Thank you for posting this, I have an upcoming trip with this airline and was curious given I"ve never flown a Scandinavian Airline. Doesn't look too bad at all! And that economy class looks comfortable.
@mattsmoments2 great video. Thanks. So was that Economy? I am looking at getting an economy flight, buy am hesitant after flying economy on TAP recently.
In the spring of 2023 my daughter and I flew SAS Boston to Copenhagen, then another SAS flight to Athens, and returned to the US two weeks later via the same airline/route. I was very impressed by the manners of all of our fellow travelers, and particularly the way fathers took responsibility for children and small babies. There were no screaming kids or upset adults. Queuing to board as well as leaving the plane was efficient and everyone was polite. Flying SAS was a much better experience than any I’ve had flying US airlines.
You ended up on the unlucky plane. Im gonna fly SAS A330 from Stockholm to Miami in one week with SAS Plus where WiFi will be included, but the plane you flew (SE-REH Birk Viking) is the only A330 in its fleet that dosent have WiFi installed in it.
Thanks for filming this sneak peek! I'm about to go on this very same flight tomorrow (same route, cabin and aircraft type and all!) and will be filming it for my channel as well. It'll be my first of 4 flights on SAS so I'm really excited :)
I thought I should note for first timers at ORD that the CTA Blue Line station is actually under the center of the hotel/parking garage complex rather than Terminal 1. Also, while Terminal 5 is the existing international terminal and the 10 gates at the east end are indeed new in 2023, the ultimate plan is for Terminal 5 to serve the lower volume/low fare domestic carriers when the new international terminal is built. Delta has been moved to the gates on the west end of Terminal 5 as their volume is relatively low, along with Southwest and Frontier. You won't find any Chicago area resident who would disagree with your assessment of Terminal 5, though! TSA was a horrible mess when we arrived at 7 PM for a 10 PM departure recently. Our gate was changed while we were in the security queue and it was impossible to hear the announcement. The arrival/departure boards are also not well placed in the food court area.
Was the seat you were in economy or premium economy? Flying SAS in late June and returning in early July. Original ticket was Chicago - Copenhagen - Paris and returning Brussels - Copenhagen - Chicago. A week ago SAS sent me an email that due to an aircraft change on the Chicago - Copenhagen route I was re-booked via Stockholm since premium economy is will not be offered Chicago - Copenhagen. SAS automatically changed my outbound flight but I had to call to make some adjustments and change my return flight to fly back on the Stockholm route. What would have been a 4 hr layover in Copenhagen is now a 10 hour layover in Stockholm. But a 7:30am arrival into Stockholm and a 5:30pm departure to Paris means I can explore Stockholm for 5 hours. We haven't been to Sweden before so it will be interesting.
Just subscribed great channel! I flew from ord to Dublin recently with aer lingus from gate m42 so nice down that area of the terminal. The rest of the airport very outdated
You’re welcome and thank you for watching. Most likely you’ll see the sun better on the right side of the plane if it’s in view. As you look out each side of the window left side of the plane will be looking mostly north while the right side will be looking mostly south. Depending on flight paths of course. I hope that helps
Nothing was said or asked. It was also a pretty empty flight so I think they didn’t really care since there was so much available room in the overhead bins.
Great and informative video! I am flying the SAS A330 tomorrow. I am excited, as I have flown on all of SAS long haul aircraft (including the A321LR), except the A330. Also, did you get two meal options or just one?

Happy to be helpful. I hope you enjoy your flight and trip.
@mattsmoments2 great video. Thanks. So was that Economy? I am looking at getting an economy flight, buy am hesitant after flying economy on TAP recently.
@michaelkinneymedia I haven’t been on TAP yet. Yes this was SAS’ economy product.
Thank you for showing the new addition to O'hares terminal 5, great to see how fresh and modern it looks!
My pleasure. It looked like they were a step in the right direction

That’s such a great experience to hear about. Other countries tend to do things so much better than the USA.
Thank you. I have a flight on SAS IAD-CPH in September. Though Scandinavian service is quite unassuming these days, it is certainly alright.
I hope it’s a good experience and an enjoyable flight. Safe travels

Good information to know. Definitely unlucky then lol

That’s kind of wild all the changes that happened with your itinerary. Hopefully all goes well and you enjoy the trip.
My seat was regular economy

Good to hear positive vibes about the new part.
I’ll be doing Aer Lingus’ inaugural flight from Denver in May
Very neat
Thank you
Thanks for the video, im taking this flight tomorrow, which side of the plane do you recommend to enjoy the sunrise ?

@@mattsmoments2 it definitely does, thank you
Good old SAS!
How strict were they about your carry on? I saw that they had a 18 lb weight limit and I feel like mine would be definitely over 18 lbs.
Nothing was said or asked. It was also a pretty empty flight so I think they didn’t really care since there was so much available room in the overhead bins.
Is this a safe airline?
Yes
2:30 actually the engines are red, not orange. sas themselves have confirmed that the engines on the old livery are red. :)
otherwise great review!
Good to know! Thank you for the correction.
How long was the flight
A little less than 8 hours.
were the armrests able to be raised between seats?
I’m sorry but I’m unsure if they did or not.
Nice video
Thank you!

I believe there was a light snack for breakfast. Enjoy your trip!
👍
Thank you
Plane looked nice, glad you did forget the potty tour🤣
Absolutely! Gotta show it all uncle! Lmao
👍
