About Evil
SERIES INFO
A psychological mystery that examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion. The series focuses on a skeptical female psychologist who joins a priest-in-training and a carpenter as they investigate the Church's backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions and hauntings. Their job is to assess if there's a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.
Starring: Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, Aasif Mandvi
By Robert and Michelle King
Evil airs Sundays on Paramount+.
I am getting a little worried that the writers are going to write themselves into a corner like the Lost writers did. Too many questions and no answers.
Yeah that is what happened with Xfiles too. I hope they don't do that!
@John W that's a conundrum which occurs in some of the best shows. The Blacklist is yet another example in which the show started off brilliant and now it's like microwave food instead of oven cooked goodness made with love.
I hope not! I still have unresolved trauma from LOST doing that!
The clues are in the song at the beginning of the episode. The lyrics say something about "replacing blood with Formaldehyde" then it says "drill a hole in your head" 🤣 It's crazy, creepy and funny 😆 Cheryl sings/talks along to it while with those random dates
I noticed that with the song lyrics but they can't be infusing Sheryl with formaldehyde because it has carcinogens. I was totally creeped out with Sheryl singing the lyrics. 😂😂
@@SuperImprovGal 🤣 I love this series 🤩😍❤ and I never want it to end!! Thank you for your recaps!! Stay safe ❤😇😈❤
I think it’s supposed to be a mix of these men and formaldehyde. ( even thought it’s not actually possible) but it’s apparently keeping them young and sexually relevant.
I love this show I even downloaded the song on iHeart to listen again
@@elizabethdickerson1136 have you had a chance to watch the "Doll" episode from yesterday?? OMG!! I'm so hooked ☠💀
@@karlac5123 no I had a house full yesterday so my evil episode is “ me time” and that’s happening tonight ♥️
The circle around Andy's name isn't fully complete. There's a gap!
Its the IVF doctor in the jar room .
I think they are doing something with the eggs n combination of plasma n serotonin to make that mix
It gives you a boost of something.
Y'all didn't notice how David deliberately baited Leland to notice the brochure of the satanic church to get a rise out of him and to gage his reaction? That had to be for a reason albeit unknown to us. Furthermore,I've a hunch that Kirsten wasn't the only one unfaithful in the marriage. Andy has his own secrets as well. On a final note,I don't like how they just disregarded the previous episode with Vanessa & Maggie either being the same person or possibly two people? They gave no references whatsoever in this episode.
Justin mentioned something about that to me. I'd be curious because he didn't answer either when Kristen asked him if he was sleeping with someone.
The song tells at the beginning does tell us a lot. ( I think )
Your recaps are awesome guys, very thorough! 🙏
Tysm 🥰 looking forward to next season!
This was so hilarious. Thanks...loved the recap!
TYSM 😊😊
Thank you for the recap.
Thanks 😊
Alot of the actors n actresses are using there real names as there characters
Which i like
Thank You
She did have control and she has control to tell her husband but don’t why because she evil and a bad wife just be honest have integrity a wife who cheats and a murderer. Close to what she did with the priest was cheating to just because they didn’t have sex don’t mean it wasn’t cheating she has no integrity and the lady on the show who is discussed in the recap loves it godly
Soooo, I was completely wrong about Sheryl getting revenge this episode. I’m not ready for this season to be over.
I think having Leland groveling and begging for her is her revenge 🤣 and she's not done yet
in native american lore theres deer woman in upstate ny
It looks like blood but I could swear it said Hershey on that bottle she dumped on his head.
🤣🤣 just seeing this now
That's the only thing I think Leland believed
Because hes s real satinst
They are jus a fake church
Anybody else besides me realize that Kristen doomed the lives of her police friend, her therapist and David all bc she killed Orsen?
Her friend didn't arrest her despite hearing a direct confession of murder. David didn't call the cops when she confessed to him nor did her therapist when she said she killed Orsen.
Big rule of being a therapist is that in the event that a therapists suspects or knows that client has or is about to commit a crime they are obligated to call the cops.
The officers gonna lose her badge, Bog is gonna lose his job and his license, and David may be excommunicated from the church for helping hiding a murder. Doesn't matter if the guy was a killer, a murder is still a murder.
Better make sure Leland doesn't find this out bc this is the piece of info that could destroy his enemies.
I don't know if it's poetic or ironic but in taking out someone that wanted to ruin her life, Kristen damned everyone she knows and she don't even realize it yet.
But the irony is that Orsen wanted to make Kristen suffer. But all he had to do was die to make it happen. Kristen was better off letting Orsen come to her property instead of going to his. Then kill him.
I somehow think Leland knows.
That said I am wrestling with the ethics of our protagonist because she got away with murder because she's a white female that had a friend in the police force. 🤔 Hmmm I might have to make a short about this
@@SuperImprovGal and I just forgot something. Leland is getting close to Bog so it's only a matter of time before Leland knows Kristen killed Orson. Once bog tells. Kristen's life is ruined. But Sheryl may step in and save her daughter.
Um...Kristen didn't confess to David...or are you spoiling for a later episode? Because if you are, I swear to Satan...
Also Bog would not lose his job or his license because he did not suspect Kristen of committing a crime again, you're talking out of your ass
I don’t think that the Djinn is malevolent. I think he’s a good djinn who is trying to discourage her from cheating. I think the Djinn was preventing Matilda from burning stuff up, and when he left Matilda and went to Kristen, Matilda was free to go fire burner.
No such thing as a benevolent Djinn. This would be the first but highly doubtful since it moved onto Leland. And I doubt it's there to convince him to mend his ways.
@@wilykat in the F is for Fire episode when Matilda’s adopted family were preparing for the exorcisms, Sheikh Majed said that he needed to determine if the jinn was benevolent or evil. My comment is based on the dialogue in that episode. Ben and David acknowledged that all jinns are not evil in that episode as well. Why would it be included in the episode and referenced more than once if it’s not a possibility? Furthermore, the exorcism that was being performed on Leland was in fact working initially, so I am not convinced that the jinn is/was not with Leland to convict him and discourage him from wrong doing.
@@wilykat Majed said “I need to decide if the jinn is benevolent or evil. Then I must negotiate with it to see if it should even be cast out.” He also said not all jinns choose to be evil. Mathilda seemed worse when the jinn was not connected to her, and he was not the source of her fire, hence her still setting fires at the end of the episode. Did you happen to watch that episode?
@@anniekash2122 I watched that episode and you make a valid point. However, that Djinn hasn't shown us anything that would have us believe that it's benevolent in any way thus far. Whenever it communicated with Kristen via body language it's gestures were sometimes vulgar or just ominous. Another case in point, which is a similar situation like the A is for Angel episode when that demonic looking angel which revealed itself to David referring to itself as The Archangel Michael but looking like something that resides in Hell as opposed to Heaven.
