb. (like driving a bus).

When we were kids in the 70's we would stop our bikes and climb on all the Chevy Titans at the dealer on Van Dyke in Warren MI (Detroit). My dad had trucking Co. I've been driving 40yrs

I’m going to say it’s an 8V 71 with a turbo, that was advertised as a 350 hp. The trailer is what we called a tri axle with 8ft spread. You could
licence into Michigan at 117,000 lbs with that. You lifted the front axle when empty or turning corners. I had one that was all on air, it was a
nice trailer to pull especially with my Hendrickson Extended leaf suspension on my 76 K 100. You didn’t feel the trailer back there as far as
ride went. The spread axle was a bit dodgy on ice slick roads, but with over a 100,000 gross you lift the axle up, and run sensible for the road
conditions it felt pretty solid. Keep your 5th wheel greased. Never drove an Astro / Titan but the wrap around dash was quite innovative I thought.

    Sounds like 6-71 or perhaps a 6V92 I'm guessing.
Astros and Titans are the most beautiful cabover trucks ever, and I heard that Larry Shinoda was involved with their design!

      No. Thats an 8v. Either a 71 or a 92. More than likely a 71.

To me, that music kind of fits the scene. I think it's The Band, playing Wheat, Rice, and Wine.
But I'd rather hear that Screaming Jimmy for this video.

Another comment explained it. The front trailer axle suspends when empty or for slow cornering and the axles are spread out to lessen the span across the trailer.

Actually, ICL didn’t go “belly up”.....They sold out to Yellow Freight who had no interest in anything but LTL....The remaining 75 brokers on ICL started IFS out of Tilbury with terminals in Oshawa and St Catherine’s, ON. Please don’t ever confuse IFS w ICI....No connection whatsoever! Thanks for the video...we enjoyed a walk down memory lane.
