Barbados is a great island and has great schools but glad you went to where you figured you’d be the most comfortable. Hope you’re enjoying the Caribbean!
Also, yes you should’ve applied to US schools with your final year research. The thing is, with the US the fees can be lowered a bit with scholarships (easier w/ non-MD degrees but still).

After payment of fees, they will give you a Dominican visa waiver but you have to apply for UK or USA visa to transit or go through the long route

So to get the student Visa from Nigeria, the school assisted you right?

You don’t get dominican student visa from Nigeria. Dominica is 3 months visa free so what you get is a pass document from school. When you get to dominica, the school would assist in applying for the Dominican visa

There are jobs but you are not allowed to work as a student..and yes I believe you can come with your family
