On a day like that with cloud coverage and even lighting all around, it might be a good idea to use the "lock exposure" setting on the GoPro to avoid that constant shift in the auto-exposure.
This is a cool looking frame. I fly a Shedrones Squirt V1 but I'm thinking of building this. The only things I don't like are... 1. The yellow. 2. The FPV camera mount (I would expect something more substantial than a simple 3D mount like this. 3. The GoPro mount with the lens protector. I wish it came with something more simple for those of us that use an external ND filter holder.
About the dark, light issue with gopro. Easy fix: LOCK your exposure! Just click and click again and hold on the screen.. You will get a square with a lock in it. Looks so much better! :D
Thanks for this review. I have a DJI version coming. I for one am not that interested in racing and 3d maneuvers. For as long as I can remember, I have envied birds and their ability to fly. I believe this will get me as close as one can get to the joy of flight.
Was about to order this bumblebee a week ago, but I ended up stumbling on the new Geprc DJI Cinerun HD. And after seeing some of your reviews of geprc products, I'm starting to wonder if I'm better of with that geprc cinerun with a lower weight and potentially a more "fun" flying experience and longer flight times. Oh hey. I'm thinking of building this one myself. But as you can see... it isn't a freestyle quad. You seem to do a lot of photography and video, so starting with this might be cool. You can later build something for freestyle.
