Very impressive live - performance ! The main theme in e-minor is very similar to Francesco Molino's op56 Concerto.The key of e-minor is of course every guitarists favourite. This is a great reminder that there were many great guitarists in the 19th century who knew what they were doing, and they are sadly often overlooked. Thibaut Garcia's sound is outstanding and so is his musicality, not getting drawn into fast playing for its own sake.
I’m glad you pointed out the speed! Many guitarists play for themselves and think that simply playing fast makes you a skilled musician.

Really nice playing from Thibault. He is one of my favourites among the young players. I am not familiar with this piece either though I like Carulli. Segovia called him a disasterous composer apparently but I don’t buy that at all. I did not know he played off right hand side of nail like Presti and Antigons Goni.
Thibaut is so handsome for a guitarist and he should be an actor and singer.

muy buena técnica del guitarrista
Très belle interprétation de ce concerto datant de la période empire mais la passion du guitariste qui est parfait dans ce répertoire ne cache malheureusement pas les faiblesses de ce concerto noyé dans des arpèges gammes et octaves le tout avec une orchestration assez lourde qui fait regretter les sublimes parties de vent des concertos de Mozart ou la poésie sonore de Chopin ou la virtuosité est au service de la beauté ce qui n est malheureusement pas le cas ici

Looks like the old Presti/Lagoya hand position; I tried it and I don't think it's very healthy but some people seem to make it work.

Magistral interpretación de García, y la orquesta sublime, que bella composición de carilli
il ne peut y avoir de clichés dans l’écriture comme on le lit précédemment car Carulli est un des premiers compositeurs d'envergure pour la guitare 6 cordes et s' il fait l’admiration de son époque en montrant par ce concerto les possibilité la guitare comme instrument concertant avec des arpèges déroulés sur plusieurs octaves ainsi que les notes doublées à la basse qui permettent de ne pas être écrasées par l'orchestre qui ici fait une magnifique introduction pour laisser la place à ce magnifique soliste!!
En plus de la qualité de l'interprète et de l'orchestre la prise de son est remarsable et permet véritable dialogue ce qui est rare dans les interprétations guitare et orchestre entendues sous les ondes
