its part of the learning experience. Getting fucked by people better than you. And its unavoidable when youre making a new account, otherwise i doubt Trump would play against noobs.(well, D TRUMP would, but not TrumpSC)
that was similar to me with my first arena run :( a win and 3 defeat because I draft too much value card and have no board control...
if you drew a lot of "value cards" that more than likely would have given you the board control... doubt that was the reason for your 1/3 arena run.

While watching this, I decided to start an arena run as hunter.
I got legendary pick between Patches and Knuckles.
The difference? I got the pirate package.
Picking Stonetusk the Pirate over Gruul hurt me on the inside granted since pirates aren't all too rare, it doesn't hurt that much. I'm also biassed because I like Gruul.
Wait wait wait when did they change the "whenever this minion damages another it kills it" to "Poisonous"?
when un-goro was announced, one of the adapt features gives the minion poison, so ben brode decided to change it to make it more colloquial.
Makes sense. But also why not give the "Can't be Targeted by Spells or Hero Powers" a key word finally, as more cards in the game have that text than Poisonous does and is *also* one of the adapt features? I don't understand HS Dev sometimes.
It maybe because they probably believe that since it allow that minion to be both spell immune and hero power immune as opposed to one or the other the card should explain both conditions on it, it would be too complicated to understand? Except that every keyword is explained whenever you hover over a card, so if people didn't understand it would take about 5 seconds to learn real quick. And after one mistake you would likely never forget that spells and hero powers wouldn't be able to target those minions. I know that they have the philosophy of simple and self-explanatory cards, but that strikes me as real strange that they decided to make a key word for one rare key word and not the other.
Maybe there is going to be a lot of Poisonous cards in the expansion? I guess that's a good a guess as any.
4 Poisonous cards, 2 are rotated/about to rotate out.
6 "Can't be targeted..." cards, 3 are rotated/about to be rotated, and 1 is a card from Ysera.
Out of all these 10 cards, you usually see Laughing Sister the most, and that's because Ysera is sometimes played and you get it. And then Faerie Dragon in Dragon decks, either Aggro Warrior or it's the best pick from Netherspite Historian.
I think it's that spellproof or hexproof are both used in magic and other tcg's so they don't want to get in trouble with that.
Well, I thought that "Elusive" was a pretty good word to describe the mechanic, but people told me it was used in Magic. But I just looked it up, and Elusive isn't used as a keyword in Magic, but Poisonous is, though it does something completely different there. I guess they aren't worried about getting in trouble for that *shrug*

At 33:30 he still had lethal by trading in the runts as the 2/2s would have charge. So he missed lethal twice that turn :P

Ive probably been unlucky, but ive been getting some ridiculously bad Arena draws recently. I mention it here because ive seen trump get similar luck- ie never being given the option to pick a 2 drop minion, and being spammed with potion options. I feel like Arena needs balancing again with some of the less useful cards being taken out.
Did someone else notice or even know that the emperor cobra has the keyword "Poisonous" on it? Since when?

17:50 you took 1 extra damage on yeti by trading it into the 4/4 and trading your two 2/2s into the 3/4. the two 2/2s die trading with either target so you should trade them into the higher attack target, leaving you with a 4/2 yeti instead of a 4/1. not that having a 4/1 is that much worse than a 4/2 against priest, but there's no reason to prefer having a 4/1 over having a 4/2. especially when you have kindly grandmother in hand, the 4/1 on board can make potion of madness way more punishing
if I get another patches, that's natural synergy !

How are the first arena matches in Hearthstone easier? I thought it's always a random opponent.
The devs said that new accounts have their first /or first few/ arena runs counted with one loss already so 0/0 new arena player is paired with 0/1 normal player and 2/0 is paired with 2/1

It's random. The level of the players doesn't matter. It's only about wins/losses. I started a new account and my first arena was super tough from the start.

oy eater of secrets is not that bad. most of the time you can get at least a 3/5 out of it and destroy an enemy secret. so its worth
why do players like him start new accounts?
theres various reasons people start new accounts ( for example out of nostalgia, check the new player experience, just have an arena account) but Trump started a new account because he is gonna do a f2p run next month

That's not true. In arena you get matched with players with same amount of wins/losses. The level doesn't matter. He starts a new account cause you get a free arena run and wants to start a free to play run.
Except theres a few other comments saying new accounts start at a -1 wins arena record, matching you against newer players, not sure which is true

M vG gaining 1/1 each turn is so inconsequential, if a war golem lives for a turn, youve already won, and in the case that you didnt somehow, then the extra 1/1 doesn't matter since it kills pretty much anything anyways.
