I just recently discovered Shemekia. Now, I've got 10 albums to buy. Real blues. Nothing better.
I watched Shemekia sing this song over 20 years ago in a small restaurant-like setting in Houston. It gave me chills then and still does, if not more so. Could hear it a 1000 more times.
Anyone else has got goose bumps? THIS SO IS SOOO POWERFUL

I discover but not only. I was at a concert in 1992 of Johnny Copeland in Gandia, Spain. Yes ! At the end of the set, he introduced her 10 years old daugther for singing a song. We were impressed. And here she is ! All great love to her, her dad and way of the Blues !

The blues guitar is played by Ken Scanlan. He is from Oregon. He plays around Portland when he's not on tour.

This woman's singing gives me goose bumps! The guitarist and bassist are excellent, also. Heard her on 'Blues Town' with Tom Marker, here in Chicago, home of Alligator Records.

Heard about her on NPR this morning and yeah, this is great. It sounds like she has a new album out.They played a country song she did on there that sounded hilarious and then there was also a Cajun song and that sounded incredible, and then there was some sort of more like a slave song thing which sounds like it has a lot of depth to it.

The crowd is respectful. There is the time to shout when the music's over.
To me its an insult to set back and show no emotion. Music is about emotions and feelings. If it ain't moving u then go on. A singer wants to see their performances move a person's feelings.

I must agree on this. Shemekia's overused, wide vibrato is ruining it for me.
