I'm Pretty sure NCT-U's "Boss" dance practice was filmed in the same dance studio as most of the other SM dance practices you have watched. The room is just so big that they can film in different angles and different parts of the room. I believe this is SM's iconic gold door dance studio at their old SMTown building where almost all of SM's dance practice videos were filmed between 2015-2021 -- the same room as what you saw EXO's "Obsession" dance practice was filmed in. (FYI: Before SM built their large practice studio, as I think you might have seen with a few of EXO's older dance practices, they used to film and practice in much smaller dance practice rooms that had an iconic cloud screen that they would use as a backdrop to cover windows and mirrors while filming, which has also become a signature symbol of SM.) Almost all of SM's dance practice videos are filmed in the same dance studio for all of its artists and groups because it was designed specifically so they could film in the room. In 2021 SM moved to their new state-of-the -art building, which is named Kwangya, in Seoul Forest. Therefore, now they film their dance practices in a new studio, which you have seen in EXO's "Cream Soda" dance practice video, etc. Unlike most dance studios, which are often in the basement of buildings, SM's new studio is on one of it's upper floors so the windows overlook the city of Seoul, South Korea. The windows in that room have screens that can be closed or opened depending on whether they want to be able to see out the window or to change the lighting or mood of the video, etc. Therefore, sometimes they have the screens closed to cover the windows and sometimes they are open. SM's dance studios are iconic, everyone who knows SM, knows the minute they see the room in the video that it's an SM group. For example, SM's old SMTown building is now rented or owned by a different Kpop company and it's surreal to see that company's dance practice videos, because they film in the same dance practice studio and the room looks exactly the same as when SM owned it. But that's not just SM dance practices, it's the same for a lot of Kpop companies. If you watch a lot of dance practices for groups from other companies you will start to recognize their videos because of the room they are in. For example, JYP Entertainment has an iconic dance studio that is bright red and the lights on the ceiling say JYP. YG Entertainment's iconic dance studio is dark grey and black and has a specific look and feel to it in their dance practice videos, etc. My point is that, when they film a dance practice video it's not just a random dance studio most of time, they are designed specifically for filming in and it's where all of the company's practices are filmed.
I remember recently (during NCT Nation rehearsals) there were some problems with NCT dance practices in the new building because the entire building would shake and the other employees in the building worried about the building's stability (they initially thought there was an earthquake). There were just too many people dancing in unison, so they recently got a new small building with dance studios on the first floor for the larger or more aggressive practices.
God help me, I watched the whole thing. 😂 NCT’s choreo is almost always great, and this is yet another example. I’m guessing you’ve seen other groups do it (I know Ateez has). I don’t recall noticing the armpit hair before; I often wonder about the lengths these guys have to go to maintain their appearance. I’d love to see a video of a few of them shaving! 😂
