I travelled around New Zealand's south island in a camoer van and saw quite a few pubs with signs out on the road inviting campervans to stay overnight in their parking areas. I think it was worth their while with the extra meals and drinks they sold.
❣️💌❣️🫶 Absolutely stunning but there is no way I'd be okay being so high up in such precarious places. Thank you for being so brave and allowing us to tag along!
Great Video. Brings back a lot of memories as my late father lived in Tintagel for a number of years. We used to stay at Headlands. You can guarantee that it rains whatever the season. The road from the top is a bit narrow for some larger vehicles, so easier through Boscastle. Keep up the good work.
Tintagel looks so pretty! Shame Cornwall is so tricky in a van. I guess it is best to stay away from the super popular places and try and find hidden gems instead. I could go for a pasty now haha
Awesome! I can’t even imagine being there myself and seeing those views! I know Canada has some amazing views right here in my own backyard, but they don’t have the history.
This was truly beautiful! I agree the fog added to it so much! Exactly the kind of videos I meant when I said it would be very cool to see how you two view parts of the UK! I don't know if you colour graded this but if you did great job! PS- I had no idea you guys take such beautiful pictures! saw a couple on insta and the colours are AMAZING! not sure if you've ever considered selling prints?
@@morpheium203 thanks so much! I only colour graded a tiny bit 😃 and thank you!! We did think about it ages ago but weren’t sure how to actually do it, definitely something I want to look into! 😊💖

Thankyou to the both of you for this lovely treat of a video before the year ends :)
Awh thank you, so glad you enjoyed it! It’s the most magical place, it’s meant to be king Arthur’s birth place and has a very whimsical feel about it! The perfect place for drawing inspiration 😃💖
Beautiful footage! ❤ Gosh, bridges like that make me nervous. Maybe the thought of a double bridge makes it a bit better. 😳 I'll try a pasty, I've never had them! Lol love the ending. 😂
Cannot tell you how jealous I am of the pasty, the beauty of the landscape, and hearing the gulls! I miss the English seaside. I do not miss the price of it all though...£19 per person is insane, especially if you have 5 kids like I do!
That’s what I miss whenever I leave the UK! There’s just something about the English seaside 😄 but the price definitely sucks haha, even half of that would’ve been a lot! 💖
We always use Tintagel as a daily base while exploring all the area of 30 mile radius, like you say showers are brilliant and no shortage of eating, drinking places, after a few days we go to Mevagissey campervans £10 fees very welcome, no showers or toilets but plenty around harbour and great places to eat and drink and great base to explore the lower part of Cornwall, safe journey's.
Another great video thanks guys! It's a shame you've had to move but glad you found a decent spot! That castle trail looks stunning, especially in the fog! Out of curiosity, has the solar power been any better? Feels like the greyness has been marginally better lately?? 🤞😊
Thank you! The castle is so lovely there 😄 and it’s been a tiny bit better, especially because we’ve been driving a lot more so it’s charged the battery from that, we haven’t had much luck with sun lately 😅💖
Vans have become so popular over the last decade or so that they have become an issue in a number of places, over what was the traditional caravaning. The negativity is kinda to be expected. The NC500, as an example, has become a nightmare - heavy demand on local infrastructure and services, without too many tourist £££s actually being spent in the area.
@@saintuk70 While we can’t speak for everyone who travels in vans, we personally make an effort to spend locally wherever we go-whether it’s in shops, cafés, supermarkets, or other businesses-contributing to the local economy. In this video, for example, all the vans parked in the King Arthur car park were supporting local businesses like the pubs, souvenir shops, and attractions such as the castle, which has an £18 entrance fee. If the UK followed the example of some EU countries and invested in proper infrastructure like you say, it could benefit both local communities and tourists alike.
my wife from st austell. She used walk her kids down to spit beach near par i think. We go back cornwall camp off grid.did stay at tintagel car park once noticed was cheap.Worth going camp there for shower etc.😊
The main reason local people get pissed if with van and caravans, is most don’t have any consideration for other people using the roads and ignore signs, park where they like and most can’t drive down our narrow lanes. If you can’t reverse for long distances please stick to the main roads. You wouldn’t believe how many times I had to reverse or move peoples vans and caravans who have got stuck and created havoc.
You’re right, signs are the most important thing! We try to stick to the biggest road we can and we have to constantly ignore route suggestions from our sat nav trying to take us down roads with signs about size, luckily never had a really bad situation of getting stuck in the UK
Those Cornish villages are set up for the tourist & the prices of everything says it all. The idea of campevanning for most, is seeing places on the cheap, £6.50 for a pastie is definitely out for most people.
We thought it was expensive as well but it was a very good pastie 😂 And they had practically sold out around mid day so lots of people visiting were buying them, and lots of tourists were in campers staying in the same car park as us.
Do you think people in UK look at people living in vans as "Travellers" or Roma? Sorry I don't mean to insult anyone. I just wonder if the prejudice against travellers/roma/gypsies is in UK?
There’s definitely a lot of prejudice towards travellers in the UK, however they’re more often associated with caravans than motorhomes and campers, so I think it’s rare that people look at those in vans and presume they’re from the traveller community - they definitely get wayyyy more negativity than we do. The views on campervans are very mixed, because a lot of people just look at us as a nuisance 😅
They look at us and think freeloaders living for nothing. Trouble is they have no idea how hard it is. If i could swap my motorhome for a house i would do it in a heartbeat.
You can’t blame the locals(the born & bred ones) as large vehicles on those narrow roads is just ridiculous, it’s almost as bad as the Lycra brigade(cyclists) hogging the whole road.
Didn’t go down any narrow roads in St Ives, only the main roads where double decker buses were driving. I wouldn’t dream of driving down the centre of St Ives 👍
@ went there for a lads holiday last year & caught a couple of busses..it’s absolutely mad as the roads are so narrow & sunken, plus they don’t half go fast.
