Thanks for you video thinking about to replace thermal pads an thermal paste on my RTX A6000. BTW: isn't it better to work with a warm card? (Use some stresstest before) Gladly MX-5 was replaced with MX-6 which is much better.
I would like to ask, I have installed the heatsink like you did, and after we installed into the motherboard, Bios cannot recognize the GPU that put it in, it didnt show anything. Do we have to do a fan disable or something first ?
Did you manage to solve your problem? If it isn't being recognized I would suspect a couple possible issues. The most obvious, are you absolutely sure you placed it correctly in the slot? I've manage to miss the pcie slot a few times myself. If that is fine, it could be the weight of the card in the slot. It's not a light waterblock. Did you power the card using the EPS 8 pin? This card won't work without the 8pin and it's not the classic 8pin pcie power. It could be that you shorted the card. Make sure that the metallic parts of the waterblock are separated from the board by thermal pads. If you're using liquid metal, which I wouldn't suggest for this card, there might have been a spill. This could have caused permanent damage.
@@NatePhysicsTutor Did you ever have pump fails or leaks that compromised the system? I'd very like to liquidcool my *very* noisy A6000, but I fear that if the pump or the loop fail that will waste the gpu..
@@NatePhysicsTutor Thanks for the video. Please elaborate about "mostly" (in 'mostly silent'). In which cases in not silent? Is the pump noisy? If yes, what pump are you using? Thanks 1K!
HI i would like to see more about the fusion reactor there is not much information about that on internet it will be helpfull if you upload some videos about fusion reactors please make detailed explaniation videos
Great video. I have a dual A6000Ada system which is super noisy. I would love to switch to water cooling but there's no way I'd have the confidence or experience to do it myself. Two questions: how much quieter is this? 1. Basically silent under load? 2. Are there a lot of shops that offer this sort of service (for a fee) with liability?
1. What determines how quiet it is comes down to your radiators. Enough rad and any system can run quiet. 2. I'm sure there are places that do. If you're just talking about the card, it's not terribly difficult to do. I suggest doing some computation on the card before disassembling it because the warm thermal paste make it easier to separate the heatsink. But also check to see if you could lose your warranty before you do it.
Great stuff, cool video 💜

This ain't no used 3090... wow I wouldn't have the balls to take apart a GPU this expensive. The workstation stuff runs cool enough for me lol.
Honestly, it was mostly for fun. I've hardlined watercooled my systems for years and I wanted to build out a workstation for my MLE work.
@@NatePhysicsTutor yeah most wouldn't risk the warranty

How many mm. does the Rtx a6000 graphics card use Thermal PAD?
Check the manual pdf
how much thermal improvements did you get?
It's basically never above 40c and idle closer to 33c. I'm running it on a 480x120 rad along with the processor and it's mostly silent under load.
@@NatePhysicsTutor That very impressive!!!!!
@@NatePhysicsTutor that's massive improvement!
