ua-cam.com/video/GMFd0eOlgpM/v-deo.html In this website, I will share with you a creative process of my independent sci-fi short films. I hope to be able to give some help to those friends who want to complete their own short films independently. Keep working hard and strive to make better films!
Dear God, please don't let someone decide if I am contributing or not! People like me going on 70 aren't particularly considered valuable. Absolutely love this film. The scene of the robot standing by the sea was haunting. Thank you Chris Lee and all the other amazingly gifted filmmakers who keep sharing such thought-provoking work with their audience.
I come here to rewatch the "Sea" scene over and over again, ever since i first watchet this movie on this year. There's something very personal about it. Something transcendent. Like staring at nothing, and yet looking at everything.
So this is right in line with our current history here in 2022. Good thing for the description. I wasn't grabbing all that. Once explained it all makes sense, especially the apathy of the characters. It's nice to know others see what's coming. Every thumbs up matters, every voice matters.
This is intriguing. The aesthetics are reminiscent of the covers of sci-fi books I read in the 70s, and with the Tales From The Loop feel, this is one of those short films that surrounds me, and I will carry it for a long time.
Kill the Mediocrity Zombies. Go for a walk and see Jonathan Livingstone Seagull. Dream of Something you have never seen. The music went so well with the mood. Awesome writing. Respect to the Makers.
I was about to ask why those three were killed, but the description answered that question. Another question deals with who decides what person is contributing sufficiently? Are those who send out the robots actually contributing all that much, if they only send out robots to eliminate those considered useless? On the other hand, those killed do contribute because robots wouldn't be needed if those people didn't exist. So that does mean they contribute. But how much longer can that robot keep killing before it's conscience gets the better of it?
@Jamie Patterson Thanks for your question. Determining the contribution value is the master of the future, but it is also a symbol of another kind of hegemony. This system is not fair, because a person's life cannot be deprived like this. Those who were killed did contribute before, and now the Master decides to punish them as they feel they are worthless. The robot has just awakened, and it will encounter various difficulties in the future. The length of the short film is limited, and it is estimated that it will take longer to make it clear.
I’m the one with the chips for sure😟Noah harari said all we have to do with the non productive ones is feed them drugs and videos. Until there’re gone i suppose 😵💫👹
Didn't get it until I read the description. That would be my only criticism, which is my problem, not yours. Great work. I wish you much (more) success!
It clearly depicts the 'value fulfillment' missing in our society today (the flower story) and it will still be relevant in a not so far future with people being taken mentally by all this Sci-Fi gadgetry that leaves no space for nature & humanity which are the basic essentials.
Maybe if the place didn't have 100% black walls & encouraged socialization more the people wouldn't be depressed & would be more motivated at work. Plus I'm wondering what exactly is the required level of productivity in order to not be murdered by the robot since it isn't explained. I guess it will vary by the job, but even so that is so subjective I don't see why the people allowed that system to be put in place.
Contribution levels can change at any time, because these systems are the decisions of dictators who don't care about people's lives, they care more about their own interests
Great little short, love the music and graphics. But I would suggest, if it wasn't for the summery of the film, one would have a hell of a time figuring what was going on. Don't shoot me...I'm just the piano player...
So has anybody asked, "if no one has seen the starburst from the flower in the valley, how does anyone even know it happens? Yeah, I know right? Mind, blown...
Sometimes value does not necessarily need to be seen by others, it is truly valuable to be recognized by others, and it is also an important part of self-recognition
The ones being taken down seemed sheltered, they just sat there not even reacting to their certain death at the hands of the machine. Easy access of things in the future will make people emotionally unintelligent ? Also what is the names of the sound track at 5:30 and the one of part 3(sea)?
Yes, they probably knew the day was coming and they were negative about what happened. I tried to find the background music, but I couldn't find it, because the computer data disk was broken when I was making this film, and a lot of file not found
Sensory systems in nature are rarely about redundancy. e.g., Having two eyes is not about redundancy. For animals with binocular vision (generally those with forward facing eyes), it's mainly about depth perception; for animals with monocular vision (generally those with eyes on opposite sides fo the head), it's mainly about field of vision. In both cases, the loss of one eye severely limits the core functionality from having two -- in other words, there's no real redundancy. Having two ears enables stereo hearing. Etc. Also, where is the redundancy for the sense of taste? What animal has two tongues? And while most noses have two nostrils, those are just two (very, very close) pathways to a single olfactory organ; where's the redundancy there?
Looks great, obvious talent evinced in shot selection and so forth, but when I have to read something outside a film to grok what's going on inside it, something is awry.
@@chrisleefilm Make no mistake, I think you and your crew are immensely talented. As a viewer, when I see films like this that embody the passions of quality filmmaking, I always want them to be perfect. I look forward to seeing what you challenge us with next!

Is that what the film is about? He was 'deleting' non-contributing people?

Spectacular! I loved this 3 part story. There is so much to be elaborated on in this world. I truly hope to see more.

A good production and example of A possible future where AI determines the worth and fate of humans. The grim reaper costume drove the message home.
Thanks James!

Beautiful. My only criticism is of the Cyclopean nature of the robot. Information gathering systems must ALWAYS be redundant. Evolution proves this.
Your point is great, thanks a lot Ehuud!

I like the film very much. But I also wish it would be more self-explanatory, as I didn't know what's going on till I read your summary.
Thanks!Indeed it will confuse the audience a bit

I shot with a Sony A7M3 camera and finished it in post-production in AE.🙂
The plot sounded good but the execution of the story wasn't. The graphics were quite good. The best scene was on the beach. That was good
