I hope you all enjoyed this scrap block! This is an ongoing series I've started to find blocks that work really well with all those little scraps. If you like this one, check out the other scrap block video here: ua-cam.com/video/f9eXZw0tmWw/v-deo.html
totally agree!! They are small enough without having to deal with tiny little triangles :) and thanks! I love this block! It looked kind of drab in black and white in the book but as soon as I finished that first purple block I was in love!
Beautiful, scrappy star blocks! I’d love to see a video of how you put that quilt as you go star quilt all together. I’ve never made a quilt as you go. Also, that scrappy strip backing is going to be so fun!
Megan , I love your videos. You are so talented and adorable. The scrappy star is beautiful. Can you show us the quilt once it's put together. Curious about what the rainbow back will look like. Happy quilting😊 Love from Alabama❤️
Great block. Love your tutorials and mathematics explanations. LOVE the purple block! My favorite way to make HSTs is using strips (same size as the blocks) no waste or trimming. ;)
Thanks so much, Tina! I'm really excited to be able to quilt all these little blocks going forward :). I've done a few quilt as you go projects and it is so fun to put it all together and have a finished quilt!
I'm working on hand quilting a quilt for one of my grandkids. I finally got to chance to sit down and watch you work. Thanks for posting this video! Very enjoyable!
Haven't been quilting long enough to have much in my scrap bag, but it'll come one day soon! LOL! Love watching all your videos. Feels like I'm sitting with a friend and she's teaching me stuff. 🙂 Looking forward to a QAYG tutorial video. Thanks for another beautiful block!
Lol. The scrap stash will accumulate faster than anything else!! I’m always amazed when I pull out scraps to work with-I can make an entire quilt and it seems like I end with more scraps than I began with!
I agree with the 2 at a time method for HST. I have EQ8 and to me that is the one draw back (7/8”). When I write my patterns I always change to instruction it make HST 2 at a time. Also, love this block!
I agree--it is definitely the big drawback to that software and I wish it was more explained when you buy it. I think a lot of people purchase the software thinking it is going to give them a more finalized pattern. Its still great though! I use it quite a bit for playing around and getting ideas. :)
Love this, Megan. I have been thinking about making scrappy stars with my abundant scraps-cut-to-precut sizes, so your timing is perfect. Looking forward to the next installment, too, as I have plenty of 5" squares in both charm packs and scraps cut to that size!
Thank you for this tutorial. I just love your block. ❤️ I’m wondering if you have a white, or white on white that you go to all the time. Thanks so much!! ❤️❤️
Hello doll, I love your videos. I have a question: When there’s a block pattern that calls for 2 3/4” squares or 5 7/8” squares, can I just round it out by using 3” and 6” squares??? I’m more into the Whole inch or inch and a half type system.
I did! I’ve been using it to film more free motion quilting videos. There just wasn’t a lot of space to film around my juki and it was hard to see. This is so much better!
That is great! I’m hoping to add a sit down machine to my studio in the future. It’ll definitely help me not have to wrestle quilts under my home machine any longer!!

Your eye for color is remarkable.
Amen! 3" squares to make 2 1/2 HST is the only way to go! Such a beautiful block!

@@TinyOrchardQuilts Agreed! I'm anxious to make one 😉 Have a beautiful day!
Would love to see how you join/ assemble a bunch of quilt as you go blocks.
Me too 😀
Such a precious block. One way to tame all of those seams is to substitute flying geese (4 at a time!) for the HST's--if one has largish scraps!
Beautiful, scrappy star blocks! I’d love to see a video of how you put that quilt as you go star quilt all together. I’ve never made a quilt as you go. Also, that scrappy strip backing is going to be so fun!
Look forward to the finished quilt.
A great block! It was wonderful watching your sped up quilting!
thank you so much for this pattern I make a lot of quilts for the linus childrens charity so this pattern will be perfect

Megan I just love all of your tutorials. Keep them coming!! I'm a big scrappy quilter. Have a great day!
I really love your videos. Great explanations, ideas, and enthusiasm. Thank you.
I just watched your fat quarter quilt video and it was just so fun. I love an easy quilt.
What beautiful blocks!! I love purple. Thx a bunch. And I have a lot of charm squares so I’ll be waiting to see what you do with them
I have loads of scraps, so I always love to see a new, innovative way to use them!
Very clever on putting the backs together using strips - I like this block a lot.
Thank you so much. I realy enjoy all your projects! 💖

Another great block! Thanks for sharing!
These are so adorable! I really struggle with scraps so thank you! I will try this block.
Scraps can be so hard!!! I let them pile up for too long so I'm really making an effort this year.
Love the blue/aqua best! Pretty colors
Love the quilt block very very beautiful
Awesome! I love how you teach and explain things. It’s like having a personal instructor!

I totally love the scrappy look of the front & back! My baby sister has decided that I need to make HER a quilt like that! 😂
Just lovely
Thank you! :)
Beautiful blocks…🥰

Beautiful ❤
Beautiful block , now I know what to make with left over scraps from my other quilts .
Gorgeous
I always learn so much from your tutorials. Thank you so much greetings from Switzerland
Thanks ordered the tape😁
Love the name of this block and the look! Thank you!!!!
Can you do a video on the QAYG and sashing them together?
That’s the plan! I have a few blocks done. As soon as I have enough, we will put them together :)
Would LOVE to see that!!!
I look forward to seeing how it’s don’t too.
It's so nice to have you back. Wonderful tutorial as always! Thank you 💙
Love this block! Somehow I've missed a few videos. yikes. Time to binge watch.
I have the seam guide tape, but haven't needed to make any HSTs lately. Great tips and inspiration!
Fun block. I'm really into using up scraps after I've de-cluttered and reorganized for the new year. I love your creativity and great tutorials! :)
One question: What is your favorite method of joining quilt as you go blocks?
Love your videos!
Thank you for this tutorial. I just love your block. ❤️
I’m wondering if you have a white, or white on white that you go to all the time.
Thanks so much!! ❤️❤️

Love your vids! Thank you! I'm looking for the free Scrap Star Block. Can you please direct me? Thanks a million!
I really wish you would share your quilting ideas¡
👍💖💖💖🥳🎊👏
Did you add a sitdown quilting machine to your space.....??
I did! I’ve been using it to film more free motion quilting videos. There just wasn’t a lot of space to film around my juki and it was hard to see. This is so much better!
@@TinyOrchardQuilts congratulations.....!! Definitely provides good view for filming. 🙂

I have seen wrong sides together in error. You are not alone.
Are you OK?
Too much top stitching.
