I have finally at age 74, just awakened to my love for this chanting and how powerful it is for me. I have participated in kirtan at times throughout my life but only recently have discovered that this practice can uplift my mood almost instantaneously. I am so grateful to have realised this. Having found Krishna Das, on youtube and soundcloud has helped so much with this for me. ❤️ I grew up in New York and moved to California at age 29. If I lived in New York I would be attending any events I could. Now I live in Central Oregon and often hope that he will one day show up here. We do have a lovely Kirtan group in my town.
The role of music in eastern music traditions has been supreme. KD talks from his heart and explains do well the “ vibe” of devotional music 🎼 Salute !! 🕉🕉
... not only music for us is important people, but the sounds themselves ... because they organize matter in life ... 80% of the cerebral cortex is responsible for taking and processing sounds ... and the best example of the fact that sound organizes matter in the whole universe is a glass placed at the speaker, at the change of the frequency of sounds, the frequency of quartz atoms changes and the glass breaks ... in every religion there is a question ... in Catholics "in the beginning was the word" meaning sound ... "and the word The body became "... matter ... in Buddhism it is believed that the sound of" OM "started everything
hey friend Chalisa is like a poetry for prayer. chalisa is can be any form of almighty. there can be hanuman chalisa or durga chalisa etc. listen any chalisa and if u feel connected with it. listen it regularly then u know.
20:42 @Daphne i hope you had success in learning the Hanuman Chalisa. The best way is the repeat after someone saying one line at a time. Do that everyday and you should have it down in a month. It’s like knowing a song you love even when it’s in a foreign language and you don’t know the meaning of all the words. Peace and Light.
my pleasure. and if you haven't seen Krishna Das in person I highly recommend it. he is a true blessing to this earth. imho.he has seminars as well as music "shows" both are very wonderful and nothing compares to the positive energy where ever he is performing.
